Where Are You, Mr. President?
Searching for Obama
Good Morning, Breakfastpoppers. Today is Thursday, July 10, 2014. Our noisy friend, Chiquita Cicada, is here with me at the breakfast table. She has brought along enough breakfast burritos to feed an army. Please join Chiquita at the table. She is mystified by the behavior of the President of the United States and she needs to vent. We hope to see you soon.
On The Road Again..
Thank you all for joining me this morning. Your President Obama is on the road again. He is in Texas to attend two fundraisers for Democrats. Let me repeat that. Your President Obama is in Texas to attend two fundraisers. He is not in Texas to witness, first hand, the growing invasion of illegal immigrants on the southern border with Mexico. Perhaps he doesn't want to be associated with a crisis he created.
While thousands upon thousands of children, men and women are walking into the country, your President Obama is refusing to make an appearance despite pleas from both Democrats and Republicans to do just that. Those who are urging President Obama to go, want him to see just how bad things are. A human tragedy is unfolding at the border and President Obama is detached, aloof and out to lunch, or should I say fundraise?
Bad Photo Op
Clearly, President Obama doesn't want to be seen in the same locale as all the children lying around like sardines on the floor. Perhaps he is afraid one of the kids will cough near him. The kind of TB they are carrying spreads like wildfire. Although he said that this crisis is not about a photo op , he didn't pass up the opportunity to have his photo taken shooting pool with Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper. It seems to this bug that your President Obama wants to show America just how unconcerned he is about all these people streaming into the US. I can't imagine that the American people are pleased with their president's casual attitude to a grave crisis. His only involvement thus far is to ask Congress for $3.7 billion in emergency spending to increase resources at the border. Although he has talked about how this emergency funding will be spent, Republicans in Congress don't trust him to do the right thing. They may be on to something. Perhaps they are ready to learn from the past, President Obama's past to be exact.
Come On Over!
President Obama remarked that his focus is on solving the problem at the border. If that is the case, why is he wasting time raising money for Democratic candidates. If the crisis is at the forefront of his thoughts and priorities, why is he avoiding the plague at the borders? It just may be too messy for his sensitive soul. Perhaps he is afraid of gang members who have crossed over the borders. It is already known that MS-13, a notorious international gang, has very strong ties to several of the Central American countries that illegal aliens are leaving. None of these people have anything to fear. The green light is shining bright for anyone wanting entry into the United States. Every day loads of these people, the children included, are leaving the camps and disappearing into towns and cities all across America. If President Obama is concerned about this dangerous breach of national security he has an odd way of showing it. He has taken time out to shoot pool with a fellow Democrat. Perhaps a quick golf game is in order, as well. After all, how serious can this crisis really be if the President of the United Staes is relaxed enough to play games. If he's not worried, the American people shouldn't be worried either.
Head in the Sand
It is time to take your collective heads out of the sand. President Obama prefers to keep his head buried, but the American people can't afford the luxury of apathy or ignorance. Your nation is under siege and your president is playing pool and playing with your lives. I am not being dramatic. I am being realistic and I fear for the future of your great nation. Short of marching on Washington, which I feel is a good idea, bombard your representatives with e-mails, snail mail and phone calls. Make their lazy lives miserable and don't let up. It is now or never!
I'm Chiquita Cicada and I'm here to say
Tell Congress to act
Or you'll make them go away!
