Hacking is a good thing, if it is used for the right purpose. People use hacking everyday to alter technology, and make it do what they want. We use hacking to take control of a computer, so that we can use it to its full potential, and its needs are met. When people think of "hacking" they think of internet arson and destructive measures of taking or destroying information essential to others.
Hacking is good, if used for the right purpose. As TwoDee puts it, we would not be as technologically advanced as we are now, had it not been for hacking.
Another point is that many governments, exclusively the USA and several private groups, hack information for other sources and countries, to either protect, or destroy, our interests.
Lastly all network or and computer security protection personnel actually have to learn how to hack, in order to prevent against the hack.
If it weren't for hacking, we wouldn't know how to defend ourselves, much as a military unit undergoes real life battle training, so if the time arises, it will perform proficiently.
