Trump Is Not The Problem

The Republican party is imploding, hoisted upon its' own petard, and all they can do is blame the two insane narcissists that they have left to represent them in the 2016 presidential race. From a so-called "strong field" of 17 potential nominees, Donald Trump and Ted Cruz have emerged as the new standard bearers of conservativism in the 21st century. It is a sad and very scary situation for the party and especially the country. If you thought the 2012 collection of idiots and idealogues that represented the Republicans was the ultimate clown car, this is the invasion of the true nightmare clowns.

American conservatism has taken a very ugly turn since Barak Obama became president in 2008, shedding the denial of its' racist and mysogonistic past and embracing an open and mean spirited war on the progressive mood of the general population. They have been slapped around pretty hard in the last decade, what with the election of a black president, the passage of the Affordable Care Act, legalization of gay marriage and marijuana, and a spate of other intollerable tolerance issues that have turned against them.

They have had to defend the disastrous reign of George W. Bush and his wars that blew up the powderkeg of the Middle East and spurned Isis. They have had to deny any of Obamas' achievements and invent absurd falsehoods about his so called failures, all while obstructing him at every turn.

Media conservatives have turned into the screaming spoiled child that deserves a slap in the face, and they have no one to blame but themselves.(I'm looking at you, Sean Hannity). They have fomented this false reality for years; that the modern conservative is well informed and should be mad at the liberals, when the exact opposite is true. Fox News and conservative talk radio have not only enabled and expedited ignorance among the masses, they have encouraged it. A misinformed populace is the only solution for their warped and disingenouous agendas. You can only get people to vote against their own interests if you falsify the truth and scientific facts.

And that is what they have done, unfortunately in a very successful way. But now it has come up and bitten them in the ass, and they have to deal with what they have created.

Trump has gotten way more than 40 hrs free airtime by far. He's the darling of cable news. And if he gets in, money never goes away. Citizens United a right wing baby. They love money, hate women. The perfect storm of fascists. Pick SC justice that will overturn roe v wade. Money and men rule.

They all have to kiss ass and fall in line to get funding, and that is the tragedy of modern American politics. That is why we need to get the money OUT of the system. My idea is that we give the respective nominees 40 hours of free airtime on national TV each. (we do own the airwaves, so this would cost us nothing) and a 20 million dollar limit on spending for travel, etc.. This will eliminate all of the bullcrap ads we have to put up with and end the age of politicians beholden to their donors.

He'll fall in line quick, just like Sanders has done. They're finding out just how much you need big money donors....all this time both of them bashing Hillary for having connections. They're busy making their own. Showtimes over. Now they either play ball, or strike out. And you just KNOW they will justify their big money papa's and mamas, cause you know, they are SOOO anti establishment. SNARK

I'm shocked to hear that Paul Ryan isn't ready to support Trump. And what does Trump say? Instead of trying to reach out to Ryan and team up, Trump insults Ryan's policies! What a doofus. I am seriously amazed at how dense Trump can be!

IDK, Cruz picking Fiorina for arunning mate is a pretty stupid move! She is almost as hated as he is. Maybe he is trying to take two very wrongs to make one anti-Trump.

The Republicans are destroying themselves. Even the big money guys are no longer funding Cruz. He is posting a beg for money sign on his lecterns now.

Actually Reagan is looking like a saint when you consider the possibility of Lucifer In The Flesh becoming president.

Look, Reagan was an idiot who happened to be on watch when the Soviet Union figured out that what they were doing wasn't working.

George W Bush was a dangerous idiot because he surrounded himself with some truly evil people (many of whom should be sitting in Leavenworth right now for their war crimes).

Ted Cruz is not an idiot and that makes him the most dangerous of all.

Did you know Clinton is to blame for 9/11, and Obama is to blame for Katrina? Of course, Hillary went to bed knowing her friend was in danger and didn't care that he died!

      Don't you know these things??

But Bush and Cheney were keeping us safe by breaking the law, and Reagan was a Saint, even tho he was pro immigration.

Republicans are perfect, everything bad is laid at feet of Libtards, those America and troop haters.

It's all about the money trail. The Republicans throw crap around to hide the fact that they are robbing us blind. They blame Democrats for the recession that they caused themselves. They are imploding and I can't wait to see them all fired. Republicans are disgusting to me.

They come here for freedom too, like my grandfather. And i don't really subscribe to they all do it argument.

Many take money, few make policies favoring money.

As Jill Stein says, she's against corporate caputalism. There is such a thing as conscious capitalism, which we could easily practice.

There is no reason we have to be corporate capitalists.

      GREED

Of course it's about money... it's always about money in politics on both sides. We could have solved the illegal immigration problem decades ago if we chose to enforce the laws that were already in place. We don't have an illegal immigrant problem, we have an illegal employer problem. If we started throwing the owners of giant farms and hotel chains and restaurant chains in jail for employing them in the first place, they would leave as the jobs went away.

Guess whose benefitted? Business. The whole issue boils down to profit.

      No opportunity in homeland, why?

      Hoarding of few?

Come here desperate for anything, and who abuses it?

Why did business leave here? Was it not for more profit?

The whole thing is laid down to greed, and people blame others like themselves, instead of blaming those who take the money and run.

The whole world needs an enema. Old Hopi prophecy: Only after everything is gone, will we realize you cant eat money.

As a Kasich supporter and one who really does not like Trump or Cruz, I would like to take a shot at defending their voters, particularly Trump's voters.

Although there is certainly an element of racism in their beliefs, especially against Latinos, there is also some real economic pain. The largely white rust belt workers whose economic environment is shrinking, feel threatened. And when you feel threatened, you lash out.

Did the prejudice already exist when things were good? Yes. But it gets exacerbated when you see your future melting away.

I've been accused by several of Trump people of being pro-immigrant. That's okay w/me. Wear it proudly. But I do have a hard time refuting their argument that low cost immigrant labor has hurt American unions and the while middle class. I have to admit that and I wish the Dems would speak to them as well.

      Very true. Love this hub!

A couple of places where they win are suppressing women's and voting rights....that, they've been doing pretty well at.

It will be more of a nightmare than the last time it happened, if they get all branches of gvt at their command.

I'm shocked no one ever mentions this disturbing fact. Snark
