What's Wrong With This Picture?

Updated on February 12, 2009

Attention President Obama - Don't Repeat Bush's Mistakes

I could write dozens upon dozens of articles about the many errors of the recently departed Thief In Chief, aka Boy George, aka W, but I think our country is depressed enough so we don't need to be reminded of the policies that caused the economic meltdown that has our nation in its worst shape since the 1930s.

That said, I received an email from a friend of mine, who admittedly is much further to the political right than I am. As such, I'm sure Dave won't appreciate me framing this as one of the many failings of the Bush Administration.

Take a look at this:

In 2007,  5 million of our older Americans had  Not signed up in the given time,   For their Medicare, Part D, drug plan--  They are old and confused.  YET they were NOT  Granted an extension.    However, the 12 million illegal aliens in our  Country were allowed to stay, protest, procreate, receive support monies, attend schools,  Avoid paying income taxes,  Have our teachers take  300 hours of Spanish as a Second Language  And training at our expense, etc.    THE GOVERNMENT MUST REALLY DISLIKE  OUR OLDER AMERICAN CITIZENS,

Let us see how the government will  Handle the program for the 2009  Year for our senior citizens.

Stand By Senior Citizens, President Obama

Now President Obama, The Ball Is In Your Court

I hear President Obama is a big basketball fan and player, so he will no doubt enjoy my choice of words in the headline above. Truly and seriouly, though, Mr. President, this is another opportunity for you to show how much better our nation will be with you at the helm.

I will assume that my friend's reference to old people being "old and confused" as an attempt at humor, one which he is entitled to make since he is part of that crowd himself. All kidding aside, Dave did bring to light a problem that needs to be fixed. President Obama has already reversed many of the policies of the failed Bush Administration, and if there is a way that he can distinguish himself with the senior citizens of our great nation, I can think of no better way than to ensure that every American who is eligible to receive Medicare Part D be allowed to do so, without deadlines.

As for the rest of that email, I will confess that I have not checked those statements for accuracy, because my intention in posting it here was illustrate, in a humorous way, yet another opportunity for our new President to show the millions of Americans who voted for change that he was not simply talking about quarters, dimes and nickels!

I also put my check towards my house...the one thing that is truly mine and I must keep...and only time will tell what will happen but he sounded earnest yesterday when suggesting that the wall street A holes stop giving themselves raises when they are asking the American people to help them out...I think it came from within and he was truly being honest??? Like I have said it is NO one man's takes all of US...G-Ma :o) hugs & Peace ( I pray for his safety)

When we got our stimulus check, it went right to the taxes on our house and car and the Homeowners dues, which by the way they doubled. That kind of hurt the budget lots. Long story--when we moved into this house 6 years ago iour homeownere dues were like 250 a year. last year it was 400+ and that doesn't include the Trash Service which also doubled. There is a family that lives down the stree that has hit hard times and he just got hi electric turned back on after 6 months., They aren't old either but I do wonder ho the older generation does it. I also watched a program about Assisted living facilites and the cost of such per day----it is crazy! I mean Crazy at the prices they charge!!!! Something needs to be done with that!

I agree with you Sir Dent. I believe the proof will be in the pudding, as they say. When the stimulus package was passed under George Bush, it was laughable. Many people simply used the money to pay debts, which may have been good for them, but it didn't do diddly to jump start the economy. This new package has the potential to be just as much of a disaster. We can only hope that is not the case.

      Thanks for the comment!

I believe this is something that should be addressed, but I also believe the new stimulus package should also be addressed. Another package of more than 800 billion dollars (the exact amount varies from day to day)? The last 800 billion helped who?
