Quid Pro Quo

Updated on November 12, 2013
a brand new day is coming
a brand new day is coming
what does tomorrow hold?
what does tomorrow hold?
A new universe is here
A new universe is here
a new roadway up ahead
a new roadway up ahead
a new moon is rising
a new moon is rising
winds of change
winds of change
On the wings of angels, news of a better day
On the wings of angels, news of a better day

A Future?

Quid Pro Quo in the Latin to mean, a complimentary "This for that",

apparently the standard of measure, in the congress's living, fat.

Is so common, "You scratch my back and I'll do the same in return",

instead of working and sweating, doing a job, justified wages to earn.

More time and effort spent in a common filibustering event, all it takes,

while many sit in slumber, as constitutional protocol, it so often breaks.

The Roman's had a superior model, in their own government, is true,

yet, has this country served the same, an honorable reflection to do?

The kick backs are rampant and out of control, as all there do extoll,

who is to comfort the poor widow, her children left out in the cold?

Just who will help the men in need, that served this country so well,

who spent their time in risking lives, their own bitter taste of Hell?

When will we ever to learn, that right and good should lead the way,

to forgive and forget the bad times, then to strive for a better day?

What does it take to help all to realize, the true meaning, in our lives,

perhaps someday, in future times, if we all are still secure and alive.

Tomorrow is a new day, let us take our lesson of regret, in yesterday,

reach for the shinning and new star we see, in what we do and say.

Our children's lives, now at stake, a better cause, for this, we have to try,

their rightful inheritance and love that we leave, this we should not deny.

Here's to the past and a better day to come for us all.
Here's to the past and a better day to come for us all.

Wow, very powerful! I believe you are right, we must do today for the child of tomorrow. They will reap what we sow. This for that. Thanks for the revelation and truth. Blessings.

Yeah! Faith has done it again. You have painted the picture of reality with words and at the end, made the sun come out bright and hopeful once again. You are amazing!

Agree with every word, as I work in the legal field and to top that off attempting to keep public officials and public employees ethical!!! Ha. What an arduous task to say the least, but at least we are on the side of attempting to do right, by attempting to keep all in line ----but some days one just has to throw up one's hands in the air it seems, as greed is so rampant. He paints a very good picture of all of this in His living and active Word . . . what men will be like in these last days, just out in the streets committing crimes, taking advantage of vulnerable women, and so on.

      Excellent and profound write.

      Voted way up and sharing

God bless. In His Love, Faith Reaper

Whonu, excellent! Your message is loud and clear, and as a poet you are at a higher level than most. It is a pleasure reading your work. I will refrain from speaking of politics because I am having a good day and why would I want to ruin it? :)

I agree, what a mess our congress has become. I heard on NPR once an opinion of a Historian who stated that he believed the true reason to the fall of Rome was the inability of the Senate to function. Jamie
