US Health Care: Highway to Hell

Updated on November 27, 2009

As you are aware our Congressmen and Senators are still pushing the health care cause despite the wishes of the American people. But they need to get it done now because they know you will soon forget. They want their jobs back with the the upcoming elections in 2010.

The democrats have two options to play. One is they will hail it as a victory and proclaim themselves as heroes of the American people. However, they know most Americans are not in favor of government run health care as it now stands. Many people have grown weary and fearful. More than likely the Democrats will distance themselves from it though tricky rhetoric.

They are banking that you will fall for it again because you did before. That's exactly what they did under Clinton in 1993 and 1994. If you remember Clinton was reelected despite the negative fallout.

The latest edition of the health care plan includes jail time and serious fines for those of you who don't have health care. For those of you who won't afford it, others will be forced to give up the prospect of having better insurance so you can have it. You can leech off them. That may be harsh but many will continue to bleed the system just as they do now. Unfortunately, it hurts the ones who can not truly afford it. Perhaps it's just the change you wanted?

For sure many will receive free health care. Government is good at giving free handouts. But why are there so many poor today? Could it be government who only gives just enough to keep them poor while restricting income to become self dependent?

Apparently your government isn't so keen on life because the abortion language in the bill has been praised by Nancy Pelosi. An elite Democrat who has been mentally drunken and corrupted by the millions of dollars she raises annually for her own reelection. But your money has been paying for abortions for years. At least it's up front this time. If your government is willing to kill off unborn life, what chance do you stand? Will the money be distributed for killing or saving your life. What a question to ponder? At least you know its coming - you're living.

This was suppose to be for health care for all, no exceptions. But according to Senator Harry Reid it will cover only 96% of the people. Let's see, there were 12 million without health care before and after with the new bill - what a coincidence - 12 million will be without health care. I know they said 47 million didn't have it but hey, you believed them because you didn't do you're research to see if they were lying. Well, ok - they didn't lie, they did say 12 million at first and then stretched to 47 million over the months leading to the first draft of the bill. If you don't believe me then I dare you dredge through the US Census data yourself. That's where you'll find the truth.

If you're on Medicare you're safe. Although Reid said there will be cuts backs there won't be. This is just rhetoric to justify the extreme cost of this affordable system. The fact is that government never takes anything back.

The cost is now at 1.2 trillion dollars. That's what your government says it going to cost you. Harry Reid says 800 billion but he didn't tell you that is the figure if it's deferred a few years while taxes are implemented first to generate revenue. Yet Pelosi says it will be deficit neutral. Is someone lying here?

Your going to pay first and get health care later. You will receive no benefits while your taxed for it. The taxes will hurt. How do you feel about your government taking money from your children that they have yet to earn? Does it make you feel good?

It seems $100 million (as Medicaid) is already earmarked for a "yes" vote from Louisiana Congresswoman Mary Landrieu. How many lives can $100 million save? Do the needs of the few out weigh the needs of the many? Not a bad trade off - a few lives to pass a historic bill.

A government task force of politically minded bureaucrats have improved the guidelines for breast cancer. Women should now have mammograms every two years starting a age 50 instead of age 40 with annual checkups. Women should stop self breast examinations because women can’t save their own lives. But government doesn’t think women are capable.

The Obama administration quickly distanced itself from these guidelines but one can't help to think that it is related to single payer health care. Will this become government policy? You do realize government will set health care policy moving forward.

There are those that want you to think that there are serious problems with our free market health care system. They may be correct but lie to you as to the reasons. What they don't tell you is the free market is not free. Government restricts insurers from operating over state lines and every state restricts competition through licensing. If government would step out of the way, health care would be much more inexpensive.

Advocates for a government system complain about unnecessary deaths due to affordability. Perhaps those deaths are clearly on their hands since they wanted intervention in the first place. Now they want a government takeover. How is that justified?

It is true health care is expensive. Not just because of government intervention and regulation. The dollar is worthless and only able to purchase 5% of what it did in 1913. But that's regulated too. We certainly need reform but government is not going to step aside anytime soon.

Has it ever dawned on anyone that some of the expense is due to the high value of life we place on ourselves? Does government have the same values?

We really don't know the true value cost of health care. How much is actually spent on health care versus government regulation? We only know it will cost more tomorrow because when government intervenes prices always go up.

We also don’t know how dishonest private insurers are either. How much of it (if any) is protecting their own interest from government regulation, taxes, and threats for even more regulation. How much is due to government induced corruption through political compensation?

One thing is clear after looking over this monstrosity. It is clearly a redistribution of wealth and budget buster. Maybe that's the plan after all. Break the economy and rebuild it in the Communist style. A style where the poor depends on government and has just enough and the elite creates the rules with a foot on your jugular? Middle class? What middle class?

Now some of you would say I'm fear mongering? But what is fear mongering? Ah, it's rhetoric for calling someone a liar who can’t be called a liar. And you would be right that I am not a liar. I'm just repeating what your government is saying and doing.

Have you read the bill? If not, you need to get busy before another thought crosses your mind. Then you will know who is fear mongering.

If you can't acknowledge what is happening in front of you then perhaps you are on the highway to hell. The question you will have to eventually ask is - do I deserve this? Could it be you have taken on values other than your own?

      Thanks for all your comments.

One thing I need to make clear is the penalties for not having insurance is written in language that is open and left up to the "Secretary".

A memo from the Joint Committee on Taxation suggested 5 years imprisonment of up to $250,000 in fines. Fear mongering?

The abortion language appears to sit on a fence (so to speak) at first glance. But the language is open ended and leans toward abortion coverage.

It's a tough read but I took the approach to scan using keywords to follow through on the different sections that the provisions are written in.

My take on it is they can do what they want down the road and add amendments as often as they want.

Finally, I could not disprove anything negative about the bill in the media.

Joe, you summed up everything I have heard about healthcare. And you appear to be right on mark. with facts and someone dares to call this all lies!

These liberals want us to pay for their freaking health insurance. They do not understand it is a government takeover ploy, those freaking idiots. They actually want socialism and the steps that we may be heading. How about the millions who fought and died to keep our freedoms, and we just let it be taken from us by our own doing. This is outrageous. The evil within us is doing us in. It just sickens me.

      Keep on hubbing!

Just read the bill! Or are you afraid?

Steven - I am dead on right and your government has data to back me up - all you need to do is read it.

If you don't have health care your going to jail. I didn't say it - your government did. You can prove it - read the bill!

We were under the gold standard in 1913, that's why a dollar was worth a dollar. Today, the Fed decides what a dollar is worth.

I admire your use of out and out lies, mixed with half truths and stirred into a Fear Cocktail that you expect people to swallow because you are a talented writer. Immoral as the day is long, but talented at stringing propaganda together to frighten people. The underling truth of your statements is that you know nothing, but want everyone to feel your fear of a coward.

Not one study or poll has show the American people do anything but favor health care reform. A poll of republicans asked if they wanted to defeat Obama and then the published that, but it has been debunked as all your arguments that you present here.

Yes, everything was cheaper in 1913, wow, what a statement, of course they had no cancer because when you died it was called consumption. Televisions cost less, because they did not have them and auto insurance was way, way cheaper, because in 1913 my Grandfather rode his horse, a stallion named Thunder to work as a Texas Ranger.

The republicans keep arguing that they do not want interference between a doctor and patient - oh wait - they want abortion stopped - which is a fundamental destruction of a doctor and patient decision - you can not have it both ways.

If you do not like Abortion what have you done to make the life of a pregnant woman better - I do not like abortion so I adopted two kids from parents that could not keep them - why not put your big mouth to use fixing something - making a life better - preaching fear is a disgusting act of a coward - what have you ever done that lets you preach lies as truth and hope as fear... NOTHING - that is your life.. how pathetic.
