Someone Reminds President Obama That We are A Country Of Laws

Updated on March 1, 2011

Someone Reminds President Obama That We Are A Country of Laws

We know from our current President’s pedigree that he had a stellar education… gained from walking the respective academic halls of Columbia and Harvard Law School; yet, it is because we are privy to our President’s August education why we are left scratching our heads when President Obama disregard the basic governing principles of our fair republic: the first branch of our Democracy, the legislature under Article One, authors the laws; the second branch under Article Two, the Executive (President), executes said laws; and the Judiciary under Article Three, the courts, interpret the laws.

A couple of days ago, our brilliant, Harvard trained, lawyer President told the Justice Department to no longer enforce the laws recognizing that marriage is between a man and a woman. But as is the wont of President Obama, he thinks that we are so stupid that he coupled his edict to the Justice Department, by first saying that, he himself still struggles on the issue on whether marriage should be between a man and a woman, but that he doesn’t think the laws sanctioning marriage only between a man and woman is Constitutional – it is classic waffling by President Obama or what I have coined as the Marie Antoinette way of governing… you know… ‘having your cake and eating it too.’

This is not the first time President Obama has disregard the basic tenets of our Constitution; we all remembered how he favored the union workers… by displacing those who owned equities in Government Motors, oops, I meant General Motors when doling out the bail out monies and subsequently deciding who will be first in line for remuneration. As an attorney, and especially one who taught Constitutional Law, President Obama should intimately be aware of the import of the concepts and tenets of Contract law, which has been part of our laws for over 230 years.

This is not about my bias - my being a Traditional Christian - concerning the marriage issue; this is about the rule of law… where no one, not even the President can dictate what he thinks the law should be – not even our brilliant, secular messiah, President. By the way, Mr. President, who do you think you are fooling… with your supposedly fulsome adherence to traditional marriage? Lest I forget, all of Hollywood and the vast majority of the gays supported and are still supporting your Presidency. Let me once again convey a fact about the great Roman Statesman, Marcus Aurelius, who once employed a Roman citizen to remind him that he was only a ‘man’ and not a ‘God’… it seems an apt reminder for our President.

OK TCP - but I am afraid of the entity which will take the corps' place... I have seen the empirical evidence of the corps replacement's failure from the old Soviet Union to Havana. Don't you find it ironic that COUNTRIES IN EUROPE - Germany, France, and England are cutting social programs and installing fiscal responsiblity endeavors akin to Republican ideals?

      Hi TCP:

You speak in absolutes when it comes to the corps - that is unfair. Who in their right mind would condone all that they do - but at the same time... look around at the amenities entrepreneurs have created under the banner of a corp- Apple,Intel, Boeing, and Heinze in your own home state, etc.

If only you would look at what folks like the Koch's, etc worship.

But you're too busy listening to their mouthpieces. . .

      Verily:

I have no disdain for corps, just the immense political power they hold.

Or do you and Jon really want to live in a "Corporate State"?

Millionaires can't take their money with them when the Lord calls,if you believe in a god THAT'S JUST.

MONEY and POWER is truly the root of all evil in the world today.

      Hi TPC:

I spent over an hour last night reading your blogs and I must tell you that you have Palin, Corps, Rush, and Beck forever on your mind. Incidentally, I too have been unemployed for over two years and you are telling me if a corporation were to call you for a position, you would refuse (seeing how you have such disdain for them)? As for the Christ conddemning the wealthy - let me enlighten you: Nicodemus was wealthy; Joseph - who loaned the Disciples the tomb where He was buried and was raised from dead - was also wealthy; The Zebeddee brothers(Two of his own disciples had servants, meaning that they too were wealthy; and Peter was a fisher man, not too shabby a vocation for that era. Shall we go to the Old Testament: Abraham; Esther; Isaac; Jacob, who became Israel; David; and Solomon... all were wealthy. What Did Jesus say, Abraham was happy to see his day and that before Abraham was, I Am. Do not confuse the scriptures, which admonished us about 'the love of money,' etc. In addition, Nancy Pelosi, the Kennedys; John Kerry, Dianne Feinstein - all are millionaires and I have the feeling that my wife, my mother, my mother-in-law; my brother, Wayne and my two sisters all give more to charities than those Democrats and probably rich Republicans, per capita.

It will, from the power of corps, their CEO's and their mouthpieces.

Also, look at how many times Christ condemmed the wealthy and powerful. . .

You are welcome. A secret, when you are attacked respond with simply the truth. It really drives the radicals wild. Sign off with ''the truth will set you free''.

LOVE AND PEACE ,something the world is having difficult with today.

You are attacked because you mentioned the attack word '' Beck''.Don't take offense in the hub world, sometimes the attacks just show one the ignorance of our fellow man.

      Here's a quote that I recently used.

It is best to be silent for someone to think you are a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

      GOD BLESS

Now, I have never understood why resort to personal attacks, but I am trying to live the Christian life, which doesn't condone my doing the same to you. I have worked hard to attain my GED and subsequent law degree, but lest I should boast keep the discourse peaceful because you may think that the Gospel of Christ Jesus is nonsense, but it is what will keep the peace were you to meet me in person because you wouldn't have wanted to meet me before that... with the personal insult and all...

Instead of Hillary, we the people got the first black president in candidate Barak Hussein Obama. He taught constitution law in Chicago, was a neighbor organizer, a Illinois Senator, a member of the US Senate and today the President of the United States.

Really, besides all of the above why weren’t we told or the news media report his relationships with the unions and associations with other radical groups . The change that he campaigned on was not what the people expected in his first 2 years in office. President Obama promised a transparent government. It was reported on 2/25/11 that Whitehouse staff has been meeting off site with special interest lobbyist. Obama did say he would rid Washington of the lobbyist if elected. President Obama has met in the Whitehouse with the presidents of SEIU, AFL-CIO and George Soros who financially support radical groups throughout the world

The Whitehouse visitor record is not always available when requested by watchdog groups, wonder why!

The world is in turmoil and Obama advocates overthrow of heads of governments, our foreign policies are in turmoil, the US economy hasn’t rebounded as promised , multi $ billion deficits have not created employment and most of his promises have been broken or produced a negative result. He has managed for the government to control 60% of the economy with the assistance of a majority Democrat controlled Congress. How many times have we heard members of Congress say ‘’we are a nation of the rule of law ‘’ and then disregard the Constitution that they pledged to uphold.

      Hi TeapartyCrasher:

First, I have never listened to Rush, but, yes, I am a big Beck fan. By the way, Beck agrees with you concerning the 4 and 6th Amendment, but I have no problem with water-boarding (breaching the 8th Amendment) to save your life and others or listening in on terrorist conversations under Fisa, which, inncidentally, was kept under Obama). By the way, I am not a tea partier - I am an Evangelical Christian. And believe it or not, I am capable of independent thinking...

Of course, when we have a Supreme Court that decides that corps have free speech rights, and a president who decides that the 4-6th Amendments can be suspended in the name of "Homeland Security" what would you expect.

Of course, that's not part of the 'Tea' that the corps feed you through the likes of Beck and Limbaugh.
