Where Do Harvard Students Get Their News From?
Earlier this year Harvard's library published a “research guide” on how to spot “fake news,” listing more than 500 websites to avoid; unsurprisingly, the majority of the list includes libertarian/conservative independent news sites like the Ron Paul Institute and the Drudge Report.
The list was put together by Professor Melissa Zimdars from Merrimack College with the help of an unknown librarian. The report displays clear biases; the word “conservative” appears 19 times on the list while “liberal” appears only 4 times.
With Liberal professors in New England outnumbering conservative 28 to 1, the fight to alienate the conservative voice has become quite apparent.
I visited Harvard to ask students if they agreed with the university publishing their own fake news list and where they prefer to get their news from.
