Need to Relax?
What can you do when you’ve had a bad day and you really need to relax, but you want to do it naturally?
There are quite a few things that you can do. It just depends upon your health, where you are and how much time you have.
One of the most well known tips that has been offered for generations by herbalists and doctors alike has been using the scent of real lavender to help promote calmness, but there are more simple and natural solutions that you can try.
First, See Your Doctor
Please ask your doctor before you try any of these to make sure these tips are safe for you to do because not everyone can do all of these.
You want to rule out any health problems that could make things worse.
How to Begin to Relax
Create a relaxing atmosphere if you can by having a cup of organic herbal tea; do some deep breathing; playing some soft, relaxing music then darken the room a little and grab a lavender sachet or dream pillow to softly scent the area and help to set the tone.
Roll Your Way to Natural Relaxation
Start out with a few very slow shoulder rolls.
A shoulder roll is when you shrug your shoulders up and then slowly bring them around First roll both of them to the front together a few times and then roll them to the back together at the same time. Then roll them one at a time to the front and then to the back.
These will help to relax you neck and upper back and can sometimes help to relieve a headache too.
If you feel any pain, stop and ask your doctor about it !
Get Your Head in the Game
When the name of the game is relaxation, start at the top.
Put a warmed towel across the shoulders and sit up straight and slowly allow your head to drop down to your chest while keeping your shoulders up straight.
Let the weight of your head pull it down for about 10 seconds and then slowly wag your head back and forth a little to loosen those muscles.
Make a little game of it if it helps by counting how many times you wag your head back and forth while you tell your stress to take a hike.
Now, you want to rest your neck and breath in a soft scent of lavender so sit back in an easy chair or recline on the couch and put a naturally scented neck pillow behind your neck for support and just relax and listen to the music for a little while.

A warm bath or shower can help to loosen up those tired muscles.
