The Top Five Detestable Crimes of Passion

Updated on January 30, 2015

According to the Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary, Passion means-a strong feeling of enthusiasm or excitement for something or about doing something.

The word "Something", is what passion should be geared towards, however when you replace the word "Something", with the word, "Someone", a situation can become very dangerous.

Whatever happened to love is patient, love is kind? Crimes such as these play as a constant reminder that we live in a fallen world.

Listed below are the top ten detestable crimes of Passion.

Linda was now blinded for life forced, to face the world in sunglasses for the rest of her life. Yet once Burton was released from prison, Linda married him. Was marrying the devil her only option left?

Yes, they say that love is blind. Burton went on to have an affair with another woman why he was married to Linda. When the woman rejected him he threatened to harm her as well. Burton’s threat landed him back into the spotlight. And yes, his wife Linda stood by his side. Linda passed away in 2013 at age 75.

Stringing a young teenage girl along is detestable. Young girls are full of emotions that don’t make sense half of the time. To be mislead by an old- married man shows sheer selfishness on behalf of Joey Buttafuoco. Adults have the moral responsibility to lead by example.

What Causes A Person To Snap?

According to research, misplaced fear can lead someone to commit a crime of passion. The individual does not have the capacity to think peacefully, or in a forgiving nature in a time of heated emotions and turmoil. The ability to abandon negative thoughts creates a fear that takes over the mind. The negative feeling binds the thoughts which create an obsession that takes over logical thinking.

Feeling confined, and restrained, unloved, creates a need to find a physical attachment that can fill the sense of void. If this void is unfulfilled by the individual at hand a feeling of rejection or being the victim can lead to depression or a fatal crime, and in some cases both emotions can emerge at once.

Placing a human being in charge of our happiness is a big mistake. As humans we are all imperfect and were never designed to fulfill the desire of man. A man or woman’s desire outweighs the simplicity of the human spirit, meaning that this is a task we were never meant to implement.

A Crime of Passion Targets Celebrities As Well

Crimes of passion target celebrities as well, this is disturbing being that celebrities do not have a one on one relationship with their fans, yet some fans who are delusional may think that they have something special going on with their favorite celebrity, which could lead to a dangerous situation.

Yes, It is a blessing that harmful relationships never enter the circle of friendship. Walking scarred through life, having people ask what happened, is a living nightmare. Thanks for the vote up Suzanne Day!

I would be willing to bet that some of the perpetrators of these crimes also had stalking or obsession complexes. It's a bit rough for the victims who end up dead or scarred for life.....glad this can't be found in my circles! Voted interesting.

Love is oftentimes hard to understand. More so, crimes of passion. I never experience great desire for former boyfriends , nor did they have extreme passionate desire for me, that when we part --- it always good riddance for both parties! Lol!

Thanks csmiravite-blogs! This was depressing for me to write. When I watched the documentary on the lady whose boyfriend blinded her and then she married him after he got out of prison, I was confused. It was not what I expected. I can't believe how far extreme meanness can go. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
