No! For starters- All lawyers, congressmen, lobbyists, judges, and more should be urine tested once a week. Congressmen should have all their belongings rifled through by a disgruntled airport security guard once a week. All Cayman Island accounts and others should be confiscated.
The Patriot Act is a freaking joke and the answer is NO it should not.
The Patriot Act was passed just days after the 9/11 attack. The document is thousands of pages long, and covers so much territory, it had to be in somebody's drawer waiting for an excuse to use it.
The Act expanded police powers in every way. It allows citizens to be jailed indefinitely, with out charges, it allows jurisdictional searches (that means door to door). Outlaws political dissent and discussion and the part that really bothers me is that it classifies activists as domestic terrorists, especially when the CIA and FBI have been given permission to shoot and kill suspected terrorists on site!
Obama promised to repeal it and has lost the trust of the American people by renewing it.
This law needs to be repealed forever and all copies burned, as it promotes legalized witch hunts even more than the War on Drugs.

The Patriot Act was meant to be short term but looks to become permanent. Does it go to far? Does it really violate our privacy rights?
