The Greed of It All?

Updated on May 20, 2010

Okay now I'm mad.  I ask you when are we going to LEARN?  The greed of the almighty dollar is destroying us.

1.  Oil Spills:

Do we wait until all of our shores and land are completely destroyed and all our fishing and wild life are gone? Yes, my friends you are going to pay for some of this no matter how you try not to think about it.

Let's back up this train and take a good look at maybe some changes in a different direction because we are going down a ONE-WAY road with this type of greed.

2.  Wind Power:

Ancient mariners used sails to capture the wind and explored this world.  Farmers once used windmill to grind their grains and to pump water.

Wind is a clean source of renewable energy that produces---no air or water pollution.  The wind is FREE no one can own it.  A small windmill even in your back yard could produce and serve your home needs and or business.

Oh yes, there are some people that think that they are ugly and the complain about them---Maybe those people need to think past their own selves????

3.  Solar Power:

We all use the solar energy---from simply basking in the sun---sailing a boat on choppy waters or drying our clothes on a clothes line. Solar energy is successfully being used for cooking, cooling, heating, communications, driving a space craft and many sources of light.

Solar power is another FREE energy that is completely clean and abundant. Yes we have the technology to harvest this energy source and we can use the power of the sun to make a CLEAN ---pollution free world for not only us but our children and grandchildren.

Oh yes, I am quite aware that moving on forward to a CLEAN environment is going to cost each and every one of us to make changes.

WE ALL HAVE A CHOICE---you can stay in the greed of the pollution or you can move to a cleaner environment.

robie it is amazing how much we take before we make make any change to our every day life. Maybe when it RAINS oil on some of those fancy homes????

I would like to see more manufacturing of solar & wind power created HERE in the USA, we have some but most of it is bought from China and the little--home owner can not afford it yet.

That MONEY TRAIL has many forks in the road.

I'm with you on this one-- Jimmy Carter put solar panels in the White HOuse back in the day and started us down the right road-- Ronald REagan tore them out and every president since has pandered to big oil-- we have a lot of time to make up for and it won't be easy, but the only place to begin is at the beginning.

How well said, when is this greedy world going to wake up?

Aesthetics rule too much of our shallow life.

Hey young-un, the sad part of this is that this won't even SLOW down until the greedy-oil hits the beaches of Florida when some of those greedy-oil people can't lay on the beach.

AS THEY SAY---FOLLOW THE MONEY TRAIL!!!!!

Yes Jerilee, your Cajun great grandfather said it ( there are only two kinds of People in this world---THE TAKERS & GIVER'S) and the takers don't give a damn about you---they got there's.

Couldn't agree with you more mom! Here we are in the land of the sun and home owners associations won't allow solar because they don't fit their definition of what looks "pretty." Meanwhile the utility companies costs skyrocket forcing many people to choose between paying the electric and eating.

Thanks Nancy, yes GREED has and will always be there but we all have that Vote to at least slow it down and right now it is our only tool.

I have echoed these same sentiments for some years now. Big oil owns our government and until we purge that problem, by voting all incumbents out, nothing will change. These pictures tell a horrifying story and we have yet to discover the “real” damage that has been done. Good article on one of the seven deadly sins; GREED!

LRC-Yes I agree but there will always be those that follow the money trail---what they promise when they are running for office and what they do when they get there is ----????

Pachuca dear, as you said those fat cats have will always be there as HISTORY as shown us, it's just now there are more of them and the only TOOL that you and I have is to VOTE! because if we don't ---they win. thanks.

I really liked this one...its so true. Sadly there are too many fat cats who just want to make money and don't really care what happens to the generations after them...as long as their pockets are full of cash! Disturbing to say the least.

Get real campaign finance reform. Get money out of congress so that they are not serving the large corporations. We still burn oil because it is a huge profitable industry that lines the pockets of our congressional members come election time

This country is obsessed with greed at any cost and the politicos are not going to change. Seems like the constitution says something about if the people aren't happy with the government we have the right to overthrow it. Let's just do it and start over. I think we're all sick of it!! Nice work Ginn!!
