Stupid Things Republicans Have Said
The purpose of this article is to be intentionally inflammatory.
Are Republicans any more stupid than Democrats? Whether they are more stupid or aren't, generating stupid quotes won't prove very much as there are as many stupid quotes from Democrats out there as stupid quotes from Republicans. However, it's still fun to gather a bunch of stupid quotes in one place and characterize an entire group of people with them.
Remember, it's all in good fun.
- What Do Republicans Believe?
If you took 1,000 Republicans and generalized about what all of them believe as a group, this is that list of beliefs. In other words, the quintessential Republican believes these things.
- What Do Republicans Really Believe?
Republicans are a bunch of hillbilly robots and this is a list of the things they really believe.

"Many young people turned to drugs and immoral lifestyles; these became known as hippies. They went without bathing, wore dirty, ragged, unconventional clothing, and deliberately broke all codes of politeness or manners. Rock music played an important part in the hippie movement and had great influence over the hippies. Many of the rock musicians they followed belonged to Eastern religious cults or practiced Satan worship.” - from America: Land I Love (8th grade Louisiana history textbook, 2013)
"Women don't care about contraception." - Republican governor from South Carolina, Nikki Haley (2012)

They punish it. They corral people. They shame them. They do whatever. The institution for the expression of sexuality is marriage and all societies always shepherded young people there, what the Supreme Court said was forget that shepherding, you can’t block that, that’s not to be done.” - Tony Perkins, head of the Family Research Council (commenting on a 41-year-old Supreme Court ruling giving unmarried people the right to contraception, March 2013)

Maybe then you understand why white women need to be armed.” - Tweet by an Anonymous Fox viewer responding to Democratic strategist Zerlina Maxwell's appearance on a program discussing her article "5 Ways We Can Teach Men Not to Rape" in which she argued that whether or not she should have a gun is irrelevant to the conversation because the onus should not be on the woman to defend herself (March 2013)

I'll continue to add to this article as I find additional stupid Republican quotes, but I strongly urge readers to add their own and I will include them provided they have a source that I can verify.
