Republican Governors Save America

Like a combination of Captain America, the Hulk, and Lex Luthor, Republican Governors have saved America from workers, liberals, welfare queens, socialists and climate scientists. Let's also give a hand to the Republican dominated legislatures for their help.

These governors go after public sector workers because any worker that makes more than minimum wage and isn't a safe Republicans vote must be taken down. While private sector employment has been slowly rising, public sector employment has been dropping. We have Republican governors to thank. Here is a short list of all they have done for the people of their states.

1. They have laid off public sector workers. By cutting education, safety and other public programs, Republicans have reduced not only the workforce but the power of public unions in the states. It has weakened one of the only reliable Democratic power blocks left.

2. These governors have given tax cuts to top brackets in a time of fiscal crisis to make budget shortfalls worse. By making budget shortfalls larger, Republicans can promote more concessions from unions and cut more workers in order to eliminate the budget shortfalls they helped exacerbate.

3. They have cut welfare programs such as food stamps in a time of need. By making people more desperate, workers will accept less and the governors' friends in major corporations can reduce wages or at least avoid pesky wage hikes.

Please believe it when they say they want to keep wages low to prevent inflation for consumers. It has nothing to do with their bottom line of maximizing profit so they can buy another resort home like those regular guy Mitt Romney owns. By increasing their disposable income through tax cuts, governors can dispose of unneeded teachers, social workers, mental health professionals and police officers.

4. Overall, governors have helped increase unemployment. All these cuts to programs and cuts to taxes have made it more difficult to pay for those outrageous teachers salaries, who after working only 60 hours a week make an astounding $30,000 dollars a year right out of college. By increasing unemployment in the public sector, overall unemployment remains stagnant. And while Republicans in the states are doing much of the job cutting, it’s all President Obama’s fault that unemployment remains high.

By keeping the unemployment numbers up and spending perhaps a billion dollars for Mitt Romney’s campaign in the fall, Republicans will win the White House and work on phase two of their take over of American: getting rid of reproductive choice, public education, the minimum wage, medicare and social security.

Republicans make all these cuts to keep American strong. As we have all learned, all the economic troubles in America are Obama’s fault, even if the recession started when George Bush was President. So remember to vote Republican in the fall and don’t let the government interfere with your Medicaid, veteran's health care, or police pension. The Koch brothers and their allies depend on it.

Peace,
Tex Shelters

Thanks Joe. The map and the Republican attack on public workers explains a lot about the current unemployment situation in the U.S.

Good grief, look at all that red. After seeing Ann Coulter on ABC Sunday Morning, I'm too disgusted to think much about politics these days.

I especially love how for all the money they save through either cutting peoples jobs or cutting programs...you can find that corresponding amount given in tax cuts to the rich. It's brilliant I tell you and Scott Walker is king!

I like the way you think. For crying out loud, when are police, firemen and teachers going to realize they are earning way too much money and the Cayman Islands simply can't handle much more of their cash? Furthermore, I don't know how he is doing it, but please tell Obama to quit screwing with the Euro and Asian markets...I mean geez, this guy is just ruining everything in the world.

      Great Hub.

Do you know what REALLY stinks? I work for a home care agency that is a non-profit agency, which also works with medicare/medicaid to care for those who live at home.

Because much of the funding is from Social Security type sources, if they don't get a raise, neither do I. If the cost of living goes up more than the COS increase, I still don't get a raise.

But, even though I'm not a public employee, my wages and benefits are shrinking with the Republican cuts to all of these programs. On top of which, of course, since my job is so easy (because the people I take care of don't get 24/7 care) I can do it by myself, from lifting people that weigh more than I, to being able to work like Superman on steroids by fitting in 3 hours worth of work into 2, they want me to work for minimum wage as well.

Yet they are protecting me by this, aren't they? Because as a woman who does a caregiver job, money isn't important, nor is my own health as a mother...

But no worry, I'm part of the forgotten.

Thanks for the laughs, I mean serious questions!

I agree with your thinking, of course. I also wonder how George Bush got the gas prices to go down recently even though he's not president.

      Thanks again.

Texshelters- I cannot wait until we get a Republican president! Think of all the new jobs that can be eliminated, um, I mean created! If those organic food eating liberals would just realize how much better the economy would have been if Obama would have let the car manufactures fail! I hate to admit this to my political Yoda, but I am confused on some of our talking points. I am hoping you can help me understand them better:

Why is Obama the most divisive president ever?

Gas prices started to skyrocket under Bush, who was an oilman, so why are high gas prices Obama’s fault again?

Obama is the worst president ever because….

Do you agree with me when I say that all we really need to do to win the presidency is remind everybody how great things were under Bush?

Do you agree with me that we should also point out that Republicans are trying to get rid of another useless government agency called The EPA? Think of all the great jobs that could be created if we could pollute more!

If corporations do not pay taxes, why are so many of them moving their home offices to other countries again?

In closing, I thank you for doing my thinking for me. If it was not for people like you and all of the corporate money behind you…I might have voted for my own self-interests!

Well textshelter....you get your message across very well with enormous amounts of sarcasm oozing from every sentence. I'm actually in favor of your style....because I appreciate sarcasm and humor....I can relate. I GET IT!

I much prefer humor, sarcasm and crazy riddles....to the 100% total bullshit that comes out of the mouths of Politicians. Thanks for the much-needed diversion & levity! UP
