"The Buddy System a Great way to Barter for Services"

Updated on November 4, 2009

"The Buddy System a Great Way to Barter for Services"

When I was a young mother , I had a couple of real good friend ladies that would help me out in a pinch and I would do the same for them.  The Buddy system works the same as the bartering system and the only difference is you're providing services in return for services.  If I needed a baby sitter my friends were there, and of course I always returned the favor.  If I needed some to pick up something particular at the market or drug store, because I had something else I had to my friends were there to take up the slack.

We used each other services for years, doing things for each other, if someone got in to a pinch an cloud follow through  on something.  Mind you, you will have to a some very special friends that will do things for you or the Buddy system will not work.   One day I went in to labor at home and I had to get to the hospital so I called up one of my friends and the came over to cook a meal and watch the other kids until my husband came, but she also stay longer; so he could come to the hospital to see me and the baby.

My saw to it that my kids were fed and bathed, and put to bed so when my husband went home he only had to take care of himself.  The next day my other friend came by and cooked a meal and helped out with the kids, ; I got help for three days that I was in the hospital.  my friends were truly a blessing to me and my family.  On one occasion I house watched and kept my friends dog.  I even went to a PTA meeting that one my friends couldn't attend, so it's the little things that count.

It's really great if you have true friends that you can truly trust with your life, your husband , and your kids.  I know these kind of friends are very hard to come by, but every now and then God will send you a blessing in a good  friend;  this is the time that  love you cherish them to end.  A true friend will help you i times of need and you should be able to do the same in return.  you can't be the one to get these services all the time and you never do anything in return.

I don't know some of you might already be using the Buddy system, but not calling it the Buddy system and that's okay; as long as there is an understanding on how the system works for each of you.   The Buddy system is a great tool to have  made available to you and to have at your disposal.

Hello, hello, and BkCreative took the words right out of my mouth. It's rare to see this today though. Due to extreme circumstances, so many are just out for themselves. If you have a friend like this, you'd better hold on tight to them.

This is how we all used to lived - with great women friends - in our own extended village!

Now we all have to work long endless hours and move from place to place in search of income - leaving so many friends behind.

But this sharing - this reciprocity, it works!

This hub is a nice tribute to friendship!
