What are the thoughts on Obama's Libya speech? 3/28/2011

After listening to the speech and reading through the transcripts, I think he said a lot without saying much of anything at all. A couple of contradictions and a thumbed nose at the world. "things are going to be difficult for awhile" uhh, ya think?

I do not waste my time,'listening' to what your, or our, politicians "say"...

Politicians say, what they say,in following certain agendas, or towing, the lines of their respective establishments ... as the means, of their staying in "Power" ...

Thus, I reckon, Politics is essentially an evil manner of Mass management.

I think he articulated his and the United Nations position very well, all pertinent questions were answered. Why we are there? Who is with us? How long will we be there? What is our mission? Once again, all these questions and more were answered to re-affirm the decision.

Our involvement also appears to be a slight shift in precedent. although not specifically mentioned, coalition building and implementation of future military action in a swift manner to mitigate or avert atrocities will be considered on a case by case basis.

Are we all on the same page of music regarding this policy amendment? Probably not. Do you think some of the same voices who are now criticizing the President for participating are members of the very same choir who would have criticized him and our allies 10 fold if we just turned a blind eye and did nothing? Probably so.

You nailed.   Talk a lot.  Use platitudes, to regain the foreground, when you've been absent to leadership.

But it's an utter failure.   Obama's clueless and always has been.

Bullshit.  He said that we had a 'moral obligation' to prevent a possible genocide in Libya.  Funny how we didn't have that same 'obligation' to interfere in Darfur, Rwanda, South Africa, Haiti, China, North Korea, Russia, Iran...get the picture?  After all, what EXACTLY are we getting out of this?  Land?  Oil?  Gold?  The satisfaction of being the world's police force?  Then he says that we are turning the operation over to NATO, like that means WE won't be paying for the war now.  But who exactly PAYS for NATO?  Give you a hint:  WE do.  At least partially.  It was just a bunch of bullshit that sounds nice and means nada.
