Teacher Give a Kidney To Her Student, Real Hero

Updated on October 14, 2011

Kidney is the important part of our body. Has several function as a Excretory tools. including filtering the blood to produce urine; excrete substances that harm the body. What happens if we lose one of our kidney? I can't imagine that. What will you do when someone asks you to donate your kidney? you will think thousand times to do that. Especially for someone who is not your family.

There is a teacher in US willing to give a kidney to her student. Because the student asked her to donate. And this was really happened. Like we ask something to "Santa Clause" and the present given to us. Her name is Jennifer Mazzotta-Perretti.

The story begins in the class discussion with the theme 'doing good' in a class held in Hempstead, New York. A student aged 19 years, Kevin O'Brien asked the teacher, Jennifer Mazzotta, Perretti, 'Will you give your life for others who don't know you well? And the teacher answer "yes, I will ". I will help my student just not in theory but practically, said Jennifer. Kevin was very happy and lucky to have teachers like Jennifer. I think she is become a hero for her student. As a teacher I am very surprise with her brave to donate her kidney.I am not certainly can do something like this.

A little About Kindey Transplant

Kidney transplant one effective therapy for end-stage renal failure patients. to get a transplanted kidney will not be easy. Because it's hard to find a suitable kidney for the patient's body. One of the biggest reasons for someone to refuse to donate kidneys is due to concerns about post-transplant medical condition. Healthy kidney come from individuals who are still alive (living donor) or who had recently died (cadaveric donor). This transplanted kidney will take over the two kidney function which damaged. New England Journal of Medicine reported that people who had donated a kidney to someone else not increased the risk of kidney failure.

organs donor especially kidney from someone who was still alive was increased recently. With the number of patients who need kidney organs (from living donor). Rarely case for someone who donate their kidney and it fits. A potential donors must pass a series of test first.Ironically in developing countries many case in selling kidneys illegally. mostly for economic reasons. without thinking the future impact. I found some advertisement through the local newspaper in my country offer the kidney. Maybe because the global economic crisis make the people decided to sell their kidney.

Back to the Jennifer story. If you get offer to donate one of your kidney, what will you do? Do you accept this offer? With million dollar price maybe. Let's talk this topic together.

In the UK many people carry Donor cards to bequeath various organs after their death. Donating when you are alive is usually only for someone you are very close to. Well done teach.

thanks for all comment. As a teacher I give "two thumbs up" for her. Not only for heroic action. But She gives an example of good behavior to us. Rarely people do something like that without any compensation. Like H P Roychoudhury said there is Angel side bring this into reality. I appreciate with all comment and I agree with all of you.

She is a wonderful woman. It is very sad to think that people feel the need to resort to selling a part of the body but I know how desperate life can become. You don't know what you will do to survive until you are put in that position.
