We Need a New Dream

Old dream begone

Cut away self-indulgence

Since 1987, plundering

Resources from Mother Earth

So fast, cannot build

Our financial woes

Mirrors the green planet’s fold

The tribe going

Mother Earth speaks to us in her plants and animals

Summoned the trancers

We need to have a new dream

Collective trance

Too much self-focus

How to unlock our selves

Create the new dream

Today’s new choices

Will birth the big picture

Meaningful lives

Call up the dream new

Neither here nor there in sleep

Speak to yourself now

Where you want to go

What you want to see and do

What you want to learn

Old dream begone

Cut away self-indulgence

After listening to Lynne Twist's talks I was captured about the meeting of the ancient and the modern. And here,we were given the hidden tribes of the Amazon. TEDx Lynne Twist had put it, the Amazonian tribe sent out a SOS dream into the ethers and those that needed to hear and heed the call (the dream) did.

      What are we dreaming?

Who do we need to dream for or to?

Caring for ancient tribes and the environment may not be your call but see if we can dream our big picture dream, think it, know it, and then and only then can we be living out more of our own personal purpose that contributes, rather than takes.

All not new ideas but I know I needed to hear it again. So the poem followed.

I often get aggravated regarding our Mother Earth and society. So often it is a celebrated cause - that we must enlist in. I was just raised that we must have a small footprint. That we must leave all nature better for us having visited. That we must mourn injury to her. And we must lead by example in building a way of life that shows respect.

And my parents taught us that 50 years ago before it was popular.

So needless to say, I really love this poem.

Nice message here my friend. We all need to take on a new and fresh look at starting to rebuild that which we have maligned for so long, our planet. Blessings to you on this fine day. whonu
