Yep...people would stop getting beat up for no reason. Arrested without justifiable cause and the crime rate would drop to zero. I'm just kidding by the way.
There is a lot of abuse coming from the justice department in America. One of the biggest problems is folks being arrested over minute things just so the court can rack up money. I've seen it happen a lot through the years. Granted, if someone actually does break the law, they should pay for it.
However, a friend of mine was leaving the bar last weekend when the cops grabbed him and beat him down. He had to have stitches in his ear and for no reason. Bear in mind, I am not taking just his word but several eye witnesses to the matter all told me the same story.
He was leaving the bar and four cops grabbed him, slammed him against a car and started beating him until he was laying there in his own blood. He did not resist arrest. He did not make any threatening motions or do anything wrong, at all according to the people that were there that night including, one of the bouncers.
Ultiamtely, we do need the police, especially in the case of domestic crime but we also need police to be able to act responsibly and get off the power trip their badges bring them. I think all officers of the law should have to have a psyche evaluation done twice, yearly to determine if they are still fit to serve.
