SSSHHH...You're Not Supposed To Know This!

Updated on April 1, 2011

Flying In Under The Radar!

Ah, the irony of some things. I know. I know. I'm supposedly relentless about my pursuit over the many mistakes Obama makes and continues to make. Almost as relentless as the Bush bashers were but not quite. It really isn't like that though. What I expected, and haven't gotten more than a smidgen of (that's a tad for my northern friends), is for him to keep any of those lofty campaign promises he made so he, his squeeze, his mother-in-law and bambinos could move into the various bedrooms of The People's House on the tax payer's dime.

This past Monday was a busy day what with Smirky preparing to tell us why he entered an ill-advised war in Libya, Congress was gnashing their teeth over the American tax payer expecting them to seriously cut spending and putting the polish on his new pitch to push his green agenda. The timing couldn't have been better to fly one in under the radar. Stay with me, I'm going somewhere with this.

A couple of weeks ago, The Whine House put a hold on The Smirkster receiving the "Transparency In Government Award." I found that odd, at the time, since the arrogant one has never been embarrassed about accepting any accolade, as witnessed by his acceptance of The Nobel Peace prize for just breathing the same air as we all do. I thought he might be embarrassed about receiving that award since he hasn't produced on the transparency front either. But no, it was a matter of timing and low flying.

Maybe you have heard, or maybe you haven't, that there was a private, secret gathering of officialdom where he accepted the transparency award in private. It wasn't on The White House calendar, it wasn't announced to the press nor were any in attendance or allowed to be. How much more utterly transparent can the man get? Even the usual over-the-top, slobbering love affair Huffington Post was critical of the hypocrisy that was once again exhibited.

What should have been an honor has turned into another slip on the nanner peel. The people who were in attendance, that group of wise sages who advocate government in the sunshine, were even a bit miffed that it came down like it did. Gary Bass, the director of OMB Watch, pointed out the irony of the whole fiasco. He was in attendance, one of very few. His basic question was, "How absurd can this be?" I have to agree with that assessment. How about you?

Bass was assured prior to the ceremony that the affair would be open to the media. Now understand that the award is a presentation made by journalists. Kinda like having the door slammed in your face, isn't it? It wasn't until he arrived that Mr. Bass was informed that this was a hush-hush, no press allowed under the radar presentation. To further the irony, the original presentation was to be made on March 16th which coincidentally is National Freedom Of Information Day. That one was cancelled at the last minute with no explanation. So much for the dissemination of information, though it was listed that time on The Whine House's calendar. Maybe next year they'll think twice about who they bestow their award upon.

There's a wealth of information out there in Cyberland about this administration's lack of transparency That's not the focus here. The people who are behind the award were deceived about the circumstances of the ceremony - no press pool allowed and no print reporters inside the room. It was by secret invite only, not on any schedule visible to the public and another one flew in under the radar. This administration might be capable of putting a stealth bomber to shame. The latest hubba-hubba about this issue involves The Department of Homeland Security's lack of transparency. Further reporting will follow on that issue. Seems the transparent administration isn't so transparent after all and is drawing fire from all quarters.

If you're disappointed once again by Obama, please don't be. Those of us who did our research prior to his election had a pretty good idea of the nature of the beast. If you didn't, please next time do your homework - 2012 is just around the corner. Let me close with one of my favorite videos. He covers "transparency" here along with 6 other lies in under 2 minutes.

My fellow Americans, next time be a little bit more careful about what you wish for. How can transparent can anyone be who conceals his or her past? Just be honest with yourself as you watch the clip. How much of what he said has been in the pudding? That's where the proof lies my friends - in the pudding.

Have an awesome day!.

The only thing transparent about this guy is his overwhelming arrogance and his ability to lie, lie, lie. The video is actually painful to watch. I need a Bloody Mary! Voted up and awesome.

Hey, FP. Is that image at the top of the article a Pac Man icon---or are you intending to make a veiled reference to the KKK? You have to be careful nowadays. We are supposed to have more civility in our political dialog. This article of yours is really not very civil at all. It's offensive. President Barack Hussein Obama is transparent---so transparent that you can see right through him. So what's your problem? Be a good guy and take this post down. Remember, it's all about being civil now. Can't we all just get along?

Great Hub, but we all know Obama has his own dictionary. His interpretation of the word "transparancy" is obviously different than ours.

carpe - Nope! That's a ghost old friend. Being a TPM type of guy, like you, we are used to having that racist epitaph thrown at us. You know me, we were together at 912 and you know I'm not a racist in the least.

I think my discourse is a lot more civil than the attack dogs that one can find on various forums. We've both experienced that also. The criticism leveled at any politician just might be well deserved. Bush took many a lashing so now we have a new, unimproved model to deal with. Iffin ya know what I mean.

Chuck - I think we have moved well past this guy being funny. He thinks he can be but I'm never amused.

Poolman - If you look the word up in Webster's, I can assure you his picture is NOT there.

Not being a licensed shrink I cannot guarantee the following psych DX is classic on all the symptoms, but Obama appears to be a victim of OPD.

Opposition Personality Disorder manifests when the victim takes the opposite side of any issue which arises, including those which the victim has promoted on a regular basis im the past. The victim will never admit to the discrepancy. The symptoms can be inconsistant just after onset, but become more apparent and consistant over time.

And, as we all know, the current CIC must always be the victim of SOMETHING!

      Hey Frog

Look on the bright side; at least they didn’t lock Bass in a broom closet?

As for the War vs. Green conflict, I saw the Green speech; you know the one in which he introduced his new slogan to replace Drill Baby Drill; you know, Blow Baby Blow! Kinda has a nice ring to it doesn’t it; fits right up there with Hope and Change in describing this Regime!

As for Transparency this Regime is every bit as transparent as the previous great Marxist Regime, the Soviet Union. And our present MSM is as engaged as Pravda was; maybe slightly more. I don’t remember any Soviet Reporters Peeing on their legs but of course in the former Soviet Union it could have happened but froze before they felt it!

As for pudding; I believe Moochell prefers Cake; or at least she prefers we eat Cake!

Frog, this setting POTUS has many boarding ramps as to where someway to get on and follow him about waiting for the next blunder, most actions, so far, that many seemed shocked over are things he announced in 2008. People were not listening, or charmed into blindness at the polls by the speeches he gave written by a very talented speech writer of 24 years old, or racist? This dude's locked himself in the control room. The American people are at the door kicking and beating the door like crazy, and he's busy at the controls doing as much damage as he can before the door comes crashing down.

That door will come down in 2012, and we've got some rope.

50 Caliber - I've been familiar with Reverend Manning for quite some time. That's a black man talking about another black man straight up. I admire Manning for pointing out the truth. People got mesmerized about the nice words of hope and change after 8 years of Bush. Many people who voted for Obama were voting against GWB. That amazes me because he wasn't on my ballot.

The video put together by the soldiers is very powerful and as close to the truth as one can get. Thanks for sharing that with our readers.

This is weird even for the O'man. "A private, secret gathering of officialdom where he accepted the transparency award." Ignoring from the insipid irony, what possible reason could there be for secrecy? Is there a legal "eligibility test" for transparency awards? Are the required supporting documents under seal? Sometimes I think this guy is becoming unhinged.

Yes he said he was going to close gitmo, end the Bush tax cuts for the rich, reform Wall Street, and give the public options on their healthcare. Like all presidents before him he didn't deliver, but he tried. He even tried the transparency thing and realized that anything that he said or did was attacked and twisted by big money interest on the corporate level. He couldn't even be transparent about Libya because whatever position he took was attacked even if it was the same position as the attackers. Many tea party supporters who are grassroot, everyday people are begining to see the transparency of the Republican party and that their interest will not be served by the GOP in 2012. The winner is decided in the end game, not the middle of the game.

junko - We all know what he said. He also said he was going to change the way Foggy Bottom operates. Now for those who bought all the snake oil he was peddling, one should realize that they were sold a bill of goods. One person isn't going to change the way the power brokers in DC have been doing business, especially one as inexperienced and unqualified as Obama. As I am fond of saying, "My fellow Americans, next time be sure you do your research before you walk into the polling place."

On the positive side, we are now beginning to see, based upon this past November's election results, how to change the way business is done in Foggy B. You change more than one face and we've just begun.

Thanks for your comments and contributing to the conversation.

Stu - My experience in the military taught me many people want to dodge the leadership bullet rather than take one. That atmosphere seems prevalent these decades throughout Foggy Bottom. It seems to have evolved into a popularity contest rather than addressing the problems we now face.

Making the hard decisions aren't going to win you any fans, but lets look at what is at stake. The best leaders in history have had to take the bullet occasionally when they have to make the harder out, rather than the take the easier path.

      Frog,

You're right, too many in Congress are fixated on votes and money. That's one of the reasons I like the TPM candidates. They support taking the hard path we need to take, and don't offer earmarks for giant campaign contributions. The difficulty is getting enough of them in office to control Congress. This could take many election cycles.

"Nobel Peace Prize" - did he win that for invading Lybia without Congressional consent? Maybe the War Powers Resolution is on hold, like the Tenth Amendment. Obama acts like no aspect of the Constitution or federal code applies to him personally. That's DICTATORSHIP.
