The World Today as a Teenage Black Boy
This article will discuss the Pro's + Con's of being a black teenager in America today. There is lots of racial injustice going on right now between Black people and police. It's Sad to think that the one group of people you are supposed to be able to go to for help are the exact people that you don't want to turn to.
The World has changed so much in the past few months. First, with Covid-19, it ruined family events such as wedding and things of that nature. It was all so weird and happened so fast, we were not at all prepared for this. We were told by the CDC and other health care officials that getting outside in the nature to run, walk, and bike was a good idea. Well, so we thought. an innocent black man was shot by a white man while jogging in a nearby neighborhood. This then started to create more problems about racial injustice in America.
" I asked a friend today if it was helpful to post a black box. she said yes. it's solidarity, it's friendship,it's space to listen, learn, and elevate." - Annie F. Downs
Racism has been something that has been around since 1619 when African Americans were sold and used as slaves to do work for white families and land owners. Slavery itself ended but Racism did not. There will soon be a stop to this, us as Americans will come together as one and be color blind to the color of our skin. for me, Personally I think that this will all be changed for the good. Being a teenager it is sometimes hard to have hope, we see all types of different stuff through social media both good as well as bad. we will all learn to do good, and the injustice will stop. We will speak for the victims who can't, we will be their voice, we will fight for them. we will not rest until justice is served. I do think that protesting peacefully is good, it will get things done and show that we as people care, Black or white we are all made in the image of god, we need to ask him to heal our land.
We need Rest. The Country, The world, and the people. My brain thinking about the injustice that the black community is facing and that the world is facing due to racism is tiring. we need a break, First a disease that causes our lives to change in so many ways and now this.We cannot let the Devil have the final say in this, he does not have a seat at our table. Let's all love one another, Let's Love better. Let's be the change we wish to see
