The AmErIcAn Struggle

Updated on December 31, 2015

Silent, constant struggle for rights that all humans deserve with love and respect.

This is a country of immigrants

.Yet we are all divided by the very notion that brought America together, ironic much?

I am a target.

Of pre-assumed thoughts, preconceived notions, and stereotypes.

Look at my skin. What so you see?

Do you see a well-tanned man? Or just another young black man?

My features may scream danger beware.

But if you truly look closer my heart shines right there.

I’ve strived to live above what people think.

But it’s hard in a nation of thinkers with few links.

Race is not a full blown war,

It’s a constant struggle for more and more,

Acceptance.
