Thrown Under The Bus?

Updated on August 16, 2011

Actually It's Past Time...

Lets Just Make Sure We Save Room For Obama Himself

Obama is on the campaign trail once again. Did you expect more or maybe less? The man who campaigned in 2008 promising a "new way of doing business in Washington DC" and "bringing bipartisanship to the nation's Capitol" is doing just the opposite of what he said once again. I've learned to expect that from this former community organizer turned pretender politician. His latest ploy seems to be "they're placing party before country." Now I'm not sure how many people are buying that line but if it weren't so pathetic it would be hilarious.

An example may be in order. These words spilled from his lips to one gathering, “Some in Congress would rather see their opponents lose than America win … we can’t have patience with that kind of behavior anymore." Has he had a change of heart? I've lost patience with Obama and the majority of Americans seem to express the same sentiment. Isn't this the guy who told Republicans in 2009 that "elections have consequences?" Has he forgotten the message the American electorate sent to DC in 2010 or is he just ignoring it? Now he doesn't want to face the consequences of his lack of leadership and continue to point fingers at every one else but himself. Well, I'll be...

The Democrats are calling this tour his "counteroffensive" but come on. I know a defense when I see one being an old infantry type. Instead of having his buttocks in the Capitol taking care of the nation's business, he's out on the campaign trail casting aspersions on others patriotism? He's about as thin skinned and defensive as I've ever seen him. That's saying something. He wants to display himself as a long suffering, bipartisan President who has continually reached across the aisle only to be slapped back. The lack of bipartisanship during his first two years in office seems to have faded from his memory. Remember Obamacare?

Saturday, during his weekly radio address, he laid out his agenda for this tax payer funded bus tour. He of "the first thing when I wake up and the last thing I think about before I go to sleep is jobs" fame stuck to his lie once again. According to him, the priority now has to be putting people back to work. He's been laying that line on us now for over two solid years and doing everything but that. He's going to unveil his secret plan in September now, after his campaign tour, 10 days on Martha's Vineyard and numerous rounds of golf. How comforting that should be to people struggling to make ends meet.

He talked once more about putting construction workers back to work and is talking about it again out there in the heartland. If it were only that simple. The fix is for Obama to dance a little jig, twinkle his nose, wiggle his ears, borrow more money we don't have to spend and dream up a list of make-work projects and everything will be just fine and dandy. You know the "shovel ready" concept reincarnated. FDR is probably looking down saying, "It didn't work for me you idiot, what makes you think it will work for you?" He has a new stimulus card up his sleeve which probably won't fly too far since his last $800 billion "plan" was flushed down the special interest's toilet. The government doesn't create productive jobs, the private sector does in a capitalist economy. It's hard to get that through a socialist's head though.

Now granted the economy wasn't in the best of shape when he entered office. But according to him, "Give me the economy and I'll fix it." Is that what we are seeing? Anyone living out here in the real world knows beyond a shadow of a doubt that his lack of leadership and total misdirection of economic policy has made it markedly worse. The national debt had hit the ceiling. Then they raised it? He likes to say he "inherited" what we are seeing which is no more than his being the Blameshifter-in-Chief once again. His rhetoric is stale with the American people and the light hasn't come on yet. We don't need more fancy campaign speeches delivered by an all knowing teleprompter. We need a plan, have needed a plan and will continue to need a plan until 2012 when he departs unceremoniously from "The People's House." The person who has to follow this disastrous snake oil salesman will have their hands full. They will have an "inheritance" nobody in their right mind would want to be bequeathed.

I did find it comforting when he indignantly exhorted one crowd to pick up the telephone, use the fax machine, email, tweet, twit, squeak and squawk to their elected representatives on Capitol Hill. Little does he know that I, and many others, have been doing just that and actually seeing the results of our efforts. It's sad that he doesn't really appreciate the "change" we have caused. Obama would be proud of this American patriot! Just this very morning I fired off 6 emails and a dozen faxes to my elected officials regarding his nonsense.

You see my fellow Americans, if you don't agree with Obama's agenda then you are either a racist, a terrorist, an extremist or the numerous other epitaphs his sheeple like to serve up. That's defined as class warfare no matter which way you flip it over in the frying pan. That we surely don't need but a community organizer will always be a community organizer. It's now very apparent that they aren't cut from Presidential cloth or timber.

We just need to make sure there is room under the bus for the most deserving of individuals - OBAMA. So let me open the window one more time and let er rip...

Can You Hear Me Now Obama?

Another great hub! I wish my job would pay for me to touring the country in style. I wonder if his cuts to education are helping fund his assanine campaign tour. He is by far the worst president this country has had in my generation. I've turned a deaf ear to any of his ideas or future plans, even more-so after his ridiculous wife brought a friggin rapper to the white house to promote poetry. Really? Out of all the well known poets in the world who actually put a voice to subjects that touch countless people, these morons bring in a rapper who promotes sex, drugs, and glorifying illegal ways to get money. Really classy.

      Dear Frog Prince,

I don't understand how he remains immune and indifferent to these obvious blunders. He is running around the country talking about job creation in a bus manufactured in China. You can't make this stuff up.

BPOP - Manufactured in China and paid for by the American taxpayer. Since when has any President been allowed to campaign at the tax payer's expense? Oh I forgot, our narcissistic President is special.

Obama became "politics as usual" instead of the messiah that liberals were hoping for. He doesn't have a clue and his actions are the absolute evidence.

His rhetoric only fuels the already extreme hatred of the left towards the right.

He's like a bird blaming the Bush for building a bad nest.

What you have written here is the obviuos truth. It's time for Americans to stop being fans of political celebrities and start working together on fixing the problem of political celebrities.

Obama is the POTUS. The other "prominents" are not. This is a campaign bus tour and it's apparent. We should expect Obama to pay for all of this trip - every last penny.

Obama along with prominent members of the GOP are currently working hard at their #1 priority...raising money. They are all traveling the country, raises money, getting voter support, etc. The system is broken and it can't be fixed by a new president. Congress has the power to create and pass laws, the President can sign or veto. Both sides agree that a major overhaul/simplification of our tax code is needed, nothing is being done. This one act could spur some economic growth but the problem is congress is out and about campaigning and so is the president. We heard it clearly from the GOP leader of the Senate, their #1 priority is getting Obama out of office. This means the GOP focus is on raising money to do just that. We already know Obama re-negged on his promise to clean the lobbyist out of washington. Until this fundamental change is made, both sides will always be focused on raising money and not working for the people. According to several freshman House members (Dems and Republicans), the average House Member spends 70-80% of their day calling corporations and interest groups to solicit campaign money.

Great Hub, as usual. Obama will never change. Our only hope is to throw him out. Truth be told, Obama WANTS Americans to be fearful and economically weak. Such an atmosphere of "underlying terror" is essential to maintaining dictatorial power, which Obama aspires to. Those with a sense of courage, and memory of prosperity, are a dictator's worse nightmare (they are the ones who will storm the Bastille when the tyranny becomes too severe). This is why socialist/communist rulers, despite their rhetoric to the contrary, desire a somewhat impovrished proletariat (the idea is that people who lose hope won't fight to implement their natural rights).

At least We the People have been given the great honor of paying for the big black Secret Service bus under which we are being thrown under. Plus the 25-vehicle motorcade following The Beast (Big Beast version), presumably for the purpose of making sure we under-bus types are properly squished and flattened at the end of the day.

You know. Just in case the bus undercarriage had too much ground clearance and the wheels missed us.

Alan - The problem is in the US of A is that our federal government keeps expanding and adding layers of bureaucracy and regulations that stifle business growth. Not quite "limited" as the founding fathers desired it to be.

PP - You're a poet and don't know it pal. LOL

Dave - If one expects honor among thieves, they are deluding themselves.

We've all heard of "Organized Crime" or the "Mafia". If you ask me, that group could take lessons from Politicians who legally tax you to death, by the passing of some law or bill. And they call themselves "Honourable".
