Pakistan's President Zardari Surrenders Nuclear Power

Updated on November 29, 2009

Just how much more of a much mess can the US get into than in Afghanistan and Pakistan?

Let's refresh the memory, in Afghanistan the US is spending 1.3 billion on a program to fight the Taliban by trying to lure their younger fighters away with job offerings created by, destroying the drug trade, providing government services. I am not even talking about the money spent to support our troops.  The billion dollar program may work for a while but what happens when the money facet stops? back to the old ways?

In Pakistan, another corrupted mess from the government to the military, the US is giving them another billion or so for their military and similar programs offered in Afghanistan. However, its president, Zardari, is facing corruption charges and most of the population dislikes him. He had the authority to use Pakistan's nuclear weapons. In recent days, however, he has relinquished this ability and authority to the Prime Minister because of the seriousness of the corruption charges facing him.

All of the this corruption only makes for leery allies and fuel for the terrorists. Who can one trust in Afghanistan or Pakistan? Karzai, Aghanistan's president is charged will very similar corruption charges.

How about giving the millions of unemployed Americans in this country a billion dollar aid program again?

The corruption in that region is on a scale that would make mayor Daily proud ! The government is motivated by politics, there is a political gain to be had in that region. When it becomes politically vital the government will flood us with aid programs for jobs, but not until then.
