The Most Dangerous Job in the World

The most dangerous occupation in the world is to be a farmer in South Africa. Thousands of them have been exterminated in ‘land related violence.’ The media in the West ignores the crimes because its victims are Caucasian Christians. They are often attacked on their way home from church on Sunday. The farmers and their families will be tortured, the females raped in front of the males, and all of them murdered in cold blood. Arrests and convictions are rare.

History of South Africa

The majority of the people in South Africa are of the Bantu tribe. They are not indigenous to South Africa but migrated there, as did the Europeans. Long before the first white settlers came to Africa, the Bantu were killing Hottentots, Bushmen, and each other.

The Dutch founded Cape Town in 1652, safely 1,000 miles from the nearest Bantu. Shaka Zulu (1787-1828) considered the Dutch settlers (Boers) the proper owners of the Cape. These pioneers built a civilization south of the Orange River that was virtually devoid of blacks at the time. North of them were 800 distinct clans of Bantu. The Africans had not much use for a rocky coast or a sandy beach. They had no ships and had no ports. They were not seafaring people.

In the 19th century, millions of black Africans were killed by other black Africans in tribal warfare, in the borderlands north of the whites, and cannibalism was widespread. Millions more moved further north to escape the fighting, leaving a hundred mile wide belt north of the whites unpopulated. The Boers were very attentive to land ownership. They purchased large tracts of that land from tribal chieftains, who were happy to sell it.

Apartheid

Prime Minister Malan introduced Apartheid in the early 1950s. Blacks and whites were to live in their own neighborhoods; marriages between them were prohibited, as was fornication. Across Africa, blacks had always segregated themselves according to the tribe to which they belonged. South Africa was like an oasis of peaceful, orderly, clean, law-abiding civilization amid a continent of madness, chaos, and violence. They aimed to keep it that way.

The white settlers from the Netherlands and Britain who created South Africa and developed it into the only modern state in Africa were, of course, outnumbered on the continent 200-1. They were by the 1980s also outnumbered even in South Africa ten-to-one, due to massive immigration by blacks looking for work.

South African industries had begun to boom in the 1960s, and the demand for labor soared. Time magazine reported, “The blacks of South Africa are better off than anywhere else on the continent. Every year countless thousands of blacks from nearby countries flood into the republic looking for work.”

Apartheid was “a strategy for survival,” proclaimed Prime Minster Verwoerd: “We shall fight for our existence. We are fighting for the life of our people.”

Apartheid ended in 1994, but still today everything that goes wrong in South Africa is blamed on Apartheid, even though the young criminals have never lived under anything except black rule.

Under Apartheid, black people had it better in South Africa than anywhere else on their continent. Millions of black people moved into South Africa during Apartheid and rarely did any move out. Unemployment is twice as high now as it was then.

We all know how horrible Apartheid was, as we have been lectured about it endlessly, and I would never excuse it because I love freedom. But under it, average black income doubled, black population nearly doubled, the number of blacks going to school almost tripled, and life expectancy for blacks improved from 38 to 61 years. Since Apartheid ended, life expectancy has declined by nine years.

The African National Congress

The African National Congress (ANC) has ruled South Africa since 1994. What it has in mind today is expropriation: the forcible transfer of white homesteads to the blacks who covet them. The ANC’s Freedom Charter states: “All shall have the right to occupy land wherever they choose.”

We are not just talking about land, as in dirt. Some ‘land’ may have a million dollars worth of buildings on it, and a million dollars worth of farm machinery, not to mention beautiful homes, and world-class agriculture developed on it. The land has been scientifically and intensively cultivated. In other words, the land has been improved over the course of many lifetimes, through decades of hard work, and mountains of investment, making it worth far more than just a patch of wild grass.

Also slated for expropriation are white-owned businesses, stock shares, patents, and residential homes.

What is happening now is, a tribe will decide it wants a farm, and hundreds of squatters will simply move onto it. They cut fences, steal crops, defecate all over the place, defile the drinking water, torture and kill livestock, terrorize the farmers and their families, before they oft times kill them. In one year, well over 100,000 cattle worth $50 million were stolen.

White Farmers have already abandoned millions of acres of some of the best farmland in the world. The Left in the West heartily applauds this. The problem is the blacks that seize the land do not know how to grow food. They are used to kraal life. Much of the land they have taken now lays fallow, the buildings and equipment going to ruin, creating nothing for its new owners or the country. South Africa now imports more food than it exports for the first time.

Ninety percent of farms that have been ‘redistributed’ are dysfunctional, according to one observer. Another says there has not been, in fact, one single case of a successful farm takeover.

Reports Aidan Hartley in The Times of London: “Once productive maize fields now grow only weeds. Citrus orchards are dying, their valuable fruit rotting on the branches. Machinery lies about rusting. Irrigation pipes have been looted and farm sheds are derelict and stripped of roofing. Windbreak trees have been hacked down and roads are potholed.”

Affirmative Action (BEE)

South Africa has its own version of Affirmative Action, known as BEE. Its function is “to take jobs away from one group in order to compensate a second group to correct injustices caused by a third group who mistreated a fourth group at an earlier point in history,” according to Edwin Locke.

Under BEE, white males can be no more than 10% of the employees in any public or private entity. One result has been that 1/3 of city administrators in the country are now illiterate, in charge of billion dollar budgets. Only 1% of black students pass math in high school. Famous black journalist Mathatha Tsedu admits, “It pains me to say this, but my African colleagues who manage large companies or government departments tell me that to get a job done, you usually have to employ a white.”

The idea is the same old leftist thing of redistributing income and wealth to make the world more ‘fair.’ With the usual results: Real income for blacks in South Africa, who have been given increasingly large pieces of the pie, have dropped 20% since blacks began to rule the country—and poverty among blacks has doubled.

How can that be? The pie is shrinking, partly because more than 800,000 whites (15% of them) have been forced to flee the country of their birth and with them goes enormous stores of expertise, ingenuity, and acumen. Whites with advanced college degrees who remain, find themselves with much-higher-paid black bosses possessing 10th grade educations.

The old police force was got rid of, replaced by a politically correct, multicultural police force, a move loudly cheered by leftists in the West. But now crime runs rampant and millions are spent on private security forces to protect the new police stations. You read that right. To protect the police stations from criminals.

Crime has gotten so bad the government stopped keeping statistics. They don’t want to know. And they don’t want you to know.

Every year, about a hundred miles of cables are stolen, causing chaos on roads as traffic lights go out, while passenger trains are stranded, and power outages plunge whole towns into darkness.

Bantu Village

Nelson Mandela

No man has been more glorified in the Western press than Nelson Mandela. What is not mentioned is that he was a Communist – National Socialist to be exact – and a terrorist. He led the terrorist organization, the MK, and can be seen in a 1992 video singing, with raised, clenched fist, the chorus to the MK theme song: “We the members of the MK have pledged ourselves to kill them, to kill the whites.”

That song is still widely sung across South Africa at political rallies.

Mandela was sentenced to prison for life for sabotage and conspiring to overthrow the government in his younger days. What is less well remembered is that he was offered his freedom if he would only promise not to commit any more terrorist violence, which he refused to do. Even Amnesty International considered his organization terrorist, as did Western governments.

Power in South Africa was not taken from the whites. They voluntarily surrendered it in 1994. In polls taken in the late 1980s, 67% of whites said they wanted to share political power with blacks, even though “they knew their conditions and quality of life would go down.” Eighty percent of them expected their physical safety would be threatened. But they wanted to end Apartheid anyway because they felt it was just the right thing to do.

But the whites did not want Mandela to rule over them. They preferred and hoped for another black man, Dr. Mangosuthu Buthelezi, leader of the Zulu. It was not to be Buthelezi. It was to be Mandela and his ANC, even with the support of only 3% of white voters, who were around 10% of the population.

It is also noteworthy that only 35% of blacks thought they should to rule over whites, and only 25% of urban blacks said they desired a majority-black government.

Nelson Mandela
Nelson Mandela

Colonialism

Now Western leftists routinely blame white men for all the troubles in the world. When asked why black Africa is the most violent and dangerous part of the planet; why black Africans rape, torture, and massacre each other to no end, the only acceptable answer to a leftist is: Colonialism. So when Arab Muslims commit genocide in Darfur it is the fault of long dead Europeans.

That is because, as Ilana Mercer explains so well: “In the progressive’s universe, crimes are caused, not committed. Perps don’t do a crime, but are driven to their deeds by forces beyond their control. Crime is caused by deprivation not depravity.

She adds, “The paradox at the heart of the root-causes fraud is that causal explanations are invoked only after bad deeds have been committed or failure is a fait accompli. Good deeds and success have no need of mitigating circumstances. Confronted with people who perpetrate evil and live chaotic lives, lefties will toss free will to the wind. American pseudo-intellectuals have been tireless in developing the ‘science’ of excuse-making, where misbehavior and aggression are seen as a symptom of oppression.”

Are we not witnessing the willful destruction of the only First World country in Africa because of racial hatred?

Is it truly just a coincidence that South Africa was the only white-run country in Africa and also its most prosperous by a long shot?

Were black Africans treated worse in South Africa by whites than they were treated by their own black brothers in other sub-Saharan African countries?

Is not all of Sub-Saharan Africa a Third World continent except for South Africa, its only industrialized country?

Did not most of the blacks there today immigrate there (or are the children of immigrants) because the standard of living was better for them in South Africa, even under Apartheid, than in the surrounding countries?

In other words, they are far less the natives of SOUTH Africa than the whites whose families have been there for hundreds of years?

Is it not true that black South Africans even under Apartheid were better educated, better clothed, more literate, and had a higher standard-of–living compared to other black Africans?

South Africa Today: What's Going On?

In 2010, the ANC changed the Firearms Registration Act to disarm whites. Thus, white farm families were forced to relinquish their last line of defense against the tens of thousands of criminal gangs roaming the countryside armed with AK47s. As Genocide Watch observed, “Disarmament of a targeted group is one of the surest early warning signs of future genocidal killings.”

The movement to confiscate white farmers' land is led by the communist Julius Malema, who says “All whites are criminals,” and that his ANC Youth League members are going to take ALL the land In South Africa without compensation. Malema told his supporters he was “not calling for the slaughter of white people—at least for now.”

The transition from Apartheid to democracy has visited upon the white residents of South Africa all manner of evil. Far from being a post-racial paradise, to which the abolition of Apartheid was supposed to lead, the ruling ANC — the party of Nelson Mandella — is no less committed to structuring society around race than were the Apartheid-era Afrikaners.

There is, however, one critical difference between South Africa under majority black rule and South Africa under minority white rule: “More people,” Ilana Mercer informs us, “are murdered in one week under African rule than died under the detention of the Afrikaner government over the course of roughly four decades.”

In 2012, Genocide Watch concluded that there is a coordinated campaign of genocide being conducted against white farmers: “The farm murders, we have become convinced, are not accidental. It was very clear that the massacres were not common crimes, especially because of the absolute barbarity used against the victims.

“The world knows little about the savagery that accompanies those killings. Many victims, including women and infant children, are raped or tortured before they are killed. Some have boiling water poured down their throats, some are burned with hot pokers, and some are hacked to death with machetes, or disemboweled. Several others have been tied to their own cars and dragged for miles.”

But to those on the Left, these people deserve what they are getting because of what their forefathers might have done. If you read between the lines, the Left thinks they deserve to be driven off their land, raped, tortured, murdered and mutilated—because of the color of their skin.

The ANC celebrated its 100th year anniversary a few years ago with a song sung by President Zuma that he calls, "Shoot the Boer." The song clearly violates the South Africa Constitution, which “prohibits the advocacy of hatred that is based on race and that constitutes incitement to cause harm.”

President Zuma was caught tape on singing, "We are going to shoot them with the machine gun, they are going to run. You are a Boer, we are going to hit them, and you are going to run. Shoot the Boer.”

Recently, Reuters reported that South Africa's Parliament has voted to seize white-owned farmland, that has been in the same family for hundreds of years, without compensation, and give it to blacks. According to Newsweek magazine, this has, predictably, led to a wave of violence against white farmers, with one murdered every few days. The police ignore it and the government seems to encourage it.

Let us remember that the thousands of white farmers who have been brutalized are flesh-and-blood human beings. Some have suffered unspeakable violence at the hands of South African thugs. This crime epidemic is motivated by racism, animus toward whites because of their skin tone, a deep seated racial hatred that is both encouraged and, particularly in the case of the legions of white Afrikaner farmers who have been forced from their lands, sanctioned by the African National Congress.

It is politically correct to pretend atrocities have not been taking place, and to smear anyone who mentions them. But is it not racist to support racial retribution by punishing the current generation of white males for the sins of their forefathers?

The argument is that the white Africans have more than their share. The same argument was made in Germany in the 1930s, only that time it was the Jews who had too much money, too much influence, and too much control over the culture and the economy.

An acquaintance of mine who is South African sent me a letter about this Hub. I will post it here:

      James Watkins

Very good; excellent in fact, but some embellishment:

‘Bantu Tribes’ not ‘Tribe’ comprising the NGuni and Sotho language groups; consisting many tribes eg ‘Zulu’, this comprising of a number of Sub-tribes or Clans (I was taught by an old Zulu) united by Shaka at the time of Mfecane. This period has a ‘confused history’ regarding the building of the present Zulu Nation.

Boers obtained land in three Republics Zuid-Afrikaans Republik, (by occupation of vacant, purchase and conquest), Oranje-Vrystaat Republic (by occupation of vacant, purchase and conquest), and Republic Natalia (by purchase and conquest)

You missed (British) Colonialism, the First Anglo Boer War where the Boers hammered the Brits, the Second Angela Boer War where the Brits has to invoke their whole empire and only prevailed due to Lord Robert’s scorched earth/Concentration Camp policies, 1910 Union of South Africa, the Boers ascendency and finally domination

of the Public Service (lost the war but won the peace?) into 1948 apartheid following General Election where Smuts Administration (SAParty) was defeated by hugely gerrymandering DF Malan NatParty)

Apartheid was a Social Engineering ‘experiment’ to allow different peoples to develop within their own communities. It’s results (despite the legislation designed to regulate the influx into industrial growth areas (such as influx control which originated way before 1948 under Colonial rule) (and hare include Rhodesia’s Ian Smith ‘qualified enfranchisement polucy) were way better for the black population than anything tried by Colonial Masters on the African Continent, either during such occupation, including their so called ‘Democracy’ in abandoning their Colonies with dysfunctional and indecent haste, (Perhaps Diasporic, Oligarchic, Kleptocratic, Nepotistic, Xenophobic, Tyranny ie ‘Shithole’ is more appropriate)? Certainly Apartheid being described as a Crime Against Humanity at the ‘2002 Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court’ was a latter day contrivance to allow a continuing ‘victimhood narrative’ to be better purveyed by these ‘victims’.

A short note on Expropriation without Compensation! This applies to, but is not limited to, ‘land’! It will also likely apply to ‘Property’; ie dwellings and mineral rights! (Including Intellectual Property etc etc?).

Affirmative Action (AA) and Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) are two completely different things.

Here’s a little note on the subject:

Instead of just methodically dismantling institutional racism, (Petty Apartheid) the only real scourge in SA society, the ANC, with its ‘dysfunctional Governance’, rushed in, ‘accentuating the negative’, in a misguided frenzy of ‘indiscriminate dismantlement’ of mistakenly perceived evil, and in so doing, in 26 years, have effectively destroyed South Africa, rendering their greatest, and almost only, success of vigorously changing names, and building some mostly substandard housing for unregulated, ‘population explosion urbanizing’, (and most still in shacks), squatters; (Pity they couldn’t match ANY of the 26 years of ‘Apartheid development’!?)

To this dysfunctionality must be included incurring indebtedness (costing R55 000 per second in interest) for each South African of R55 693!! (E&OE, new information being processed) (And only 12% contribute to the fiscus?)(and still so many unemployed, unemployably ill educated and poorly housed!)

Starting with Mandela, a saint who we initially trustingly thought did no wrong, and buggerall right aswell, firstly instituting ‘Cadre Deployment’ (And, applying it to all levels of ANC Majority Government, not realizing the danger that, ‘The dumber a person is the more they think they know’!?), and,

“If you don’t know that you don’t know what you’re supposed to know, you invariably think that you know everything there is to know”?!),

Such ‘Deployed Cadres’ initially supposed to be a Management System of ‘leading Political Commissars’? (On Head of Department Pay Scales and Fringe Benefits) but, enamoured with their newly gained ‘power’ (Amandla), AND in the absence of any ‘functionally directed Head-office control’, (because Luthuli House and the rest of the ‘alliance’ had none), took over both technical and commercial management of their political portfolios!

This was closely followed by ‘Affirmative Action’, a system designed to ‘uplift an American Black minority’, (see my upcoming ‘Reparations for Slavery’ post which has immense sociological reference), but they all lost the plot because Jesse Jackson et al had painted them a glowing, if impractical and dysfunctional picture!

Then Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) and the rest of the (115) racially biased legislation!

Together with the foregoing ‘incentives’ this drove 900 000 highly skilled, competent, professional, technical and managerial whites, (the cream of South Africa’s Intellectual Capital) thus displaced, to emigrate!

The following Thabo Mbeki Administration perpetuated these aforementioned discriminatory follies, and led by his Minister of Health Dr Mantu Shabalala Msimang denied HIVAIDS existence, interposing the National Intervention of Nutritional Support comprising Garlic, Beetroot and Madumbis and so their Sub-Sapiens actions killed mostly their own; how many???)

Then followed the disastrous Jacob Zuma Administration; (the jumped up cow herding, mathematical prodigy, who was so taken with his damn self-importance that he decided to walk in front of the King), and who later lamented “I didn’t steal a Rand from SA government, I only took what belongs to me as the president of the country. If money goes missing in a house, you cannot ask the father of the house where the money went to. All the money in the house belongs to him.”

And lastly the Cyril Ramaphosa (Renewal) Administration, forced by an acceding to the EFF’s new ‘they stole our land lament’ to move towards Constitutional Amendment to enable Expropriation Without Compensation (of any property?), a work presently God help us, in progress!

‪Duress? Just because their forebears thought mirrors were good muti, beads were prized possessions, and hair dye kept you young, and a small amount of ‘conquest’, they now have the dysfunctional ‘Marxist revolutionary gall’ to blame the whites for the ignorance of their ‘semi-indigenous’ Bantu Ancestors’ of their mostly ‘offer and acceptance innocence/ignorance’‬!!

In salutation of the fact that you can’t even effectively run a bath, never yours etc,

      Sverre James Wichstrom.‬

Martie Coetser ~ You are quite welcome. Thank you very much for taking the time to read my article. I appreciate receiving your correspondence as well, hoping I would hear from someone like you who currently or recently lives or lived in South Africa.

I am sorry to hear that you do not see a bright future for your country. That is sad, especially since it was once quite advanced among world nations, and certainly the most advanced in Africa.

For the record, I did not rely solely on Ms. Mercer's book, whose father Rabbi Ben Isaacson was a noted anti-apartheid activist before it became a fashionable and safe virtue-signaling pastime. You can verify this about her father here: https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1987-03-19...

My journey in writing this article did not begin with either of them but with run-of-the-mill news articles that have been coming out in the US, England, and Australia about what is going on over there in South Africa with the land expropriation, particularly of farmers.

Ms. Mercer's book was recommended to me by a South African only to fill in the back story - not what is happening now. Of course, since the book is 12 years old, it could not have told me what is going on now.

I am sure you agree that taking someone's land because they have white skin is racist. If you wouldn't take the land if the farmer had black skin, it is racist to take it only because the farmer has white skin.

Thank you for zooming in on my country, but sadly, the perception and view of your primary source is terribly narrow and typical that of the far right, racist, supremacist, ignorant and arrogant white South African who refuses to study and comprehend the black side of SA's history.

The views, propagandas, utterings and behaviour of Ilana Mercer and kie incite only hatred, and even the narrowing of more minds.

In your shoes I will add a disclaimer right at the beginning which stresses that the entire article is the perception of narrow-minded, racists and ignorant white South Africans.

But again, thank you for your effort to understand the very complicated past and present of SA.

Do I have any hope that SA will grow into a peaceful prosperous country? NO. Or at least not in the current centuary. 80% of SAfricans, if not more, still have to evolve into wise, open-minded, and altruistic humans.

I am so sorry to read that your once world-class country is now going down the tubes. It does seem to be true, as you say, that "These black outs are entirely caused by ineptitude, corruption, thievery and the ousting of almost all experienced and qualified white personnel from the state electricity utility."

I see that you added: "All of this is simply and incontrovertibly the result of the ANC, once classified as a terrorist organization and currently the largest "legal"criminal syndicate in the world, and the ANC policies of excluding white people from government or state-owned entities."

Hello Pollyannalana!! It is great to be back writing Hubs again. I have missed doing them while concentrating on my books, # 4 of which is in the oven. Thank you for the warm welcome.

When I was a boy, my father had a saying he'd say fairly often: "It's a sad world, son." It didn't seem sad to me. I was a kid. When I asked him what was sad about it he said that when I grew up I'd see it. And so I do.

Awdur ~ You are welcome. Thank you for being the first to read my new article and the first to comment on it. You always were the early bird.

Sadly, South Africa appears headed the way of Zimbabwe, formerly Rhodesia, once called "the breadbasket of Africa" but now living through famine because they do not know how to feed themselves.

I wrote this article because I had been reading about troubles in South Africa lately and I have two friends from there. My cousin by marriage, Cliff Retief, a descendent of Piet Retief, a very famous South African pioneer, is one. Cliff's whole family got out 20 years ago because things were already getting bad, getting dangerous. And my brother Paul has a young pilot staying with him whose family just got out of South Africa last year. He says it is horrible there now for white people and that his family felt in constant peril.

On the other hand, my HubPages and Facebook friend, Tony McGregor, still lives there and he says that what my cousin and brother's roommate say is nonsense. He says everything is great there and anything that isn't great is the fault of whitey, and that anything that happens to white South Africans is well deserved for the sins of the past. Not that anything is happening to them.

Maybe I should have put this in the Hub as an intro! :D

South Africa is currently experiencing rolling black outs for hours at a time, euphemistically called "load shedding" by the ANC government. These black outs are entirely caused by ineptitude, corruption, thievery and the ousting of almost all experienced and qualified white personnel from the state electricity utility.

The black outs are so severe that the possibility exists that state supplied, piped water may soon cease as a result. The country will be without electricity or piped water.

All of this is simply and incontrovertibly the result of the ANC, once classified as a terrorist organization and currently the largest "legal"criminal syndicate in the world, and the ANC policies of excluding white people from government or state-owned entities, as well as a failed education system that only requires a 30% aggregate in most subjects to pass.

Imagine a country being run by people who only require 30% to pass at school?!
