Republicans not to blame!

Updated on September 24, 2008

George Bush has been in office for 7 1/2 years. The first six years Bush was in office, the economy was fine.

A little over one year ago Consumer confidence stood at a two and half year high!

Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon on average across the United States!

The unemployment rate was a record low of 4.5%!

The DOW JONES hit a record high of 14,000 plus!

American's were buying new cars, new SUV’s, summer homes, taking cruises, and family vacations both domestically and internationally. Americans were living large and enjoying themselves! They owned homes and had a reasonable mortgage to pay.

Then mostly due to the war in Iraq, Bush’s popularity dropped and many American's wanted change! In addition, they did not look at the big picture.

So in 2006 they voted in a Democratic Congress and once that happened, as Americans we got change all right. Big Change!

Since that vote and the majority of congress are Democrats, consumer confidence has plummeted. People have stopped spending money freely and the economy has dropped because of it.

Gasoline is now over $4.00 a gallon and rising rapidly with no end in sight!

The unemployment rate is up to 5%, a 10% increase over pre- Democratic congress.

Most Americans have seen their home equity drop by over $12 Trillion dollars and prices are still dropping. Instead of Americans making money when they sell their homes, they are lucky to break even leaving them practically nothing to put down on a new house. Over 1% of American homes are in foreclosure because of rising mortgage costs.

The DOW Jones is probing another low at this very minute. Americans Stocks, Bonds, and Mutual Funds investment portfolios have evaporated by over $2.5 trillion dollars.

And all of this has happened since they voted in a Democratic Congress!

Yes indeed! In 2006 Americans voted for change by electing a Democratic congress. Well they sure got their change! Big time!

Now the Democratic candidate for President, Barrack Obama, claims that he is going to give Americans real change.
