Precious Stones

Updated on December 30, 2010

Patiently enduring affliction

Isaiah 54:11-12 is a promise from the Lord God which shall not be denied. Therefore we shouldn’t be caught up with the affliction or the apparent tempest that seek to flood our souls but we should take comfort in the fact that he has given us a promise of new and better things.

We have seen the wonders of God and it is on these that we should place our hope. We can’t allow our hope to be deferred but must wait patiently on the promise.

The Lord said in Isaiah 54:11-12 that he would lay our foundation with sapphires or commonly called, “Blue stones”.

The color blue is symbolic of the Holy Spirit and the authority from heaven. Before our savior ascended, he told the apostles in Acts 1:8 to wait until they were endued with power from the Holy Ghost.

Now just as in the birth of Christ it had been the Holy Ghost who lay the miracle seed in the womb of Mary that Mary would one day give birth and call the young child Jesus, in a like fashion, the risen Christ must be accepted by those who have been called and on acceptance, this work is again relegated to the ministry of the Holy Ghost to edify and bring that person to maturity.

Now as we read Isaiah 54:12 we see the word carbuncle which originates from the Vulgate's Latin translation of the Septuagint's Greek term Anthrax - meaning coal and stood in reference to the red color of burning coal.

God said that the stones of your gates shall be red and the color red symbolize bloodshed hence death. We know that there is no other way to Jesus but by the cross and a continual crucified life.

At the cross, God pass judgment and His Son released himself over to death, so that by his death we are redeemed and by his resurrection we can have eternal life. Death cannot hold us if we endeavor to live a crucified life because it will not gain an opportunity. A crucified life is a life of obedience.

Obedience breaks the enemy’s back rendering him immobile.

Next we go on to the windows and notice that the windows are multi-colored from a stone called agate, for it is by the windows of heaven and not the door by which you receive heavens blessings.

Malachi 3:10 God says that when you meet my condition then I will “open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it”.

The questions is, have we been meeting those conditions?

The Wikipedia Dictionary gives us some background information on the stone “agate”. It says, “The stone was given its name by  Theophrastus, a Greek philosopher and naturalist, who discovered the stone along the shore line of the river Achates (Greek: Ἀχάτης) sometime between the 4th and 3rd centuries BC.[“.

And finally God says that he will teach your sons. God has put His anointing on the 5-fold and it is by their voice echoing what God told them and in agreement with the Holy Ghost which is upon us by which we live. God has given us his Spirit which agrees with the word of the Lord from God’s ministers. If there is no agreement then the word received should be searched out. God promises you great peace.

Isaiah 54:13 says,

And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children.
