   Money means having an effective say in the economy. What I purchase and where the products come from determines who in the world or USA I am assisting. If I purchase American made goods, I am helping American's have jobs and encouraging American companies to be in the USA. If I buy foreign consumer goods, I am assisting in the global economy; helping others who live in other countries. Money gives me as a consumer the ability to have a voice in US economy and the global economy. I help determine what the small, medium and large businesses will do next for their profit and sales. It pays to be an aware consumer and know how plus where you are assisting domestically and foreign.

   Primarily in this economy money means insolation, to some extent, from the current problems. We all of course need money to pay the mortgage, bills etc. Beyond that
   Russell Brand once described money as "tokens for doing stuff". It was a funny statement but there's some truth to it. Some people hourde money and become obsessed with it, which is foolish because it's meaningless outside of what it can actually do for you.

   Money means being able to pay the bills.  It's not the be all and end all and as long as I have enough to get by then I'm happy.

   Happiness.
   Yeah I know money can't buy happiness, perhaps, but it can give you freedom to seek happiness. I have had times in my life where I didn't need to think about money at all and I have had times when I had to weigh every penny.
   It is far easier to enjoy life when you don't need to think about every dollar you spend.

   Possibilities. I haven't gone shopping for clothes in over a year because of a part-time job. My clothes don't fit, they are years old. Also it would be really nice to give my boyfriend a nice birthday present and christmas gift.

    For me it's freedom. Money had controlled our lives so much that it is hard to live without it. But, if you were to control money, you will be freed from the controls of money and you can start doing the thing you love in life. I am also searching for a way to gain money not because of the status or fame but because of freedom to do what I want and when I want it.

    It is a medium of trade.
    
    I traded this many hours to make this 10, 20 50, 100, 500.........dollars.
    
    Do I want to trade my 'work' for this product or service?   What else could I have for the same amount of work?   Which , would I rather have,  my pay, or this product?   I actually, ask myself this........I even ask it to my hubby, who is not a good money manager!   Are you willing to work in the elements for 60 hours, in order to have this thing?   Am I willing to trade my hours worked for it?   Most times, I am not.....of course, the obligations must be met, but after that..........the decisions are more flexible and questionable..
    
    It is a medium of trade.
    
    There is no interest in me, for trading my work for junk!

    Money is not the root of all evil, greed is.  Money does not bring long term satisfaction or happiness.  Money was made important by man and is manipulated by society.
    
    Money is simply a means to an end.  The more we seem to value it, the harder life becomes and the weaker its value is.  The more you get, the more things cost and such.  It comes with difficulty for most and goes too quickly.  For some it is like an addiction, for others it is the fabled golden ticket.  It is like a sick joke.

    I see money as the physical representation of work performed based on how much said work is valued by society. 
    
    In ancient times everything was bartered for but as civilizations became more complex it became necessary to have something that represented the work we did so money was eventually coined.
    
    Manipulation of the economic circumstances that arose from a complex monetary system have caused problems with the true value of money in our modern society.  If everyone put in some form of work to earn the money they get then the world would be a better place and the economy would balance itself out. 
    
    Greed and self entitlement are both obstacles to progress.
