Anyone with too strong an identification with an ideology of any sort will cause conflict.  Too many view the world as Them and Us. That causes problems.

Can i just start by saying that the answer you gave was an interesting one. Its been a while since i heard someone claim that a war between  the Kingdom of God and the Kingdom of Satan was responsible for anything. However i feel the need to question where you get your evidence. The Bible? The Church? Words from pages written thousands of years ago with no definitive proof. If you have any proof i may be inclined to agree with your answer but your basing it on an old story. I mean no disrespect but i was raised a catholic and the idea of a war between God and Satan was cool - when i was 5. But there comes a time when you need to ask yourself where is the evidence. But again if you can provide me with evidence to support your answer i will happily believe it. Also to point out a point you made:
Im not shallow i understand that their is more to conflicts than religion and Politics.

And Jeni wilson you are correct in your statement.

Banksters, multinational corporations and the industrial military complex are to blame for all conflicts in the world. Libya for example was engineered solely for oil, nothing to do with humanitarian issues...for crying out loud the rebels are controlled by Al-Qaeda terrorists who had been active in Afghanistan. One of the first people France sent in, at the start of the conflict, was a high ranking official from Total, the French oil company. Along with the UK they are now carving up control of the oil between themselves, oh and I'm sure the US will be involved in that behind the scenes.

Nothing to do with God or Satan! But as long as religious zealots believe all that nonsense the true controllers of the world will continue unopposed.

As far as conflict is concerned, I would say both politics and religion operate on an equal basis. Their cause is pretty much the same in history, wars brought on by the church, was brought on by roman politicians...both at the same time and interchangeably.  I'd say they are equally responsible in a basic sense.

And 'Man from Modesto'- Calling out people as shallow for asking questions, and spreading religious dogma in a writing site is probably not the most popular move around, let alone a way to make friends or earn respect. One could equally argue the definition of shallowness being one whom vilify's others that don't believe in their chosen story of how the world works.

It's just a book man....one of hundreds!  Sorry

I think personal opinions play a great part in world confusion as any other voice that will try to be heard. Everyone is trying to get through the door at the same time. I think the higher power have the answer.

I agree with mobias that both politics and religion are equally responsible for conflict around the world. Both have been used as pretexts and rationale for the initiation of conflict. Pursuit of political or religious objectives have likewise been equally culpable for the cause of conflict.

Politics is the reason. Religion is just another way to get average people to go along with it all.

I think religion is the cause of many conflicts but politics is the vehicle used to fight the wars.  If there were not so many different belief systems in this world we wouldn't see half the conflicts around the world that we do.

    Politcians have armies..............religions do not..........

There is NO " Christian, Tibetian, Catholic,  Hindu, Jewish "............army.

ARMS and defense belong to the nations...........THIS is as it should be.......protect your citizens, your borders, your people..............without protection and defense..........what is the USE of an 'army'........or armed and skilled ones?

I support a strong and well guided military.......in the name of the state, not in the name of a faith.

There is no interest, in me, for creating conflict, but I want the very best that there is, for answering it..........

I AM a Christian, and I support a strong and well supplied military...........it will  defend you, also.........

Is there a problem between us?

Both politics & religion are responsible for conflict in our world...  In every nation there is neither one with out the other.
