The Great American Mystery: The 2016 Presidential Election

Updated on October 29, 2016

The FBI director, Comey, despite his superiors asking him not to renew the Hillary Clinton email scandal based upon over 10,000 new emails found, does so. This shocked the Clinton campaign who had that they had avoided further scrutiny. Was this just another political move or was Comey having a conflict of conscience and the FBI did not investigate thoroughly enough? After the short announcement from Comey, he left everyone in suspense by saying nothing more! Months ago, he stated Clinton was grossly negligent in her servers and emails but not criminal. Now, we are thinking twice about it. We do know Hillary has lied and disclaimed any wrongdoing which is in conflict of what the FBI said. Other disclosures regarding the Clinton foundation "pay for play", how Hillary has a position based upon who she is talking to, Trump's salacious comments on women, all fill the news cycles. What is a voter to think?

Just when you think one candidate has the election baked in their favor, another shock disrupts it and the polls indicate the lead shrinks to a few percentage points. The mystery extends into why are these two candidates the best America has to offer? Really? Both have a lot of baggage that is questionable. Nobody likes to choose a candidate that is just the "best of the deplorable". Yet, this is what America has this time around. Clinton will do anything to be the first woman president in US history, Trump is not that different, is this just a reality type show challenge to him? What will either do as president? Few think that either will be good for America. Obamacare costs are jumping at least 25% for all, in some cases, over 100%!, just how is this affordable is this? Why does the government force everyone to have healthcare? It should be their choice! Their risk! That is how is was before.

Imagine, Clinton winning and then Comey indicates her between Nov-Jan., before she takes office. What then? Obama is out the door at this point. Trump has lost yet still in the background. If Clinton wins the electoral votes but loses the popular vote or is very close, would there be a movement to make Trump president? Would a election redo occur? How would this work? There are even more questions: What happens if either candidate wins and then assassinated before taking office in January? The division in the country is nearly 50\50 and both sides have devout and some crazy followers.

The drama and mystery will surely continue long after the election.Stay tuned.

hmm. i think its comey who may lose his job. those emails did not come from hillarys server, she didnt send them, and she was not even mentioned in them.

my guess is the teapublicans in congress told him to alert them to anything they could use against clinton...since you know, thats their job as american congressmen; destroying democrats. DERP!

fbi is livid as this is against their procedure.

but, there is a group called groundswell which does just that. (30 point plan to destroy progressives). clarence thomas wife was in it, and the man who spreads dirt on bill clinton tried to take it over.

its most assuredly part of the vrw (vast right wing) as is possibly comey. he was appointed by bush, and according to seymour hersh, cheney has a lot of "stay behinds" still scattered in all levels of gvt.

its espionage and dirty deals, not concern for america in the least. groundswell was sending notes to gowdy to keep up the pressure on benghazi, e mails, etc.

and if part of it is being orchestrated by putin, these rebaglicans will go down as the dummy dupes of the century!

Perry (& you too lmc) ....It is very nice of Perry not to delete your whacked comment. Everyone should be so fair as to allow people to spew nonsense all they wish.

Perry...It is a fact that all electronic devices of Huma & Anthony were seized by the FBI due to their current investigation of Anthony & his Weiner, based upon allegations he's been emailing and sexting an underage girl (or girls). AGAIN. He must be very proud of his little buddy.

In the process, what they discovered is thousands of Huma's emails that were sent to her by Hillary. Hillary copied Huma on each & every email she sent or received as Sec'y of State. So, despite what lmc wishes were true~~YES, Hillary is smack dab in the middle of this. HER emails from HER server. Huma never deleted a single email.

The bulk of them are those mysteriously "missing" 33,000 that Hilary had her henchmen delete, bleach, stomp on & sledge hammer to death.

Oops....I can't imagine why she never ordered Huma to do the same......or maybe she did, who knows? It was Huma's decision to keep them all. Uh-oh.

It's "vague" at this point only to us. There's nothing vague about it but we get to sit and wait. We'll only know as the FBI determines we can or should know. Don't forget, we're the little people until it's tax time or campaign time. Then we're absolutely their one and only concern....P

yes, very true. This has been the most mysterious presidential election and it still is unraveling. Will this be enough to allow Trump to win?

What is it that they are looking for in her emails? The 33,000 emails that Trump says have been bleached, stomped on & sledge hammer to death are her personal emails. It is very easy to delete them without doing the aforementioned procedures. One just re-formats the hard drive with a couple of clicks of the mouse...end of story. And that is what her IT guy did.

Trump has done more damage to this country by inviting Putin to look for those 30,000 emails. It borders on treason.

Hi Mike.....It is not "Trump" who states that there are 33,000 emails missing, it's the FBI investigators who made that claim immediately after they did the analysis.

They were not "looking" for her emails. For all intents and purposes the investigation of Hillary & her emails was put to rest.

However, in the course of investigating Anthony Weiner, the sick sexual pervert & predator husband of Huma Abbedin (Hillary's personal assistant) the FBI seized all electronic devices from Anthony & Huma. They are investigating Weiner due to his cyber emails and sexting to a minor. (a crime)

FBI discovered 10,000 emails between Huma & Hillary. We have not been told as yet what these emails entail....only that they are of serious interest enough to reopen Hillary's investigation.

Sooner or later, Comey will have to come out with the info to the public.

About Putin....Trump merely made a sarcastic off hand remark during one of his speeches about Putin possibly finding Hillary's erased/destroyed emails. No one believes for one moment that Vladimir Putin needs an "invitation" nor permission from anyone to do a damned thing, Mike. Besides, Russia has nothing to do with any of the email mess. Julian Assange is the mastermind and he has an entire network of people working with him and Wikileaks....not Putin. And the particular emails discovered now have been recovered from Weimer & Huma....not Wikileaks.

We need to wait and see what's going on as usual. The general consensus right now is that for Comey to have written the letter to Congress, it must be very serious and extremely damaging to Hillary. Weiner and Abbedin used the SAME laptop. Who knows what Anthony Weiner has in his mail??

trump has done more than merely make a statement about putin. he has 249 businesses in russia, and russians were lending him money after others turned him down. his son gushes anout how much of their money comes from russia...sounds to me like trump owes him, big time. and, those dnc hacks were traced to the kremlin and the fsb. and who uses the hacked information every day to bash clinton? in fact, he uses every right wing conspiracy out there to bash her!...going back decades.

this leads me to believe that meme thats out there:" if i was to run for pres, id run as republican. they believe anything fox tells them"

meanwhile, "liberal" media is ignoring all of trumps serious problems coming up in favor of wikileaks datadumps.

and experts out there have said some of those dumps are fake.

but the 2 trials trump is facing are very real. and no one talks about it....even the alternet turns out to be alt...alt right!

I already voted by mail. It was a tough decision. I dislike all the candidates to some degree. I chose the best of the worst of the deplorables. They all have dirt from the past. If we could put the best traits of Trump and Clinton, that would best for America, they both have some good traits as a leader. By themselves, both are too extreme. It's like Lennon-McCartney- together they wrote great songs, when they went solo, their styles were too extreme as simply not as good. Trump may be great at some things but it could also be bad. Clinton does have experience but being trustworthy is a deal killer.
