Why is there always so much hate?

Why in a world full of "acceptence" there is so much hate for those that are different?  Especially from those screaming for "equal rights".... It makes me sad

I think that is because we fail to relate to one another and then, we fear each other. Sprinkle a little selfishness and greed on the top and there's hate. That's how the equation works-out in my mind.

I totally agree with you. It's a question I ask myself all the time. It seems that it's getting worse instead of better. I believe it's our own doing, a downfall, led by the intolerance of the laws designed.

People feel they can do whatever they please without any consequence. There is little accountability so they figure who cares anyway. Hatred breeds more hate so it spreads like a rampant disease.

Hate is the sibling of fear.  The more fear in a society, the more we look to combat that fear.  We look for a target.  Something to beat back.  Something to feel powerful against.  Someone who is less important.  Someone who is different.

Look how much fear there is in society now.  Terrorism, environmental collapse, economic collapse, spiritual unease.

Hate finds a difference to attack it.

Love finds a difference to grow from it.

Where there is fear there is no love.

As for those screaming for equal rights, by and large they have been the target of hate for millenia and they can see the pendulum swinging back to where its okay to hate Muslims in North America, its okay to hate socialism, its okay to legislate rights away again because of your social choices.   Its okay to vent angrily in a political forum because its entertaining to the tv media.

We breed fear in the media because it sells papers and gets hits on YouTube.  WE create hate because we purchase it.  We crave it as entertainment.  We use it to make us feel safe against terrorists.  We buy it in mainstream hollywood.  We buy it in video games.  We buy it everytime we go to the polls.

If we would stop buying it . . .

    cheers

It's probably an answer worth figuring out through research and study if you're really interested.

I think it's so much hate because people are so miserable and they say misery loves company. Even more so now because of the sagging economy.

Sadly, I believe that we are taught, or rather, conditioned to hate. Children are exposed to hate on a daily basis.. on TV, video games, school, and sadly, often even in their own families. Though these lessons in hate 'may' not be intentional, they are nonetheless absorbed by the children, who are like little sponges. They soak it up, carry it with them, and then share it with others throughout their lives. It's not dissimilar to cancer, in that it spreads rapidly, and is near impossible to cure.
