Good Things About the EPA Doing Their Jobs

Updated on October 7, 2017

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) must be allowed to do their job to the fullest extent. Environmental, public health, and safety issues are the major factors as to why they should be allowed to exist and do their jobs.

1. Air Pollution

Air pollution can be invisible or visible airborne pollutants with the impact of smoke, smog, and ozone.

Fossil Fuel plants are the primary creators of this besides motor vehicles. EPA regulation can prevent the impact of fossil rules in various ways. Caps on use being the very best way at the moment.

People, especially energy providers, do not like the idea of this. It is cutting back on production. And because of that, they don't like the EPA along with many other people. However, regulations need to be made for our own benefit. If we go without regulation we may damage the air permanently

No one wants to be reduced to having to wear a mask when go outside. As with all trends, someone will most certainly put an extremely high price on the masks due to fashion. And what will get really annoying is the high-end make, which will be incredibly expensive ones made by Chanel or some other designer.

Anyway, the EPA is put in place to protect the air quality in the United States. These things can not go unchecked and without restrictions or it will be abused which will only harm lifeforms.

2. Regular Inspection

All I’m saying businesses, is that we could have regular inspections based on the facilities. And if the EPA decides to stay a little longer, let them. It's just for safety’s sake.

The EPA should be allowed to snoop, look around, and make sure everything is running and handled well. There really shouldn’t be anything going on that’s illegal anyway. The inspection won't last forever.

However, I would be a little disturbed if they decided to camp outside in trailers at the facility and throw parties. I would even understand a company owner's anger if they start placing their family photos on people's desks or using people's computers.

In all cases, this doe not happen. They do a walk-through. Look at how materials are handled. Understand the make-up of your products so they don't harm lifeforms. Pay close attention to the regulations and warnings as well as how emergencies are handled. They especially pay attention to how materials are discarded to protect the environment and to protect people.

So please, let the EPA perform their non-lengthy inspections to better aid all lifeforms.

3. Clean Environment

A clean environment is important today. We need to keep our air as clean as possible. We ned to keep our streets and communities cleans even if people are not living in them and especially if people are living in them.

We need not get our heels stuck in plastic rings then go crashing to the ground ladies. Sliding down on black ice is very bad, but sliding down in oil is awful. Getting rainfall that's filled with chemicals in your eyes that burns like someone sprayed a disinfectant in your face is even worst. But what's awful is the trash and disinfectants floating around in water that we use to cook food and take a bath in. Granted there are three different pipes in every household, but they all come from a large body of water that is located somewhere.

Due to the increasing change in the climate due to global warming and these terrible storms and changes on Earth we must have regulation on the money-making machines of the world. Most businesses are aware of the effect their company can have on the environment and take steps to prohibit it. Others are not aware or neglect this and they are the ones who need the most attention and regulation.

The EPA is created for this check on all companies and businesses. The EPA is our machine for making certain that the environment is protected and no administration should be able to dismantle or stop it just to save money.

4. Protect the Wildlife & Plant Life

A lot of people don’t really care about wildlife and plant life. Because we use them, we must be considerate of them. Because we are humans and control this world we are obligated to be responsible for the lifeforms we are superior to.

We need plants for cleaning the air, and some of us live off them (vegetarians). We need animals too, most of us live off them (carnivores). It’s given that people hunt them, which just pulverizes my point. But for the rest of us, we should try to keep them in their habitat and a clean environment.

Wildlife has been known to slap people in the face for being around. Remember the hunter and deer incident? The slap fight that the hunter lost? We don’t need for this to be a reoccurring thing for the rest of us. Nobody wants a dog walking up to them and picking a fight because we messed up the ability to have air they can breathe. Worst still, some exotic cat that breaks in the house and claims it because you screwed up its natural habitat. If you’re not used to shooting a gun, or it just decides against allowing you to make it to the door, this will definitely be a problem.

Plants don't go on strike, but way too much damage to them can create its own problems. Way too much damage to the Earth's temperature is causing a problem. Namely the Hurricanes that have ripped through us and the ever rising water creating Tsunamis. Our imprint on the Earth has caused drastic damage to land, water, and air worldwide. It has knocked our seasons out of whack and caused terrible storms.

The EPA must be allowed to do their job for the environment and wildlife in peace. It is created to help all lifeforms and should be allowed to.

Last Notes on the EPA Situation

The EPA is an important agency. The environment and the public's health and safety is important. If no one is looking or watching these companies, how would we know what’s happening of course. Let the EPA inspect businesses in peace and publish what they concluded about that business. We can all work together, because overall, it's for the benefit of the public, environment, wildlife and country.

TFR @Marcy G. I was thinking the of the Hydrology issues we have today in some places in the US such as Chesapeake Bay when I wrote it.

You make some great points about the EPA needing the freedom to do it's job. So many corporations and individuals spend a lot of energy trying to prevent them from operating. In the end, it will harm all of us. Very good points here!

Thanks. They were dying?!! That's terrible! I remember in my Environmental Planning class, the professor elaborated on the fact that some chicken farms were disposing of chicken feces by running it in a pipe into the nearby river. The vegetation along the river started to die away and reptiles, such as frogs, were growing extra limbs. This, I think, was Chesapeake Bay, or an area around there. They worried about cell damage in soft tissue. The thought maybe when a mother drinks this water that the cells of the fetus could be effected. It was a major concern.

I agree. I used to live in an area where strip mining was common... the water table was flooded with poisons... and when the EPA stepped in, these mining companies claimed the EPA was destroying their ability to conduct business. In the mean time, people, especially rural farmers, were dying. Great hub.

Very true. Money can be used to buy neglect. The government's EPA is at least good for keeping them in check by annoying the crap out of businesses for anything. It could be bad sounds. Bad smells. Loud smells. A hunch, anything. We all should take responsibility for keeping the environment clean definitely, but that'll be hard to get. A corporation that uses slave labor overseas? Dare I ask, who might they be?

Seems to be inherent in the profit motive. If a business exists solely to line the coffers, it isn't surprising that a government is necessary to keep them in check. Ah well, human nature is what it is. People should just take responsibility for their actions, and that includes a corporation who uses slave labor overseas, or who pollutes our air and water. PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY I say!

I just think we as the public shouldn't allow businesses to get away with not having to have inspection. Its important, and I don't want to have to wear mask over my face in the future:> Thanks for stopping by.

You mean you want clean air and water, and you aren't in favor of destroying our ecosystem just for the sake of profit!?!?!?! You liberal hibby you! Just kidding.

As a liberal, I agree with this. I am tired of the conservatives living in fantasy land saying the EPA is somehow some sort of evil government entity that is out to destroy anything that gets in it's path. If and only if businesses did not behave badly, then we would not need a government watchdog to ensure they act correctly. However, they constantly do, so there is no other alternative. Good hub.
