   No. They cannot exactly be helped and that won't stop anything. If anything, I find the situations funny. Though I will admit it is sad that someone would go to such lengths.

   I don't think it is possible to outlaw what is really nothing more than a sale.
   People have been injured and even killed being trampled by bargain hunters.
   We have to accept that people are really stupid selfish creatures. So long as there are people these things will happen.
   In the case of the woman who pepper-sprayed the crowd; she should be made an example of. I would have no problem putting her in prison for 1 year / each person injured. She very easily could have gotten someone killed. Simply charging her with battery isn't nearly enough.
   As for Black Friday BS in general and all of the hooting about how it is intruding into people's TG holiday? If you are so lame that you are going to some BF event you are to blame for anything that interrupts your TG.
   I will be watching you on the news and laughing my self silly.
   But I don't buy into the whole Xmas thing. My family doesn't do the whole commercial Xmas thing. I do any shopping I need to do, which for Xmas is 0, online. Everything comes to my door and I get better prices than any BF sale; or I don't buy it until I can.
   Stores should be ready with decent crowd control. But if they aren't they can deal with the trashing of their stores and any law suits that come as a result of their stupidity.

   I think Millionaire Tips is right. Rioting has been outlawed forever. Maybe the problem lies not in the law but in its enforcement.

   The riots are ridiculous! I think the bigger issue is the way that Wal-mart chooses to manage their stores on Black Friday. I know the one I went to they had to close the doors at one point because the store was over capacity. I like the other stores much better...when they open their doors EVERYTHING was available to purchase. No crowding around pallets of items and having everyone jockey for position causing a lot of jostling and strategic maneuvering.
   
   I told the team of people I went with this year that next year I am totally avoiding Wal-mart until after all the ridiculous doorbuster times were over. I found it hilarious that when I returned to Wal-mart later in the morning everything that I wanted was still available so my effort was wasted earlier as far as I was concerned.
   
   Anyway...people need to act like adults and for crying out loud....LEAVE YOUR BABIES AND TODDLERS AT HOME please. I couldn't believe the number of people that had these small children out in the stores at ungodly hours (2a, 3a, etc.)...and then they were surprised when their kids were being pushed around because of all the people and carts. It's too dangerous. (And...aren't they buying the toys for them? What happened to keeping Christmas presents a surprise? Or that Santa brought them? [shaking my head at disbelief].
   
   Anyway...thanks for the question. I guess I'm still a little aggravated by the whole experience. I feel much better now...lol.

   I can't believe it's come to this.  People have obviously lost track, completely, of the spirit of Christmas and giving.  It's a sad state of affairs when people are literally being trampled to death and maced over consumer items.  I say let them all kill each other off.

   Personally I feel the whole push and shove thing to get to that much wanted new item is just rediculious. No person should be put in harms way simply trying to buy a gift for thier family or themselves. Personally I feel big stores such as Wal Mart should not be allowed to host such sales that cause enough problems people are hurt and even arrested. If they are going to do a sale of that magnitude they should do it online only save everyone else the hassell. And for God sakes people leave your kids home if you plan on going to these events you are putting them senselessly at risk to be injured or maybe even killed. Do you really think the selfish 200 pound man behind you cares if he tramples your child or not? Of course not as long as he gets his new  I pad he dont care who gets hurt. I have two children of my own and I do not go to these events no matter how bad they want an item. They have to wait just as I would.

    First of all, I think that the label"Black Friday" is in very poor taste, that was dreamed up by an egotistical financier who feeds off of the gullibility of the public, and is motivated by a greedy appetite for profiting at a time that should be reserved and respected for family time and being tankful for the blessings that we have all been given. What's next, Green Christmas" when all stores will be opened on Christmas Eve and remain open for Christmas day and the day after,when everything is reduced from the original prices that were closer to their legitimate values. Change the name to "Value Friday" or "Good sense shopping Day" and open the doors at midnight the day before and stay open for the entire day until ten o'clock that evening. Limit customers to those who have a proof of purchase from the business and all must enter one at a time and show an I.D. or signed receipt. No camping out before opening and all must behave in an orderly fashion or be removed from the premises and not allowed to return. Riots are spurred on my the times of unrest and economical downturn, and are in reality, a form of acting out because of the stress caused by most people's worries and hostility.This cause they don't know how to deal with in their lives at the time!
