SSSHHH...You're Not Supposed To Know This!

Flying In Under The Radar!

Ah, the irony of some things. I know. I know. I'm supposedly relentless about my pursuit over the many mistakes Obama makes and continues to make. Almost as relentless as the Bush bashers were but not quite. It really isn't like that though. What I expected, and haven't gotten more than a smidgen of (that's a tad for my northern friends), is for him to keep any of those lofty campaign promises he made so he, his squeeze, his mother-in-law and bambinos could move into the various bedrooms of The People's House on the tax payer's dime.

This past Monday was a busy day what with Smirky preparing to tell us why he entered an ill-advised war in Libya, Congress was gnashing their teeth over the American tax payer expecting them to seriously cut spending and putting the polish on his new pitch to push his green agenda. The timing couldn't have been better to fly one in under the radar. Stay with me, I'm going somewhere with this.

A couple of weeks ago, The Whine House put a hold on The Smirkster receiving the "Transparency In Government Award." I found that odd, at the time, since the arrogant one has never been embarrassed about accepting any accolade, as witnessed by his acceptance of The Nobel Peace prize for just breathing the same air as we all do. I thought he might be embarrassed about receiving that award since he hasn't produced on the transparency front either. But no, it was a matter of timing and low flying.

Maybe you have heard, or maybe you haven't, that there was a private, secret gathering of officialdom where he accepted the transparency award in private. It wasn't on The White House calendar, it wasn't announced to the press nor were any in attendance or allowed to be. How much more utterly transparent can the man get? Even the usual over-the-top, slobbering love affair Huffington Post was critical of the hypocrisy that was once again exhibited.

What should have been an honor has turned into another slip on the nanner peel. The people who were in attendance, that group of wise sages who advocate government in the sunshine, were even a bit miffed that it came down like it did. Gary Bass, the director of OMB Watch, pointed out the irony of the whole fiasco. He was in attendance, one of very few. His basic question was, "How absurd can this be?" I have to agree with that assessment. How about you?

Bass was assured prior to the ceremony that the affair would be open to the media. Now understand that the award is a presentation made by journalists. Kinda like having the door slammed in your face, isn't it? It wasn't until he arrived that Mr. Bass was informed that this was a hush-hush, no press allowed under the radar presentation. To further the irony, the original presentation was to be made on March 16th which coincidentally is National Freedom Of Information Day. That one was cancelled at the last minute with no explanation. So much for the dissemination of information, though it was listed that time on The Whine House's calendar. Maybe next year they'll think twice about who they bestow their award upon.

There's a wealth of information out there in Cyberland about this administration's lack of transparency That's not the focus here. The people who are behind the award were deceived about the circumstances of the ceremony - no press pool allowed and no print reporters inside the room. It was by secret invite only, not on any schedule visible to the public and another one flew in under the radar. This administration might be capable of putting a stealth bomber to shame. The latest hubba-hubba about this issue involves The Department of Homeland Security's lack of transparency. Further reporting will follow on that issue. Seems the transparent administration isn't so transparent after all and is drawing fire from all quarters.

If you're disappointed once again by Obama, please don't be. Those of us who did our research prior to his election had a pretty good idea of the nature of the beast. If you didn't, please next time do your homework - 2012 is just around the corner. Let me close with one of my favorite videos. He covers "transparency" here along with 6 other lies in under 2 minutes.

My fellow Americans, next time be a little bit more careful about what you wish for. How can transparent can anyone be who conceals his or her past? Just be honest with yourself as you watch the clip. How much of what he said has been in the pudding? That's where the proof lies my friends - in the pudding.

Have an awesome day!.
