Selling Dead Babies: What Are We Doing?

Updated on July 15, 2015

Recently, a video surfaced with Dr. Deborah Nucatola, senior director of medical services for Planned Parenthood, explaining with remarkable ease how aborted babies are harvested for body parts. She is recorded saying, "We’ve been very good at getting heart, lung, liver, because we know that, so I’m not gonna crush that part. I’m gonna basically crush below, I’m gonna crush above, and I’m gonna see if I can get it all intact.”

This statement should bring tears to your eyes. We are talking about babies! Before you tell me that it is not a baby, it is a fetus with no value, let me remind you those babies are clearly worth something in the eyes of Planned Parenthood. They are making a profit are they not? It is impossible to make the case that unborn babies, yes babies, have no value. What makes a life valuable?

In the world's eyes we typically define a person's value by what they contribute to society. Who is to say that one of those babies would not provide us with a cure to cancer or AIDS, perhaps one would solve our current energy crisis, or maybe one of those babies would have grown and united the world in unprecedented peace? We will never know.

While the world defines value based on what a person contributes, that definition does not go far enough. King David writes in Psalm 139:13-14, "For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well." This Psalm explains where true value is found. Value is not ultimately found in the contributions one makes to society. Honestly, how many of us will truly make an impact in the eyes of the world? Value is found in the fact that we are fearfully and wonderfully made by the very hand of God. We are knit together by Him in our mother's womb, and we bear God's image. This is where our value is found; humanity being image bearers of God. I would be hard pressed to believe anyone would argue that an unborn child is not human. Therefore, every life, in the womb or out, is valuable, and we must see them as such.

It is not that these innocent lives have no value, it is that we are stripping it from them as we end their lives while comforting our consciouses by using words like fetus and tissue. These are precious and helpless children.

We must oppose this incredible injustice, and the people of God must do more. Christians need to act. For too long Christians have hid behind cliche statements like, "I'll definitely pray about it." Do more! I'm not saying we don't need prayer, we most certainly do. I believe deeply in the power of prayer. What I am saying is do not cower behind it. God has called us to go and fight the spiritual battles of our age with the truth of the gospel, and to proclaim a message that changes hearts and minds. We do this while protecting the innocent and fighting for justice.

We must oppose this incredible injustice, and Americans must do more. America, as a whole, despite our differences, must realize the heinous act we are committing. We are culpable. Planned Parenthood receives nearly half a billion dollars of government money annually. Where do you think that money comes from? Our tax dollars. We are culpable! We must be a nation that cries out against this injustice and fights to protect the lives of the helpless. We are hypocrites if we fight for racial, social, and religious equality, and willingly turn a blind eye to the mass genocide of our day. We have no right to decide which lives matter. If babies lives don't matter don't you dare say any other life matters. If we can decide one life does not matter, than no lives matter.

Oh, I pray that we would see the error of our ways. That we would never be content with the reality that since Roe vs Wade there have been 58 million abortions and climbing in the US. Not only that, we are selling their body parts like butchers.
