Ukraine is not teetering and it is not civil unrest it is a civil war.

Updated on April 19, 2014

We know our capacity for slaughter and hate and genocide.

Ukraine will suffer a horrible civil war and they already are suffering.

Russia was not more successful in Afghanistan as the US was in Vietnam. For the same reason. The people were not behind either. Maters of war were. Bot had ethnic, moral, economic and political reasons and both failed for those reasons.

However if the US allows the Russians to "support" the ethnic Russian of the country they will slaughter and commit mayhem and then enslave the Ukrainians of that ethnicity.

Here is the Headling with proper attribution:

UN Security Council meets as Ukraine 'teeters on the brink'

CNN - ‎34 minutes ago‎ Donetsk, Ukraine (CNN) -- Strong condemnations and accusations were traded Sunday night as the U.N. Security Council held an urgent, previously unscheduled meeting to discuss the worsening crisis in Ukraine. (googe news)

"bad things happen when good men do nothing --- horrible things happen when good nations do nothing." (ed 2014)

Urgency indicates lack of action. Just think about it if you are doing something about something it is not longer urgent, it is being done.

Ethnic Genocide may now be worse than this great song.

This situation is going to remind us of ethnic cleansing.

I will toot my horn here on a hub I wrote during what they called the riots: http://ericdierker.hubpages.com/hub/Rebellion-in-the-Ukraine-Kiev-while-Sochi-is-wrapping-up

It could have stayed a rebellion but Obama and the EU let Russia come make it a dooms day for Ukrainians of Ukrainian culture. Here the problem.

Gas is the problem. Yes once again gas -- power from gas -- different from oil but just as important to the EU. Sound like the middle east?

Russia will run into protect their gas lines -- EU will rush into protect theirs and Ukrainian people will freeze next winter and lose massive amounts of need cash flow which will weaken them further. Making it more likely for uprisings and more justification for the Russians to let the ethnic Russian brutalize the Ukrainian it is a sad state of affairs.

Here is part of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights - Preamble

Whereas recognition of the inherent dignity and of the equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family is the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world,

Whereas disregard and contempt for human rights have resulted in barbarous acts which have outraged the conscience of mankind, and the advent of a world in which human beings shall enjoy freedom of speech and belief and freedom from fear and want has been proclaimed as the highest aspiration of the common people,

Whereas it is essential, if man is not to be compelled to have recourse, as a last resort, to rebellion against tyranny and oppression, that human rights should be protected by the rule of law,

Whereas it is essential to promote the development of friendly relations between nations,

Whereas the peoples of the United Nations have in the Charter reaffirmed their faith in fundamental human rights, in the dignity and worth of the human person and in the equal rights of men and women and have determined to promote social progress and better standards of life in larger freedom,

http://www.un.org/en/documents/udhr/

This real.

It is tough to take.

War is hell on earth.

Allowing ethnic cleansing is like the eternal type of hell. This is going to happen if we do not do something. As I said before: Bad things happen when good men do nothing, and horrible things happen when good nations do nothing.

I am deeply sorry and troubled that the natural gas line is preventing the saving of lives and the preservation of freedom. There is a notion of "blood" money. And now there is the notion of bloody energy money.

We must move quickly and resolutely. A single Russian Soldier in Ukraine is one to many. Crimea is was a hostile invasion and occupation. It is wrong.

Is it worth to let this escalate?

Do you care at all about the issues here?

NATO has the capacity.

NATO was and is designed to protect and defend against the aggression of just this sort of kind.

-- It confirms the North Atlantic Treaty Organization's core task of defending its territory and its commitment to collective defense of its members. It also commits the alliance to developing new defenses against threats such as cyber and missile attack.

-- It recommits the alliance to crisis-prevention and crisis management operations and to working more closely with international partners including the United Nations and the European Union.

-- It commits NATO to working toward a world without nuclear weapons, but says that while such weapons exist NATO will remain a nuclear-armed alliance. ((Reuters)

We note it was horrible influence by a Russsian puppet president in Ukraine that kept them out of the EU and NATO. Whille Crimea is lost there is not reason for Ukraine to now become full members fo both those organization and it can be done yesterday.

War of Aggression

When all is said and done it is quite apparent that Russia was the one to block Ukraine EU and NATO alliance for Ukraine. They did this by influencing the Leader with money to help the country which clearly never reached the people. This of course caused the unrest (riots) which of course gave excuse for a Russian invasion.

In all fairness the US still does this kind of thing. I really do not think we had nothing to do with the Arab Spring or the Polish resistance. Venezuela looks the same to a degree. Definitely part of the game plan with Iraq.

They need a blank slate to establish Ukraine

Conclusiion

Nobody likes war who is not psychotic. No one like the suppression of human rights. Nobody likes people being killed -- again unless they are psychotic.

So power is or can literally be defined as the taken of freedom away from another. Freedom is a sought after state of being. Power people take away freedoms. Some times we let them. And we should not. So sometimes power has to fight power. We Americans must accept that we are powerful, that we can take away freedoms. And we must stay ever vigilante to use our power to protect freedom from other powers.

That Flag still stands for freedom. And it stands throughout the world for freedom. So those who want power will always attack that flag and what it stands for.

We must use our power to stop the war in Ukraine.

If we say it is not our war then we deny our humanity. If we say it costs to much then we are stingy and greedy. If we fail to ask "if it were my brother?", then we are lost at sea.

UPDATE

Some compromise has been reached but Russia's Putin is balking and apparently not removing any armed forces. And the UN still has not sent in peace keepers. The full extent of historic ethnic divisions and hatred is still not clear. But the Eastern Ukrainians of any minority are still at risk. We need to stay mindful not of the politics but of the "skirmishes" that tend to leave mass graves.

Any ethnicity or cultural subgroup should immediately have UN monitors in place to report and keep the world apprised of situations.
