"YES WE CAN" by Merwin

Updated on October 27, 2012

You know... Once upon a time, I didn't use to know what Political "BAIT and SWITCH" was. That is of course until Nixon came along and introduced me to the term, then Papa Bush came along and refined my understanding. Then of course Baby Bush elevated the phrase to B & S 101. But the absolute PHD Professor and Dean of Corrections when it comes to my education for that phrase, has been Obama...

With all the Charisma this guy had while campaigning, and the anti-war rhetoric he was spouting, and the promises for CHANGE of the way an UN-transparent Washington does business... I came VERY CLOSE to voiting for him. Instead, I wrote in Alan Keyes (did not know much of Ron Paul), but, I came very, very close because I really, really liked Obama.

The very sad thing is... I don't believe that Mitt Obamney is going to be any better. I do expect to see Federally enforced Martial Law, and the FEMA Detention (concentration) Camps being filled and a lot of citizens murdered in the next term, no matter which of these two candidates get elected,

They both are puppets of the World Central Banking Machinery. They are simply go-fers for the Corporatocracy. Can we get real about our Presidential expectations..? "YES WE CAN."

      2 Old Poolman...

Mike, my friend I agree with you.

However, when we were given the choice for a candidate, with a 30 year running record and keeping his promises, a man that, was given the opportunity (during his hiatus from congress) to receive his full pension and he turned it down. A congressmen who kept every campaign promise he ever made. A man that every year as congressman returned that portion of his congressional pay that was above the median wage of John Q. Public (or around $39 K).

Who "promised" to cut Federal Spending by 1 trillion in the first year and by extension of the policies of that cut keep the spending at that level. And put our economy back on track in doing so. Get our military home, stop sending money to other countries, including the ones that hate us.

When we had (still have) the choice to send the message to That Evil Beltway Machine that is driven by the World's Banking system by voting for this man... insisting, no, demanding to have him as a Standard Bearer for what is politically wrong and right, accent on the "right", what do we do with the opportunity? We shuffle our feet, scratch our heads, and ask is he even electable.

      Is he electable..? WHAT..??

The answer of course is a SCREAMING... NO, HE IS NOT ELECTABLE! Non-Electability for an man that is honestly going to do something to fix this country is a foregone conclusion. Voting for RON PAUL in every manner possible is NOT going to get him elected.

I will write that again differently... Ron Paul cannot get elected.

The machinery in place that elects ALL who serve (the Corporatocracy) now in politics is corrupt. We The People are not going to get a fair deal.

Then why vote (write in) for Ron Paul or even Gary Johnson? Two big reasons.

It clears my conscience. It sends a message.

I have to say I agree completely with you. I have lost the last little bit of trust I had for any politician. It is so sad we find ourselves once again being forced to vote for the lesser of the evils. Wouldn't it be great if someone would step forward that would be willing to serve only one term allowing him/her to get some things accomplished. As it is now, all Presidents are very careful their first term, lose the last year campaigning, and accomplish very little. We need a President who will get elected, make some people angry, and do what needs to be done.
