Do you believe Obama when he says he saved the Auto industry?

June 3 2011. In a speech today Obama is trying to take credit for the auto industry being profitable again. His claim is "that retooled the entire industry"
While he did authorize loans for several manufacturers, not all of them took the money. Ford took no money and is doing very well.

So did he save the car industry by retooling? If you think so what did he do?

Sure, he should get credit for saving the auto industry.  He should get as much credit for that as he did for hunting down Osama bin Laden, shooting him and flying the helicopter out of Pakistan.

If Obama is the one who went into those plants and retooled everything, then I am impressed. Giving them that money wasn't even his idea, and all it did was keep some of his union voters employed a little longer. Ford did just fine by producing decent vehicles and using their brains to cut costs without taking a bailout.

All he deserves credit for is prolonging this awful economy that his policies have made much worse.

He surely didn't save the auto industry. He just spent a bunch of money that didn't need to be spent. Not to mention, he totally poo-pooed capitalism by giving a hand out to companies that weren't making it. Regardless of any "good signs" they may be showing now, you can guarantee they'll be back for more loans.

I don't believe anything Obama says. When things go right, Obama takes the credit. When things go wrong.......IT'S BUSH'S FAULT! (LMAO)

if you believe in stimulus, yes he did.
if you don't then no he didn't.

BTW he FORCED sold Chrylser and American company to the Europeans, I don't call that "saving" the auto industry.
