Disagree, it is the stuff I don't know that keeps me awake at night...let's just say the unknown things keep my mind racing...not all the time, but those long, toss and turn nights.
Hi,
Yes I do agree. I remember in particular when I first started nurse training. Learning about all the different diseases and conditions you could get was interesting, but often I could have sworn I was developing symptoms of some of the diseases and yes it kept me awake at night!!
No. Knowledge is power. The powerful and rich do not want you to have the knowledge that they possess. They would rather you slept on whilst they carry on stealing and manipulating the world for their own benefit. To them people like you are a gift. They would much prefer a world in which we were all like you: somnambulists, blithely ignorant of the crimes that they commit every hour of every day.
It 's time to wake up and start paying attention.
In effect you are saying that ignorance is bliss. To the ignorant that may seem true, but to the knowledgeable it is clearly false. As others here have already said, knowledge is power, the more you know the less chance of falling or failing.
Yes!
1) If you're really stupid then you don't care, you don't know and you wouldn't be smart of enough to answer this question.
2) If you are only a little bit stupid then you're guilty of any two from #1.
3) if you're not the least bit stupid, then you're trying to figure out how to enjoy life as much as #1 while retaining your #3 status, in which case, you are not getting the same sleep as #1.
This is very similar to movie matrix, do you want to know reality or live fake life? Makes me wonder about same thing.
Yes, this is why the American people are asleep when it comes to protecting the constitution from the thieves who are working diligently to erode it!
If I were to hazard a guess I would guess the one who asked this question sleeps very well, indeed. :-)
Well I don't agree with that at all - except for that time I was in a coma:)
disagree! Waiting to know about something or even just wanting to know something keeps me up more than trying to forget something I do know!
Completely disagree, because you definitely have complete knowledge of everything so that's wrong to say less you know and better you sleep..
It depends on the subject matter ...if your thinking about taxation then, it's in your best interest to figure it all out or get help before the tax men starts to chase you, but if you thinking about the creation of the universe then you might as well take it easy as clearly its not something that your going to answer in one life time as the subject matter is too large to even contemplate answering all areas of that topic. In that case I would say the less you think about it the better you'd sleep.
Knowledge they say is power, ignorance is not an excuse so i would disagree with this statement.
The less i know the more disturbed i am. This i agree
Knowing things is a good thing , but i think getting involved in problems that do not concern us will only add to stress.
i don't think so. it's the more you're tired the better you sleep
Possibly....to the extent that you don't worry about what you do not know. Apathy may be a strong sleep aid but it eventually will keep you up at night when you finally wake up and see what has happened...as the American public is doing right now. WB
not necessarily. i think it's more like the better one confronts life the better they sleep, cuz at the end of the day life can never be avoided.

I was just wondering, if you read a well written hub but it was something controversial that had a different opinion than you had, would you rate it thumbs down because of that or would you rate it on the hub itself ( written well, lots of information, good layout?)Just wondering because I write...
