Democrats Vowed to Substantially Increase Taxes. Why Did You Vote for Them in 2018? [F1 708]

Updated on June 24, 2019

The democrats want to increase Taxes for the US Taxpayers

California and the democrat monopoly have shown the rest of the country how they can raise state taxes, create news taxes, and fees. California is the model for how the democrats want to raise federal taxes.

Democrats for the Poor, and Republicans for the Rich

The democrats have been seen by the older generations for the last one hundred years as the party that is for the poor, while the republicans have been the party for the rich.

But that is legend, a myth, a con as both parties don't really care about the people except to get their vote. It is the way that they get their votes that is the foundation of their legend. The democrat favor the poor because they can addict them to welfare, and other government give away program. The republicans attract the non poor voters with trying to improve the economy, and as the economy is big business, as well as business in general they focus on those programs.

Votes Gives a Party Power

Once again, both parties use their focus to get votes, and therefore get power. It has never been about the people or the country, it is only about how groups of politicians can get the voter to give them the power.

The democrats try to steal votes from the republicans by claiming they are giving the rich tax advantages. The democrats then try to get the rich by increasing their marginal tax rate. This is only a for show tactic as neither the rich democrats nor the rich republicans are really adversely affected by this tactic. These marginal tax rates principally adversely effect the wage earners, and the rich don't get their income by working for wages.

California Taxes

California has the most regulations on business and high California income tax and this year they just increased the gasoline taxes, and the fees to register vehicles. Now the latter has its most damaging effect on the poor people that need their vehicles to get to their lower paying jobs. When the democrats in California swing the tax axe they don't seem to care about the rich, they only care about getting the revenue.

While the democrat politicians in the United States Congress claim that they want to do what Trump didn't do for taxing the rich. So they vow when they regain control in congress they will substantially raise all the taxes across the taxpayers.

Why would any voter knowingly and voluntarily put the democrats in control of the United States Congress to do that to their taxes? How does raising the taxes on everyone deal with the unequal distribution of wealth in the country? It doesn't, but doing the illogical is the path taken by the democrats.

Healthcare Issue was Pre Existing Conditions

The most significant single issue in healthcare insurance the year that Barack Obama was elected president was "Pre Existing Conditions". They could have passed any legislation that they wanted to in 2009-2011, yet they chose to tear down the existing healthcare infrastructure. Obamacare would be rolled out in 2011 but it would take over a decade for it to be fully implemented. Even during the second term of president Obama, the ACA was in trouble and it was still in trouble when the democrats in congress refuse to help president Trump and the republicans replace it with a better system.

If the democrats in 2009 had passed legislation that was only a single part of Obamacare, that of pre existing conditions, it could have been implemented immediately and with only the positive impact to those people that had been denied healthcare because of preexisting conditions.

Democrats say Tax the Rich and make them pay their fair share, it can't be done because of the Internal Revenue Code

Obamacare and Income Tax under the Democrats.

The reason that I digressed to the Obamacare is to show that while they talked about it as being the solution to healthcare, it turned out to be a nightmare to implement. It took too long to get rolled out, and it didn't cover all the people that it claimed for it. It also raised the prices for healthcare because the insurance companies had a pool of people that had to buy insurance under Obamacare.

The real reason for the Obamacare was not to restructure the healthcare industry for the benefit of the people, but it would be stage one for their ultimate plan of single payer, government takeover of the industry.

In the Obamacare, there were tens of millions of young people that couldn't afford the insurance, so they extended their parents coverage till they were twenty six years old. And if they couldn't stay on their parents coverage, they didn't want to buy the Obamacare and many would opt to just pay the no insurance tax.

Obamacare failed to give everyone affordable coverage, and people that liked their existing healthcare coverage and their doctors lost it under the Obamacare structure.

Suffice it to say, their handling of the healthcare for the country is much like their ideas of how to tax the country.

How Many Ways Can The Government Tax The People?

US democrats in congress want to TAX

Yes that title was a complete thought because the democrats in the US congress have no boundaries on what they tax, especially for Income Tax.

They say they want their power back in the US congress in 2018 and their president in the White House in 2021. Today the US economy, jobs, unemployment and trade are doing well, so why does anyone want to change that winning streak.

The answer is simple, the democrats want their power back, and taxes seem to be their main election campaign tactic. They claim that president Trump gave the corporations and the rich a tax break. That is true, but that tax break stimulated the economy, and its growth. It also was responsible for the new jobs, and low unemployment and tied together with president Trump getting the US out of the one sided trade agreements around the world brought back companies and jobs lost by the previous governments.

How does taxing everyone substantially make any sense, but that is what the democrats are playing for the preelection campaigning. If the voters fall for this they can kiss their current prosperity into the backseat hidden somewhere out of reach.

President Trump this month proposed a tax plan that would be targeting lowering the taxes on only the middle income people. Yet, the democrats think that is a bad idea?

The real problem of tax in the US

sadly, not even president Trump has addressed the real problem with the US Income Tax. That problem is that it can never tax the rich even proportionately as it taxes the middle income people, much less tax it more.

The rich have a protection that is exclusive to them but technically available to anyone. That protection is found in the Internal Revenue Code.

""The Internal Revenue Code and regulations now come in at one million words and 9000 pages." U.S. Representative Jo Ann Emerson (R-MO) "The Bible, the guide of our lives, is 1,291 pages and contains 774,746 words."

The real proof of what I said about the rich being bullet proof on income taxes can be answered by you find how many of these one million words can be used by you when making out your 1040 Income Tax. Then try and figure out how many of those 9000 pages were written for the benefit of the rich.

You as the average middle class taxpayer have the Internal Revenue Code to guide your filing of your income tax, but you will find it difficult to apply any of the tax deferments, avoidance, or any reduction in your tax liability. The reason is that the Internal Revenue Code was written by congress to help the rich not tax the rich.

Sure, congress tells you that they want to have the rich pay their fair share, and to prove it they apply higher marginal tax rates on them, and in some years that was as high as 90%.

The 1986 Republican president Ronald Reagan gave us the 1986 Tax Reform Act that was two fold.

1. Taxes would be reduced.

2. Some Tax Deductions will no longer be available to the middle income tax payers.

This hurt us more than you can imagine, because, the Taxes that were reduced came back in just a few years, while the tax deductions never came back. Among them was the deduction for credit card interests. This was a big one, especially when some credit cards have interest rates as high as thirty percent, which is three time that of the ten percent usury law. And not to far behind the loan sharks.

BTW, the credit card companies got by the usury law of ten percent maximum. Ask me in the comments how they did that.

The simple answer why the rich get richer and the rest of us get taxed more and more

The answer is simple = Internal Revenue Code

The difference between the rich and the middle income people in the US is how they make their money.

The rich own companies, they own stock and both of these have many pages in the Internal Revenue Code to not only keep much of their money but to be able to multiply their wealth. Since the 2008 US economic failure look at how much more Bill Gates is worth today. How could you as a wage earner make that kind of increase in your wealth. The vig from the taxes you would have to pay from any increase in your salary would alone prevent it.

It is true that the 10% pay 90% of all the US Income Tax. But the real story is that 90% is only a small fraction of what they should pay if they didn't have the Internal Revenue Code to keep much of their profits.

The Income Tax System is a burden for people that earn their income from wages, while that same system is a benefit to the rich that don't make their income from wages. One of the key income multipliers is found in the stock market. Look it up.

In the meanwhile, lets talk about the democrats running for congress.

Warren the apparent winner of last nights ten little Indians pun intended, was really mad in her tone, but she palefaced in contrast to Bernie who looks insane.

      Healthcare

Your health is not in the hands of equal quality of care, whether you buy into the socialist a government run system, or the classic private system. The reason is that all doctors have the same licenses but they don't have the same experience, competence, track record or knowledge. The point is that finding a doctor is different than getting a doctor from a pool of doctors.

When you find a good dentist, a good mechanic, a good repair person, a good any kind of person, you want to keep them. When ACA came into being president Obama agreed with my opinion here, but as the ACA became law, the truth came out, but it was too late then. You lost that doctor, you lost that plan. You know who didn't lose and kept everything, the federal government workers because their plan was to de facto gold standard plan.

The democrats don't want to spend a dime on the Wall to protect us from many threats like the gangs, the drug cartel, child sex trafficking and even the terrorists. Remember what only 19 terrorists did to our country.

But the threat for healthcare is very real. For every illegal alien that gets into the country, the democrats want them to be covered by the same government run healthcare system.

This is not a free healthcare system by any means. It is not an effective healthcare system when the government runs it. Look at all the fraud that came with the Medicare system. That fraud didn't help the sick, it help the criminals letting them use Medicare as if it was a bank robbery, but without guns, just a stroke of the pen or keyboard.

The cost is in several Trillions of dollars each year. Yet, the democrats couldn't spend even a Billion for the Wall. A Wall that when it prevents more illegals coming into the country actually saves money because we don't have to pay for free education. And we prevent illegal drugs coming into the country, a country that lost the war against both gangs, and drugs several decades ago. These illegal drugs cause many kinds of sickness, mental illness, and even leading to suicides. It also supports a network of gangs to distribute and protect their illegal drugs. The shock wave from that ripples to every part of the country, and it then becomes a local and state issue, not just federal. Our prisons and jails have filled up to the point that judges are releasing prisoners across the country. This is not the second chance that helps us, it is the second chance that they get to do their criminal activities another time.

The only worthwhile thing about the ACA was the preexisting condition, and I submit that could and should have been handled with a single bill in congress. It would have been implemented quicker and more effectively.

The democrats now want you to believe that President Trump and the republicans want to kill that preexisting condition win. But, that isn't true, anymore than anyone will get rid of Medicare or SS.

Canada is not the utopia for free healthcare, and remember the old saying you get what you pay for. To which, I always add, if you are very lucky. But there is no chance and the history of Canadian healthcare bears out that this is an effective healthcare system. There are just so many doctors in any country, and you do the math and see how many people outnumber the doctors. There are also so many hospital beds and see how fast you can get one when you need it, and how fast they will get you out of it, dead, alive, or still sick.

A good friend of mine married a Canadian and she moved to Canada. Her husband was an electrician and over the years he messed up his knees to the point the he had trouble walking and he was in pain all the time. It took him two years to go up the queue to get the operation. And because she was still an American citizen she went across the border to the US to get her healthcare treatment.

Remember before the ACA became law, congress was asked what is in the ACA legislation, and the reply was we will have to pass the legislation before we will know the details. Is that what people want from a government run healthcare system?

The government is not a business and it has no real acumen in running a business. Healthcare is a business and look at the bang up job they do with Medicare and SS. Do you want to spread their business expertise farther with taking over all the healthcare?

Look at how they run the National Highway System, the National Infrastructure, the Railroads, and the ACA. Look at how they brought NASA to a stop, and our astronauts had to bum a ride off the Russian rockets to get to the International Space Station because we no longer had a space shuttle. Much of what NASA was doing is now in the hands of private companies.

And does that make you feel confident about the Feds running anything else, especially something that your life depends on?

This Sander, Warren dream is a nightmare for the rest of us. You are going to be taxed to where even if you were deep into the middle class you would need this socialist program. The rich are never affected by the federal government. The rich will be using concierge healthcare that they have been using for a long time.

And as long as the Internal Revenue Code allows them to bypass Income Tax at any marginal tax rate, they will continue to get richer. But, your chances of surviving death or debilitation go way down'

The quality of healthcare today is dismal, and it won't get any better with government taking over healthcare.

If we were going to spend Trillions of dollars a year, it would be better spent to cure disease. And if the money was outside of the for profit companies, we might be able to find some cures. The current healthcare system doesn't want to find a cure because that is a major loss of their huge profits. Right now while the healthcare is private, these insurance companies practice medicine without a license by telling the doctors what you are and aren't going to be able to do for their patients.

We have a doctor shortage in this country, and in the world. Adding more people, well if you can't do the math, you shouldn't be voting.

      --------------------------------

Brad, isn’t tax and spend the age old description of Democrats?

      A leopard can’t change it’s spots.

      B:

This is true, and it must also be true of the democrat voters.

      ----------------------------------------

No matter what the Democrats say you know they are going to raise taxes, period! You can’t grow government without raising taxes and their idea of government is it has to control every aspect of your life and that is why people vote for them!

      B:

You are correct once again, and they are the creators and feeders of an obese US government. And they have made the idiosyncrasies of the minorities into the main stream. The majority is then forced to conform to the minorities. Even worse, is when the activities of the minorities are out of bounds. Minority in the context that I am using it pertains to the numbers of people as opposed to why they are a minority. When a small percentage of the country now controls the social actions that is not equality, it is manipulation.

      --------------------------------------

If you want an indication of how far out into left field the Democratic party has moved, look no further than the briefing book distributed at a Democratic confab in Atlanta last April. One of the ideas: a guaranteed job, courtesy of the government.

      B:

Interesting and scary at the same time.

      -----------------------------------------------

Attendees at the closed-to-the-press "Democracy Alliance" conference each received copies of a 187-page briefing book titled "Everyone's Economy," according to the Washington Free Beacon. It's published by liberal think tank Demos, among whose founding board members was then-Illinois State Sen. Barack Obama.

      B:

I didn't know that, but it doesn't surprise me.

      ---------------------------------------------------

The book contains an enormous laundry list of far-left policies: a $1.4 trillion a year single-payer health care plan,

      B:

This doesn't do anything for the quality of the health care. It just funnels the profit.

      -----------------------

$2 trillion in spending on infrastructure

      B:

That sounds good on its face, but we only have to look at California and their High Speed Train project that started with the money that was infused into "infrastructure" after the 2008 economic crash. It started out as a $30 billion project, and now it is over $100 billion and won't be completed until 2030 something.

In addition, California this year increased the road tax on a gallon of gas. Roads are infrastructure, but the tax money didn't seem to find the road.

      ------------------------------

      , a $15 minimum wage,

      B:

This is really a triple tax. The first is it acts like a tax on the employer to increase the job costs for salaries while not getting any return in the form of increased performance. The second is that the increase to $15 an hour will also increase the FCIA taxes paid by the employer. The third is that it also increases the amount of FICA paid by the employee.

The government comes out the winner, as their failing SS and Medicare are infused with more revenue.

      ----------------------------------------------

a raft of new mandatory worker benefits, amnesty for 11 million illegal immigrants

      B:

Are you sure it is only 11 million?

      ----------------------------------------

, repeal of most of the Trump tax cuts,

      B:

This actually has adverse effects on the low income workers. The same people that vote for the democrats?

      ------------------------------------------------

increases in Social Security and welfare benefits,

      B:

Increases in SS benefits is OK as long as there isn't an increase in SS contributions.

      Welfare needs some major reforms.

      ------------------------------------------

      free college, student loan forgiveness,

      B:

There needs to be a major reform in colleges, as they no longer are relevant in the cyber age. Today's colleges are only useful if you want to be a teacher, as most of the college course are useless to getting a job.

When the mortgages collapsed in 2008, the government taxed the people that were given loan forgiveness. And even if they do the same for students, it sets a wrong example. Some of the colleges charge over $300,000 for a four year degree. And multiply that by all the student loans, this is as bad as the single payer healthcare.

The only solution is to dramatically reduce government size and scope.

      -----------------------

a ban on fracking, a $35/ton carbon tax, subsidized day care, etc

      B:

Fracking allows the US to not have to depend on foreign fuel.

The carbon tax doesn't help reduce carbon, it only allows the government to get revenue from the tax.

Subsidized day care? In 1986 Regan passed the Tax Reform Act and we the wage earners lost most of our schedule C deductions. We need to get them back, and that is the only way to subsidize day care, by making it a deductible tax item.

We should include into those items anything that costs us to get our pay check. Why should we have to put up with all the costs of making money while the government taxes our gross?

BTW, in 2013 congress raised the medical deduction from 7.5% to 10% for the threshold. That was strange when Obamacare was going to cost less. I guess, the government anticipated more medical deductions. That was another loss of a tax deduction for the wage earners.

      -------------------------

If anyone thinks this is the wish list of a fringe-left group, think again. Most of the proposals in the briefing book are based on legislation already introduced by Democrats, or policies championed by party leaders and presidential contenders Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders.

      B:

Why would any wage earner vote for the democrats when they are blatantly out in the open telling everyone they are increasing taxes and reducing benefits?

      ----------------------------------

It seems to me that the democrat plan is to suck everything they can from the middle class and make it one big lower class. The rich cannot be reduced as long as their is the Internal Revenue Code to give them outs.

Do you think any of the democrat tax plans have any effect on people like Bill Gates et al?

      -----------------------------

Thanks again, hope you didn't mind the detailed reply.

What about the 30 million that didn't want insurance, especially Obamacare. And what about the millions that lost their existing health insurance and they were led to believe they could keep it, along with their doctors"

All president Trump did was to not penalize as Obamacare did for not having insurance. And it was these 10s of millions of people that the Obamacare counted on to get premiums but not have to make payouts because these people were young and healthy.
