The Betrayal Of Israel

Updated on March 3, 2015

The Betrayal Of Israel

What President Obama did today did not come as a surprise to me or I suppose to any of us who call ourselves Traditional Christians – yet the betrayal of demanding Israel to give up land and negotiate a peace within the confines of the 1967 borders was stunning. No one can convince me otherwise about President Obama’s sentiments, expressed or tacit, concerning the Jewish State... for our President’s feelings are manifested in the fact that our Commander-in-Chief has made treks to Middle Eastern countries and hasn't seen fit to pay a visit to our chief ally in the area.

I will not mince words… I am biased towards Israel because I am compelled to do so by many an edict from my God… codified in the Good Book and lest you think that I am being partial in picking on President Obama, I would have taken the same position had any Republican Administration sought to splinter the Jewish State, or moreover, that this long sought foreign policy posture had the chance of becoming a reality… like it is apparent now.

It is true that many of those who have sought to bring peace to that ‘cup of trembling,’ so deemed by the Bible, meant well, including our current President… but they do so because they do not believe the warnings in the Bible of depriving the Jews of the land of Israel. Such a decision of confiscating Jewish land becomes easy because we have breached so many of the edicts of the Bible: we essentially call God a liar because He considers same sex marriage an abomination or we murder babies in the wombs and chalk it up to “choice” – so the breaching of the edict about the Jewish ownership of Judea, Samaria, and Jerusalem is rather academic.

Someone please educate and tell me why is that Herod’s Temple, destroyed by the Romans in A.D. 70, doesn't give credence to the fact that the Jews owns Israel -- was that temple erected after 1948 or why is it the Arabs do not want archaeologists to dig in many areas of the West Bank (Judea and Samaria)… fearing that artifacts found, as has been the wont, would substantiate the Jewish claim to those lands? I personally need no carbon dating or so called empirical evidence to know that Israel belongs to the Jews, especially Jerusalem, but I know of the dire consequences that will befall the country or the man who will be the contemporary Benedict Arnold to the ‘Apple of God’s Eye.’

As a Traditional Christian, I know that the Bible tells me that all the world will abandon Israel, but because of my genuine love for America, I was hoping that the betrayal was way in the future. It is even more grating that many of the Jews living in this great country are suicidal concerning the fate of Israel… believing that they can carve out a peace with the other half of Abraham’s children. And those of us who are Traditional Christians also know that such a peace will be brokered by the “Lawless One,” as detailed in the Good Book. If, Israel is indeed splintered, due to the influence and efforts of America, woe to her.

The die is cast and I, along with the other Traditional Christians, will watch and see how the main instigator, the United Nations and the rest of world, scheme to once again try to destroy the Jewish people under the auspices of “peace.” Incidentally, anytime now, I expect the Mexicans to ask for Texas back or for us to cede Alaska to the Russians or the Virgin Islands to Denmark - why not, it has paid Midas dividends to the Arabs.

Thanks Feenix - We are admonished to pray for the peace of Jerusalem and no matter what I or you think about the issue, His will be done. Those of us who are versed in the Bible know how He feels about that situation....

Verily Prime, you have spoken what I describe as The Truth. Not that I was surprised either, but I was very upset when I heard Obama laying out his "plans" for Israel.
