We the People: Who are the People? Really!

I do give Dr. Carson credit for stimulating my mind, for causing me to think about this issue of "We the People" and "A More Perfect Union" a little more. I assumed that I knew who "We the People" were, and what the "Union" is.

Dr. Ben Carson's new book, that was just published recently, is a 240 page discourse that is meant to shed more light on how he thinks and it is meant to expose his political philosophy on issues that are grounded in the Constitution.

The full title of his book is "A More Perfect Union: What We the People Can Do to Reclaim Our Constitutional Liberties." It amazes me how politicians, that people who are running for offices lead us to believe that they are "one of us many" until they are elected and take office. Then there appears to be an immediate distancing of themselves from we (the People). It is as if, once the campaign is won, there is no more need for (we, the People). It rapidly becomes a situation of them and us.

Things like shutting the government down, once, and then contemplating shutting it down a second time, becomes easy, once you are in office and the campaign is far behind you. I am speaking of both Republicans and Democrats, by the way. I am not singling out anybody here. I am just looking at the Political situation and trying to make a little sense out of it.

Let's take a closer look at this "Preamble to the United States Constitution" just to get it etched into our minds so that we can "hold fast to it," taking it to the polls with us when we go to vote for a person, regardless of his or her political party, whom we believe will best exercise his or her duties for us, "We the People."

The Preamble to the United States Constitution reads,

"We the People of the United States,

in Order to form a more perfect Union,

establish Justice,

insure domestic Tranquility,

provide for the common defence,

promote the general Welfare,

and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves

and our Posterity,

do ordain and establish this Constitution

for the United States of America."

We have this wonderful Constitution for the United States of America that was designed to, that is, written to do all the great things that this Preamble reveals to us. It is a beautiful thing, this Constitution. However, things are not getting done correctly. The "Founding Fathers" put a lot of time and energy into this document, trying to get it right for future generations of leaders to use, but our leaders do not appear to be able to work together well enough to fulfill the promises that are contained in this masterpiece of a document.

There is no "More Perfect Union,

there is no Justice,

there is no Domestic Tranquility,

and President Putin is a greater threat to us than he has ever been (because he knows that "A House divided against its self cannot stand." We are a divided Union. (with no common defense that will prevent us from going to close to a Nuclear War situation with Putin. Putin is a very, very dangerous man that is part of the "Old Guard" of the USSR. He will go to war against us "at the drop of a hat." He is nobody to play with. We need our leaders in D.C. to be "playing by the same sheet of music" to back this guy, Putin, down. To keep this guy in check.

and as we can see, "the general Welfare" for all Americans is not a priority,

and the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity has not been secured yet.

This is why there are Americans contemplating the election of ones likened unto Dr. Carson or Mr. Trump.


Dr. Carson is "riding high," just as Mr. Trump is doing very well in the polls. Both of these candidates are enjoying the advantage of being close to "the People" at the moment.

But the Union is not "more perfect," it is more broken, and it is becoming more and more broken, even as our leaders move us closer to another "government shut-down" situation.

And the leaders who hold the majority of the seats in both the House and the Senate of Congress are asking themselves, "What happened," why are "The People" so angry with us? Why do they want the likes of Dr. Carson and Mr. Trump who are Washington Outsiders? Why do they want these guys who are not even politicians instead of polished congressmen and congresswomen like ourselves?

Dear Politicians in Washington, D.C., "Know ye not that "The People" have the Power and not yourselves? Don't you have sense enough to realize that "The People" put you in office in the first place, and that "The Buck" stops with "The People?" The People decides who will lead this Great Nation and not you guys. You guys just work for "The People," Get it! This ain't rocket science (forgive the ain't). All you need is common sense to understand this stuff, not an advanced degree from some renowned university.

Okay, I have said enough. Probably, too much. I would like for "The People" to keep and eye on what is happening to our country. Pay attention so that when you approach the voting polls you can get it right. Remember who you are. You are "The People." You have power! Great power! You have a vote that counts for something.

      The People translate to American Citizens, and Voters.

      The problem is that the creators of the US Constitution didn't realize how powerful the political parties would become. The democrats and the republicans have divided the country into Red and Blue, and the Constitution was crafted in terms of Purple.

      The democrats and the republicans are diametrically opposite in their goals for the country. They have enlisted the aid of their loyal party voters. These voters are the People because they vote, and they can change the government. They did change the government from good, to bad, to pathetic.

      Political Correctness has also chilled the freedoms mentioned in the constitution, and it has also divided the country. PC is a Social Issue, and neither the constitution or the Supreme Court can solve social issues.

      PC and other schemes of Liberalism water down the US Constitution to favor the creators of the scheme as opposed to the ideas and goals of the founders of this country.

      As long as we have the loyal party voters, the parties will take advantage of them, and ignore them while they execute the hidden goals of the party.

      Nothing will change for the better in this country as long as we have the loyal party voter.

      Look back at recent history, and it will verify my contention that nothing good will happen when either party takes control.
