" The anti-immigrant voice this century"
From the most culturally diverse country in the world, whose nationality has been engendered by population groups of all nations, it has elevated the most anti-immigrant voice of this century. It is the voice of a renowned actor, politician and billionaire, whose name is Donald Trump. This politician, who in June 2015 confirmed his candidacy for the presidential elections 2016, moves from one place to another with their anti-immigrant discourse in general and against Mexicans in particular.
Donald Trump has put aside their university education and intellectual qualities, to indulge a historical dementia and origin. He forgot that he is also an American of foreign origin. He does not remember his German grandparents, his Scottish mother, and the time lived in Jamaica. He does not remember that the original population was composed by natives and Mexicans. He does not recognize that these two population groups were mixed with white conquistadors and other large waves of immigrants that today make up the American nationality, and enrich the culture most imposing of the universe.
In April 2011 Donald Trump, even before the announcement of his candidacy, was able to submit to public scrutiny the nationality of the incumbent President Barak Obama. This leaves no doubt that his anti-immigrant discourse is more a feeling than a resource to achieve popularity.
Perhaps, the Donald Trump's anti-immigrant thoughts were summarized in his essay of about 1900 words that he presented on Meet the Press. "A disaster for our country," said the lawyer Raul Reyes, who is also a member of the board of "USA Today". But his disastrous thoughts go beyond Meet the Press. His thoughts go jumping from one platform to another, and they go offending both workers as many leaders and brave patriots of the American people. However, in this first phase of his campaign, his main torrent of change has been directed against immigration. Perhaps his anti-immigrant stance can be summarized in four basic points:
1. Construction of a wall along the US border with Mexico, like the German wall collapsed. This wall, on the express orders of the Lord Trump, would be financed by Mexico.
2. Mass deportation of nearly 11 million undocumented immigrants, of which about 62% is doing a hard work and have lived in the United States more than a decade.
3. Cancellation of the right to citizenship by birth. Therefore, children, youth and adults who are US citizens by constitutional right established on the 14th Amendment to the Constitution, and recognized by the Supreme Court, would lose their legal status by decree of Mr. Donald Trump.
4. Classification of undocumented Mexican immigrants as "corrupt, criminals and rapists".
Although some polling agencies place him to a few points of the candidate Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump has generated an Opposition movement to his anti-immigrant thought, and indeed, anti-nationalist.
Latin America nations and the Mexican people have responded vigorously. Donald Trump "reflects the enormous ignorance of what Mexico represents ..." said a spokesman of the Mexican president, Enrique Peña Nieto, to Bloomberg News. The television station from Costa Rica, Teletica, decided to break relations with Trump and said it would not send its representative at Miss Universe. The Colombian singer J Balvin canceled the presentation of Miss USA.
The president of the United States and many leaders have also criticized the magnate Donald Trump. Mr. Barack Obama launched a nationwide campaign to register more than 8.8 million immigrants, who would become permanent residents. He also claimed that the anti-immigrant speech of Mr. Trump is part of an advertising strategy. "He knows how to get attention... "said in an interview with journalist Steve Kroft during '60 Minutes' program. Meanwhile Jeb Bush, former Governor of Florida and presidential candidate, invited Donald Trump to apologize his wife of Mexican origin. And later argued: Build a wall and deport half a million people a month will cost us hundreds of billions of dollars, destroy the lives of communities and send a signal to the world that the values that are so important to us, do not matter in this country.
The Latino community and their organizations react immediately to the statements of Donald Trump. The group of Latino activists Presente.org launched a national campaign requiring to the US attorneys to take steps to open a criminal investigation. "We demand a full criminal investigation of Donald Trump for fraud and other acts that are potentially jeopardizing the lives of Latino families and the communities of color," said Arturo Carmona, executive director of Presente.org. Moreover, 108,000 Latino activists from MoveOn.org asked to NBC not invite Donald Trump to the celebration of Saturday Night Live on November 7.
The media, press, and artists have also spoken out against the anti-immigrant thought. NBC and Univision channel ended their business relationship with Mr. Trump. They announced that would not be transmitted the annual contests Miss USA and Miss Universe. The singers Steven Tyler, Jackson Browne, Tom Petty and David Byrne, among many others, forbade use their music during the speeches of Mr. Trump.
If Mr. Donald Trump does not want to control the actor who carries in, or if really he just wants to add fame and popularity into his bulging pocket, then he walks in a good way. Because with his ideology has achieved that the Latino community and all the American people is attentive to his life and his history. In this sense, the successful businessman Donald Trump has become a successful winner. He has earned a place in history, which will recognize him as "immigrant's descendant more than anti-immigrant on early twenty-first century".
