We need Love to raise Love's vibrations in this Love-less World!

This News was just reported a few hours ago. Society nor Court Systems have recognized non-physical abuse as criminal, which allows the cycle to continue. Though Justice continues to fight against violence, people's stereotypes prevents victory. So this development is disheartening!

The Trump Justice Department's Definition for:

Domestic Violence

*Physical harm that constitutes a felony or misdemeanor.

The Trump Justice Department's Definition for:

Sexual Assault

*Any non-consenual sexual act proscribed by Federal, Tribal,or State Law, including when the victim lacks capacity to consent.

I was massively surprised and really shocked," she said. "It is quite scary how quietly it has happened. It is a massive step backwards. We have literally gone back to the 70s. We have worked so hard since the 60s and 70s to get domestic abuse and sexual violence understood as being about more than physical violence. Changing the definition to take it back to being about physical harm completely undermines what domestic abuse is about.

— Holly Taylor-Dunn, a Senior Lecturer in Worcester, UK

Under Obama's Administration, these Definitions were more expansive and Domestic Violence Organizations were consulted.

Women’s Aid acknowledges that both men and women suffer from abuse. However, they realize that most victims tend to be women. Sadly, women seem to experience repeated and severe forms of abuse, including sexual violence.

Below is the previous Definition for:

Domestic Violence

Psychological Abuse, Coercive Control, Manipulation and Physical Abuse were all defined as Domestic Violence offenses.

Below is the previous Definition for:

Sexual Assault

Any type of sexual contact or behaviour that occurs without the explicit consent of the recipient. Falling under the definition of sexual assault are sexual activities as forced sexual intercourse, forcible sodomy, child molestation, incest, fondling, and attempted rape.

Natalie Nanasi was the Author of the previous Definitions and her response can be found below:

The Article stresses that Mental, Emotional and Psychological Abuse often leads up to Physical Abuse.

Statistics show that 43.5 Million women have experienced "psycholgical agression" from an intimate partner in the U.S., according to the Center for Disease Control & Prevention. More than half of women are murdered by intimate partners in the U.S. as well.

From my experience, those forms of Abuse are much, much harder to heal from.

Someone once commented on my abuser's small frame. Their point was that mine was slightly bigger so I could've taken him down. Though this is true (Wink), our problem wasn't a physical one.

No matter your stature, if someone's abuse has tainted your mind, you won't retaliate physically!

The ritualistic brainwashing prevented me of thinking that I had any power in the situation. Surely, I spoke up about the abuse but lacked the strength to walk away from it. It's even harder to leave when empty apologies and promises keep giving you hope!

This is systematically worst than merely being beaten. You began to feel inferior and that self-defeating mentality kills you from the inside out!

My Opinions on This News

I have my own Domestic Abuse story to tell. In fact, I've broken the invisible seal of silence with Hubs here. I write them to heal from my own experiences and to help others with theirs.

matter what Trump or the Courts say, God the Father will have the last say. For we all will be judged by our own works here on Earth!

      Thanks for reading this, Willow.

I truly love and appreciate your comment and you're right! It's truly tragic how ignorant and hateful people can be, especially those in power.

It's crazy to think we took ten steps forward and now we're going 500 steps backwards... and not just with abuse - race, religious freedom, everything. Emotional abuse, despite what many think, is very real. Empires always fall. Sooner or later, the empire of ignorance will fall, too.

Ignorance and an unwillingness to understand, or accept that we're not all perfect, leads to people not getting the help and support they need.

It took a lot of strength for me to start talking about my depression publicly and the causes. There just came a time where I said... I need to do something and hopefully help someone else out. Even if it means I help only one person... that's still one person.

Glad you're speaking out on the issues! The light of the world will trump the darkness.
