The Government Wants Your Kids
Buzzy, The Proverbial Fly on the Wall
Another Unwelcome Surprise!
Good Morning Breakfastpoppers. Today is Monday, February 3, 2014. Our friend, Buzzy, is here today to reveal another aspect of the Unaffordable Care Act that is most distressing. Let's welcome Buzzy in with open hearts and minds,
Hello, my human family. Remember when your President told you that if you liked your health plan, you could keep your health plan? Remember when you learned that the President lied or as he prefers to say, you misunderstand what he said? Remember when the President told you that if you liked your doctor, you could keep your doctor? Remember when you learned that, in actuality, you couldn't keep your doctor? Remember when your President told you that if you met certain criteria, you would be eligible for a government subsidy to help pay for your healthcare?
Not So Fast!
Yes, their is a big caveat about those subsidies. Many parents are unhappily learning that if their children are eligible for Medicaid, they must be covered under that awful program. They cannot be covered on a family health plan purchased on an exchange. If a family's income falls below 200 percent of the federal poverty level, the family will qualify for a subsidy to buy insurance. The children cannot join them on that plan. If the family tries to add them onto their family policy, the big bad government will take away their subsidy. When your President told you that if you liked your kids, you could keep your kids, he didn't mean it.
Another hideous aspect of this rule is that if the family wants to bring the children back on their plan and are willing to forfeit the subsidy, it is extremely difficult to bring the kids back in. This is another prime example of why you should never trust the government when it comes to the welfare of you and your loved ones. More families than I can count have cancelled their policies or had their policies cancelled. They hoped to find cheaper, better insurance. Instead they walked into a nightmare situation. If they were able to access the government website, they soon learned that their children will be tossed into the Medicaid system.
Kiss Them Good-bye...
This may be another glitch, malfunction or snafu, but we may never know because the Obama administration has been relatively mute on the subject. Medicaid is a hideous health care option. Children will not be able to continue to see their regular doctors, because most do not accept Medicaid. Should a child require the expertise of a specialist, the prospects for receiving prompt care are very remote. Needless to say the outlook is very grim for theses families caught in the government's web of lies.
Things are deteriorating rather quickly. In Washington State, for example, children needing the care of specialists at Seattle's Children's Hospital have been denied specialty care due to Obamacare. Insurance providers on the Washington health benefits exchange have denied patients access to quality care. The hospital filed requests on behalf of 125 of their patients. Out of the 125 cases, the hospital only received 20 responses. Eight of these responses were denials.
The Silence is Deafening!
I wonder if anyone in your Congress regrets not reading this fiasco, called the Affordable Care Act, before it was foisted on the American people. I wonder if any of the members of Congress who voted for this bill are sorry now. I wonder if they are even thinking about it at all. Clearly, your President wants to move on. The fact that anyone is still complaining is the fault of Fox News. It couldn't possibly be the fault of an intrusive and manipulative government. Families are suffering through cataclysmic change when it comes to their healthcare and all the President can say is that the kinks will be straightened out. Most people in Washington have turned a blind eye and a deaf ear to the plight of the people. It reminds this fly of the old and soon to be resurrected Soviet Union!
I will leave you with these words:
Fly me to the moon
And let me get real health care
Things must be better up there
Staying here is just too hard to bear!
