Why Snoop Dogg Should Not Involve Himself With the NHL

Why Snoop Dogg will ruin and corrupt the NHL

Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. (a.k.a. Snoop Dogg) should not represent the NHL; this "artist" who has previously been charged with murder, claimed 187 (California police radio code for homicide) on undercover cops, mocked a shooting of the 45th President of the United States and make his album the "toe tag" of the President represents the antithesis of what the NHL has worked so hard to represent.

Consider the remarkable outreach program Nashville Predators star P.K. Subban has created in "Blueline Buddies". This program takes inner city youth, connects them with local Nashville Metro Police Officers and starts a mentorship program. P.K. has been a great star both on and off the ice for the Predators but recently took a photo with Snoop Dogg, the cop hating, murderous ranting, wanna-be gangster.

Is this the imagine the NHL wants? The NHL is attempting to bring more kids into the sport and what better way than to bring in celebrities; and admittedly celebrities have become increasingly political but most are not ranting about how the want to kill cops, the President, hang out with "gangsters" and have actually caught a murder charge before.

So why Snoop Dogg?

According to Calum Slingerland at http://exclaim.ca/music/article/nhl_enlists_snoop_dogg

""The league has enlisted the Doggfather to help casual fans better understand and enjoy hockey as the playoffs kick off tonight, breaking down the sport's rules and culture for those tuning in with a series of videos titled "Snoop 101."

"One of the things we noticed when Snoop came to our All-Star game a couple years ago in Los Angeles was not only is he Snoop and everybody loves him, but he really loves hockey," NHL executive vice president Steve Mayer told Deadline. ""

What kind of world do we live in where the one sport (that I know of) that is not protesting the Nation Anthem to the United States of America is now showcasing a wanna-be homicidal gangster. As a die-hard NHL fan I stopped watching the All-Star game when Snoop came on and I have lost a lot of respect for PK Subban and the NHL organization.

Everyone reading I hope understand this is less about your political affiliation and more about representation that murder; including, murder of the President, police officers or anyone else is unacceptable and not what our society is about.
