Tragedy strikes the hearts of familys in Newtown, Connecticut

Updated on December 15, 2012

Its a sad day for the U.S.

Yesterday I awoke to what I thought would be another day of work and Christmas shopping in these few days before Christmas. Little did I know I would spend most of the day heartbroken and in tears over the tragedy, which Newtown, Connecticut had to face. The news disgusted me yesterday my soul ached for those that suffered in the tragedy. Being a mother of young children myself, I could not even begin to understand what these parents are feeling.

Yesterday shortly after school started at Sandy Hook Elementary School an armed man made entrance into the school and released a torment of fire into two classrooms and the hallways killing 7 adults and 20 children, before taking his own life. Just typing this makes my stomach turn, all those lives lost at such a young age and in such a place that we all assume our children will be safe and cared for.

My heart goes out to all the family’s that have suffered and to all those teachers that helped to save the lives of their students you are all brave and should be commended. There has not been any information released as to why this has happened or what the motive of this horrible man is, Adam Lanza a 20 year old male, is the one to blame for this tragedy. His picture will not be included in this article because I feel that he should not be what or who is on our minds. The teachers and children should be in our thoughts right now they should be the only one getting our Nations attention. There could be no reasoning for children to be hurt, there is nothing they could have done to a man that could have reasoned such a response.

Please have these families in your thoughts during this rough time in their lives and in our Nations history.
