The Chain Of Love Is a Testament to Paying it Forward

The chain of love starts when one person offers help in one way or another to someone in need. It could be something as simple as lending your neighbor a cup of sugar, to donating a bag of sugar to a local food pantry. Each act of kindness makes a difference in someones life and in turn that person when they can, will offer help to someone else. There are many different acts of kindness or ways to pay it forward.

Their are local food pantries that during the winter months need more donations than usual, their are homeless shelters that need volunteers to feed the homeless, to donate food, blankets, pillows and cash donations are always welcome. Local charities, such as Goodwill, The Salvation Army and St. Vincent DePaul can always use clothing, household items, books, toys, appliances, kitchen utensils. These organizations help families who are down on their luck, have lost everything due to fires, flooding, tornadoes, hurricanes and other acts of nature. When you donate to these charities you are paying it forward without realizing it. That's how the chain of love continues, one person helps another, then that person helps someone, they help someone else and the circle of love continues to grow.

Any act of kindness you do for someone else usually touches that person in a way that makes them help others. There a little ways to offer assistance. Shovel snow for an elderly neighbor, pick up groceries for those that don't have transportation, give people rides, babysit for a single mom so she can have a few hours to herself. These acts of kindness lead to other acts of kindness and once again, the chain of love grows and will continue to grow because the acts of kindness continues to grow.
