Are we devils on two legs?

Updated on August 13, 2015

The primary mechanism of the devil, is that of enslavement. This is what we do to the animal kingdom, in a completely self-serving way. Throughout the ages, we have created stories that justify the abuse and slaughter of terrified animals, on a daily basis.

For no other reason, than food addiction and entertainment.

We condone violence

We humans wish for peace in the world, we really do, and have all these ideals about harmony.

But the fact, is that we condone violence by what we choose to eat - or by what we have been lead to believe is necessary to eat.

From the milllions of animals slaughtered daily without an inch of compassion, to the so-called 'humane' slaughter of organically reared animals, which is a shameful excuse and use of the intellect. (Note: slaughterhouses do not allow photography of the moment of death - unsurprisingly. They don't allow this not to be portrayed in a bad light - because it IS a bad light).

The fact is, is that peace begins at the dinner table, peace starts with what we choose to put in our mouths.

Our excuses for meat eating

There are countless arguments that support meat eating, including the rationalised 'circle of life' argument (see video below).

But like any argument, these only serve to form a mental detachment, and detachment from love and compassion.

Can anyone argue with that?

“If slaughterhouses had glass walls, everyone would be a vegetarian.”

Sir Paul McCartney

Hell chambers - here in our very own country

We - the consumers - are so completely ignorant and shut off from how meat is processed, that we don't even know the horrors taking place at this very moment, just so we can put a lump of dead flesh in our mouths.

As Paul McCartney has said:

“If slaughterhouses had glass walls, everyone would be a vegetarian.”

Why are we so full of excuses?

Isn't it amazing that we really only care about animals within the confines of our own particular social upbringing.

We'll faun over a little puppy dog, and spend millions on making sure our pets are ok (because we don't want to eat them) - and yet, we avert our eyes when lambs are taken from their mothers, dragged away and slaughtered.

Welcome to the human realm, where self-serving excuses rule.

Won't eat

Will eat

We're destroying our own existence because of our addictions

Our very own planet is being consumed and destroyed because of our food addictions.

Most crops go to animals so that we can have them on our plate. We forcibly breed animals through atificial insemination, just so we can later eat them.

Are these the actions of intelligent beings, especially when science tells us that great health is achieved without meat consumption?

Condoning violence is... condoning violence

Let's not talk about peace and harmony, because it's a sham.

The violence and pain inflicted on animals, and the fear, that conducts through their adrenalin and ends up in our arms and legs, when we wave banners for world peace...

Let's stop pretending, and admit it. We ARE the devil. With all of our knowledge and wisdom, we wilfully ignore reason, and behave like fiends, celebrating slaughter when we all get together for a 'celebratory meal' around the carcasses of dead animals.

When we could be eating life-giving pulses, grains, vegetables, fruits...

The kindness of humans

Wonderful and heartfelt. My biggest problem is that I feel the same way about what you people do with insects and plants. They have circulation systems, they eat and drink, they have a life cycle, they have offspring and they even have sensory receptors.
