Team Romney Lost Because They Believed Their Own Hype!

They're Still Fuming!

Did Romney lose, because President Obama, "gave" gifts to minorities? Or was it because, he was out of touch, with the changing demographics, of the country?

Carl Rove

Romney, his team, Carl Rove, and all of those who voted for him, were so shocked, when he lost. It was, as if they had been hit by a Mack truck, a hurricane, or an earth quack! (And the earth for them, did quake!). They were so shook up...they were in complete and utter denial. Carl Rove, keep saying, all the numbers weren't in yet, hoping against hope, that this was just a bad dream, that he'd soon, happily wake up from. But it was not to be.

Other, Republican pundits and talking heads, suggested, foul play was in the air! They were all so deep in denial, they were coming up with, all kinds of wild accusations, to assuage their disbelief.

Romney's Self-conducted Polling

Team Romney's, self-conducted internal polling, had Romney leading Obama in New Hampshire and Colorado, and they were feeling pretty confident, that Romney would win those states and the election. They were just as certain, that Romney would win North Carolina, Florida, Virginia, New Hampshire and Colorado.

But, boy were they wrong! Their polling had Romney, tied with Obama, in Iowa, but Romney lost Iowa by about 6 points. The reason their polling was so skewed, was because, they turned a deaf ear and a blind eye, to the winds of change, that were blowing in this election, which actually started, with Obama's win in 2008. They, overlooked, or didn't think, it would make a difference, that the demographic makeup of country and of the voters, had changed, and continues to change. That's, why, their polling was so out of synch with the voting public.

They Insulted Women And 47 Percent of the voters

The Republicans insulted women, who make up half the electorate, with their "legitimate rape "comments . They were, insensitive to Hispanics, who are fast becoming the largest minority group in the country, with Romney's comments, about Hispanics "self-deporting" themselves. Romney, ignored, and expressed disdain, toward the working class, blacks and the poor, with his "47 percent" of the voters, are moochers comments.

Shedding Voters Left And Right

They, were shedding potential voters, left and right, but were too blinded by their self-assurance to see it. They, thought that the momentum Romney gained after the first debate, would push him over the top.

They, thought, it wouldn't matter if Romney, changed his position, like a chameleon, to suit, whatever audience, he was trying to win over at the time. He had the momentum, the white vote, and billions of dollars backing him. They, were sure they could win, with just the good "ole boy" white vote, because, (as they thought) with a bad economy and...lets not forget... with an unpopular (as they saw it) black president. How could they lose? They had this thing in the bag! Romney had his victory speech written, and ready to go!

White States

Wrong again! Because, in the predominantly white states of New Hampshire, and Iowa, the voters chose President Obama, over Romney by about 6 points.

They couldn't believe it! How could that be!

Giving Stuff To Voters

After, Romney lost, he went into seclusion, to lick his wounds. But, then, still reeling from his defeat, like a punch-drunk boxer, trying to account for his lost, he came out of hiding, and said that, he lost the election because, President Obama gave gifts to minorities!

Romney told hundreds of donors, during a telephone town hall, Wednesday, "The Obama campaign was following the old playbook of giving a lot of stuff to groups that they hoped they could get to vote for them and be motivated to go out to the polls, specifically the African American community, the Hispanic community and young people," "In each case they were very generous in what they gave to those groups."

Really? Really? That's the only reason you lost? No wonder he lost! That's so funny it's sad!
(Isn't that what politicians do, promise to give voters something in return for their votes? Didn't Romney promise not to raise taxes to get people to vote for him?)

Tree Trunk And It's Branches

The, reason Romney, his team and supporters, were so shocked that he lost was because, they had their heads were so far up the tree trunk, they couldn't see, its branches!

Is that because they're still self-deceived?

The headline says it all! Either the Republicans wake up, or they continue to self-deceive and lose elections. Which is fine by me. On the other hand, the country could use an intelligent conservative party, not this group of extremists, Tea Party types, and anti-gay, anti-immigrant, and anti-women's reproductive rights fools & fear mongers. Good show.
