The Defiant One

Updated on November 10, 2014

Manny Comes to Breakfast

Good Morning, Breakfastpoppers. Today is Monday, November 10, 2014. Our soulful friend, Mantis Manny, is at the breakfast table this morning. He is very troubled, although not surprised, by President Obama's defiant attitude towards the Republican sweep. All indications are pointing to a very rough two years going forward. President Obama clearly doesn't give a damn about the American people. Manny has asked me to extend an invitation to all of you to join us for breakfast. Manny will be preparing Breakfast Tacos. He has suggested to me that if President Obama gets his way, tacos will replace Mom's apple pie as America's iconic comfort food. We hope to see you soon. I will be serving Bloody Mary's. You are going to need them.

Executive Amnesty

Thank you all for joining me this morning. President Obama, in complete denial and defiance, has kicked the results of the mid-term elections aside and is ready to "go it alone" once again. If any of you were expecting a more contrite tone coming from the White House, I have a bridge I need to sell. It has been announced that President Obama is thoroughly prepared to aggressively pursue immigration reform with an executive order. He has always made it plain that he finds Congress to be an impediment to his socialist agenda. With two years left to go, he has decided to "transform" our nation once and for all with the action of a pen and an arrogance that knows no bounds. "Immigration reform" in the president's view is wholesale amnesty. So much for being bound by the Constitution. He has announced that he and he alone has the authority to enact laws he deems best for the country. To hell with Congress and the American people, the King has spoken.

Holding Obama Accountable

The Republican controlled Congress and the American people simply cannot allow President Obama to hijack the country. There are laws in place written by the legislative branch that are against amnesty. President Obama has consistently ignored our immigration laws, opened our borders and set up the United States to fail. He and his administration plan to grant amnesty to about 34 million illegal aliens in the country. He has invited aliens into our country who have brought diseases back to our shores that we eliminated decades ago. The Republicans and every responsible sane human being regardless of party affiliation have to see the recklessness of his plan. His actions reach far beyond the original intent of executive orders. They cut right into the rights of every single citizen in this nation. Granting amnesty on this level would change the demographics of our nation forever. In the end it will bankrupt us both financially and spiritually. Our national spirit will be broken. Our country will be inhabited by people who don't possess the necessary skills to make it in America. The burden of caring for all of the needs of these people will fall on the American taxpayer. It is going to break the bank.

A Break With Reality

President Obama seems to be experiencing a break with reality. He just can't seem to accept the election results and what they say about the will of the American people. Life under Obama hasn't been good for this country. People have suffered horrific job loss, the trashing of their insurance, and now the real possibility of taking on millions upon millions of people who will be on the welfare rolls in a New York minute. We have lost the respect of the world and that fact alone places us in a very vulnerable position. President Obama has shown our enemies that we are weak. We have become a nation that talks a lot and does nothing. Our country is under attack by madmen who are determined to take over the world, and the American people are under attack by an administration that has been deaf, dumb and blind for six long, unbearable years.

Peaches Anyone?

We have to clean up the mess that the Obama administration has foisted upon us. We need to do it immediately. Dragging our feet is not an option. We know what has to be done. We have had 6 years to think about it. When the new Congress takes over, progress had better be swift. The White House Press Secretary, Josh Earnest, has taken the time to remind all Americans that President Obama has the power of the veto. Perhaps it is time to remind Josh Earnest and President Obama that the American people have power, too. We proved that in the elction. If that alone doesn't stop President Obama then impeach him. He won't be missed.

Manny's Song

The moment I wake up

Before I stretch my wings

I say a little prayer for America.

      Good Morning Francine,

      Clearly, Obama detests our nation. Things are about to get worse. Congress (at least the sane members) had better stop him. See you at the Inn.

      Dear Pino,

      Obama has lost his mind in my humble opinion. The Dems were devastated and he is incapable of facing the truth. His massive ego simply won't allow it. As for your veils, get them in working order... See you at the Inn.

      POP: Sorry I am late.

      Obama cannot get out of his own way. Now he wants to listen to the 2/3 of the voters who did not vote! WHAT???? He knows how to spin the facts. As for the Republicans, they better not blow it! WE have two long years with this guy. I cannot wait until he is gone!

      WOW Maven is back. I think I need to iron all my veils and get ready to dance.... Now, off to the Inn....

      My BS meter is very high right now. It's Bloody Mary time...Slip the juice to me, Bruce...Put a gallon in me, Allen....Make Obama go away, OJ...

      Dear tirelesstraveler,

      It is possible that the lack of too many dead voter swung the election in favor of the republicans. Obama can hardly wait to get the millions of illegal aliens and terrorists voting!!! See you at the Inn.

      Hey I hear areas requiring voter ID lost a whole group of voters. There were far fewer dead people who voted than the passed.

      I don't even have a Costco card because I didn't want them to photocopy my driver's license for their records.

      I also don't have a library card.

      Today the US Postal Service got hacked. Good thing that I have an unlisted street address. lol

      Show is OK.

      Dear bradmaster,

      The problem is that Dems want everyone to vote and vote often. Protecting the sanctity of our vote is secondary to politically corrupt people who want to keep the Dems in power forever. I have always firmly believed that anyone who offers up an argument against voter I.D. is a fraud. The argument is insane! See you at the Inn. You may have to show your driver's license to get served!

      This comment may be too long, but I think that it is very pertinent to the immigration issue. I have no problem if you decide that it is too long and don't post it.

      The problem with immigration stems from the adoption by the left and president Obama that residency in the US, no matter how obtained is equivalent to US Citizenship. Illegal aliens for example are treated as de facto US citizens, while people from other countries that go through the existing immigration process are treated like foreigners.

      The left is against any photo having to prove US Citizenship for voting purposes. Ironically, they interpret such a measure as an act against liberty. This reinforces my opinion that residency suffices for citizenship, at least that is the view from the left.

      According to the left, the question of requiring a valid photo ID to vote in an American Election has been answered by the courts as unconstitutional.

      But the grounds for this decision is the burden of presenting a birth certificate and getting a photo id that certifies citizenship.

      The SCOTUS has become political and it is no longer anything but a political machine.

      The SCOTUS and its 5-4 decisions are ridiculous. Yes, it still determines the law of the land, but it doesn't mean that it is doing a good job or the right thing for the country.

      For deciding the supreme law of the land, shouldn't the opinion of the four dissenting judges be utilized. A percentage of the 9 justices should be closer to that required for an amendment rather than a simple majority.

      The democrats, who would gain from these illegal voters, have claimed that it would disenfranchise the poor voters. The courts have likened it to a Poll Tax." - My response is

      Here is one argument from the left.

      There are many in this country who, for whatever reason don't have picture ID. It has been a standing principal of liberty that, unless there is reasonable cause, no citizen need identify themselves, which is one reason there is no universal picture ID card; its simply against the grain of our founding principals. Also, in the many surveys that have been done over the last several decades, the instances of voter fraud are infinitesimal and where it has been found to occur, it never even came close to affecting the outcome.

      My response

      How many poor people don't get state and federal aid?

      We are asked to identify ourselves everyday by being forced to identify ourselves with a SS number.

      The problem with SS references is that they don't really protect our privacy, as in the case where hackers can use this number against us. Yet, the courts feel no obligation to protect us in that case by not using a number that was created for SS purposes only to be expanded for as a national identity. This expansion was done to a base that existed long before the use of computers, and long before it was mutated to an alternate purpose.

      Another argument from the left

      We were founded on the idea that the People, in their contract with the government,

      What contract is that? Certainly it is not the constitution, as that would make it a unilateral contract. This is not a contract in a legal sense.

      Another argument from the left.

      The fact that voter ID has always caused more harm than good makes it clear why all but the most conservative courts rule against it.

      What FACT?

      What is the problem with keeping the constitution by proving the requirement of citizenship to vote in a US election.

      What Harm? The good is protecting the constitution.

      What is made clear? There has been no proof that providing a valid photo ID would be difficult for anyone to do.

      Here is the requirement to get a library card in Anaheim Ca

      Required field

      * Name (Last): (First): (Middle):

      * Driver's License or ID Number:

      * Birthdate (mo/day/year): / /

      * Phone:

      * Email account:

      * City: * State: * Zip:

      Here is what is required to get a California ID card.

      Two types of identification

      In California, there are two types of ID cards, a regular ID card valid for up to six years, and a senior citizen ID card valid for up to 10 years. (Must be 62 or older to apply.)

      Obtaining a new ID card. To apply for an ID, first, you should plan a visit to your local driver's license office.

      your Social Security card and $8 - free for a senior citizen ID along with:

      Certified U.S. birth certificate (or) U.S. passport, Certificate of Naturalization

      Certificate of Citizenship, U.S. Certificate of Birth Abroad, Resident Alien Card

      Valid foreign passport with valid U.S. immigration document

      You may also need an additional form of identification if one of the above documents does not contain a photo.

      What is a California state ID?

      A state ID is an acceptable replacement for a drivers license typically used by minors, the elderly or by anyone who does not want a drivers license, but still needs identification in California. For more information on how to get an identification card in California

      Requirements to get Welfare in the US

      To be eligible for welfare, an applicant must be a U.S. citizen or lawfully admitted to the country for permanent residence. Some exceptions might apply to citizenship rules. When an individual applies for welfare, his or her citizenship status is reviewed, along with the status of each household member, before assistance is granted. Each state also has its own residency conditions that must be met. For example, to be eligible in Pennsylvania, an individual must be living in that state and have the intention of remaining there.

      SS Number

      A SS number is needed for someone to receive welfare benefits, even for a child.

      As of 2012, many states were considering additional eligibility requirements. For example, some states were debating whether applicants should have to be drug tested on a regular basis. Other states were considering requiring photo identification for someone to claim a welfare check. Some states also were discussing whether recipients should have to perform community service.

      As for welfare

      US Welfare System - Help for US Citizens

      Federally funded and governed US welfare began in the 1930s during the Great Depression. The US government responded to the overwhelming number of families and individuals in need of aid by creating a welfare program that would give assistance to those who had little or no income.

      So my point is that all of these programs require US Citizenship.

      So they could technically provide the necessary voter id information that they are US Citizens.

      The only step might be to get a photo.

      Which the states already provide for people that don't have a driver's license.

      If you are poor, you are probably already on welfare, so what is the problem?

      Dear Rachael,

      I'm am happy to see you at the breakfast table. Sadly, we have twisted the meaning of almost everything in this country. Come here illegally and get a get out of jail card off the backs of the taxpayer. It is going to be a rocky road these next two years. Congress (at least the sane members) had better get a grip on Obama and the situation. See you at the Inn. We need to catch up!

      I've been on hiatus the last six weeks and going through some issues that have me seriously questioning the prison system and immigration system in the US. Life doesn't mean life anymore, it means 25 years then parole. Immigration means once again - bring me your tired, hungry and weary and I will give them hope. The check for TB and other diseases at the border is seriously lacking, hence Ebola strikes us at our home turf.

      Your take on Obama is in keeping with my thinking. We have 2 more years to sweat out in the Lodge, let's hope we have clean towels every once in a while from Congress.
